Cool adventure, the ger looked more modern than I thought with a flat screen TV and a fridge. And the daughter's place looks quite modern like the interior could be a British home (albeit without the pee stains).
This was a really nice travel video, makes me want to visit! Idk if its this case, but sometimes there are scams where taxi drivers will say your hotel dosent excist and then try to take you somewhere else to pocket the money... it sounds like you had a nicer experience because of it, but I'd be cautious about these things in the future! (I guess this kinda scam might not exist much in China? I've noticed the taxi drivers there can be quite honest)
Yay! Hope you can. This wasn’t the case for us it was unreliable airbnb. We have since learned to never book airbnbs without reviews or a host that replies because this wasn’t the only time it’s happened 😅
I grew up in the city! I can assure you there’s many places with wifi and hot water in the city. (You can boil your water if u want). I think most of the residents have those amenities. The whole “pee” scent comment was unneeded, next time please book a nice airbnb or a hotel where you’ll have those amenities. Just because you have been inside on resident doesn’t reflect the entire city. Let’s avoid the generalizations we are making here. UB is a modern city with inequality just like any other city in the world. There has been a strong move to rehouse the ger district into apartments but the rural to urban migration trend has been growing.
Hey! Thanks for your comment and I’m sorry if it caused offence. We try to travel as slow as we can to really get a sense of a place and help us get a more rounded view but a week is still only enough for general impressions. We shared our real experiences, nothing more, and I think it was the (enormous) gir district that left the biggest impression
@@EllaScottnot unlike rural parts of China that are dirt poor. I stayed for a night in a motel near the Beijing airport because it was convenient. It was one of the dirtiest, most disgusting places I’ve ever stayed at. I didn’t even take my shoes or clothes off to sleep because I was afraid of catching bed bugs.
A very interesting video, thanks for sharing :)
Thanks for watching!
What a cool experience! The video is so well-filmed, and the engaging dialogue (both Chinese and English) kept me watching
Awesome!
Gonna need the name of those songs 🔥🔥

yeah right? I’d totally live in one of those girs 😁
