  • HIGHLY recommend to listen with headphones or a high quality audio system!
In this video we are listening to the difference in sound between a Handpan built in 432Hz (Left of screen) to an identical instrument build in 440Hz (Right of screen), though the 440Hz instrument was crafted a year earlier. The instruments being made on 53cm Ember Stainless Steel in the D Shahmaran 10 scale.
    D Shahmaran 10
    D / A Bb C D E F G A C
Attempting to play similar grooves and melodies on the two, there is no effects applied apart from EQ and minor compression to balance the sound making it appear more natural in a live room.
This is NOT a video to advocate for one frequency over another, no preference or reasoning is offered to justify whether one frequency is 'better'. It is merely to offer the listener an opportunity to hear them side by side with identical instruments (as much as it can be with hand crafted handpans) in identical environments played by identical musicians (if I can call myself that anymore!) with an identical audio setup.
This is to offer the listener an opportunity to decide if they have a preference for one frequency over the other or if not, whether it is discernible to opt for 432Hz over the standard 440Hz that we provide.
Thanks Two Hands Tapping for the Audio:

That was amazing and such a great concept! So much said of 432 and really nice to hear them side by side. But then also in unison and feel that pretty sweet dissonant resonance .
    Thanks again!
