  • In this episode im in Alberta Canada hunting one of the largest species of wolves on the planet, the Canadian Timber Wolf or Grey Wolf!
    Wolves are extremely intelligent creatures and this is not an easy hunt! I end up sitting in a wolf box for 44 hours to get a wolf killed. There were some ups and downs with miss opportunities and a missed shot.
    This definitely ranks up there for one of my favorite hunts of all time. It was mentally challenging to sit in a box all day long from sun up to sun down trying to stay sharp for an opportunity that may only last seconds.
    I would definitely to this hunt again!

    That miss was painful to watch (a whole lot more for you than me, I'm sure), but anyone who has amassed any amount of hunting experience can say that this can and will eventually happen. Loads of pressure in a very narrow time window of opportunity can make it hard to remember to do everything just right at the exact moment of truth, especially with regard to remembering changes in bullet/arrow trajectory at various distances (and let's not forget those ridiculously easy to make rookie mistakes like forgetting to flick the safety off, consequently jerking the trigger, right?🤷‍♂🤦‍♂). But those are exactly the kind of painful and costly errors that make our determination and focus that much more razor sharp the next time opportunity knocks - and it looks like you did just that here! Well done, man. 👊🐺 ATB

    Yep agree stalking walking is hunting I still freak when I watch people use dogs to chase a mountain lion up into a tree then the Hunter just walks up to tree pulls out hand gun shoots beautiful creature out of the tree I mean there's no sport nothing cougar has no chance I know problem cougars are trouble for some farms they use dogs but usually don't kill it give it a scare and let it go I hunt for food and it takes a lot of time hard work but this isn't as bad as how they kill mountain lions in the USA

    Sitting in a heated shed playing on a laptop and shooting from a table with a table cloth at some poor critter that happlessly wanders past isn't really hunting, it is more akin to a video game, I'm glad I live in the UK where Hunting/Stalking is very different, no offence meant but not impressed

    Yeah… whatever. I have met or should say took a wolf trapping class from one of the formost wolf experts in the world. Why say it like that? He trapped wolves in Mongolia? Somewhere over there for the Smithsonian. Anyway, most North American wolves are about the same size. All are the same wolf with very few exceptions. Timber wolf gray wolf Canadian whatever all the way to Mexico. Then there is a little different sub species
    Same thing.
    Next myth is weight. A hundred pound wolf is HUGE. Anything over that is an anomaly
    125-150 ? Laughable

    • @T410ce
      @T410ce Місяць тому

      If you think that a 125-150 lb Mackenzie Valley Timber Wolf is laughable then you are the joke my friend. These wolves AVERAGE around 115-130 lbs. Wolves up here have been taken that are 180lbs.
