      so its about you then... funny you assume hes not confident just because he don't want to jump in front of a lense... some people are not attention whores. but enjoy your little heart lol . @@ocarina0001

      @@vasili1207 how on god's green earth do you somehow miss the irony of saying i'm assuming something (which is less of an assumption, if you've been around the channel for a while you would see he rarely if ever showed himself), when you are also assuming something about him? i was just complimenting his very apparent growth as a creator and his confidence, because he is a person behind the content, he's not a machine made for your liking. does it irritate you so much that someone else gets complimented you need to complain?

    The only time I ever got to visit the Netherlands was in 2010 and I got to visit Zandvoort and put my feet in the cold North Sea and find empty razor clam shells on the beach. I still have those shells, I brought them back to Canada with me! I love your videos....it reminds me of my visit in your beautiful country!

    I come from the older days when noone, noone knew what you looked like and most of us thought you were headed toward age eighty, or at least somewhere about Forty-twoish. Surprisingly, at that time in our lives, you were weeks seventeen. And who knew you would turn into this handsome young man you are today. I mean who knew. I look forward to your videos, and missed them. Well. Keepum coming! You are evolving, and so much for the better. Thank-you.

    I remember going on a fishing trip as a kid and we accidentally left our live bait bucket half way full with some lake water. Many many months later I grabbed for the same bait bucket and only about half an inch of water was left. Inside the water was a handful of massive adults of a same or similar species. They must have had an entire generation breed, grow, and eat each other for those last few to survive. Freaked me out as a kid to see that lol.

    Hey, just had a question about my aquatic ecosystem. Its in a smallish, sealed jar that's in front of a window that gets light a good portion of the day. It has some mosses in it and some plants, but those are the only things that i can see alive in the jar. Its been around about a month since i made it, and no crazy stuff yet. Also, the bottom is filled with a sort of mixture of sand/dirt, its the only stuff i could find near the pond i got it from. I know sand is bad because not much lives in it but if you had any advice i would appreciate it.
    My working theory is its either not enough light, (but if it isn't enough then why are the plants fine?) the sand made it so i didn't get enough life in to start, i might have overcrowded the jar with too much in it, or its not been enough time.

      Sometimes you have to go looking for more critters. I'm no expert, but if it were me I would make a few more jars - see what variables you can adjust, such as moisture level, sunlight, or source your substrate from a different location. Under old and decaying wood is usually a good place to get things like isopods and springtails.

    • @nefariousyawn
      @nefariousyawn Рік тому

      I just noticed you wrote aquatic - so some of my advice doesn't apply, my apologies.

      @@nefariousyawn hey no worries, I've made a couple jars previously and have isolated some issues and corrected them, but rather then guess and check for another couple months I thought id consult the internet. The problem with getting my substrate from a different location is that everywhere i seem to go has either shitty clay or crappy sand. I live in Georgia. Thanks for your advice.

    the problem will be the temperature, too hot in your house, too cold in exterior because the volume of water is too small and it's not burrowed in ground
    maybe adding a small heater reaching constantly the temperature of their habitat can be better

    It is always fun and inspiring to see your uploads. Have you ever considered adding some sort of movement such as rocking or a current to any of your aquariums to more accurately simulate certain environments? I imagine some organisms depend upon (or at least thrive better within) such conditions, especially sessile ones.

    I just found out that someone is using mantis shrimp to make a new camera. If you have heard of the mantis shrimp before, this might seem like a good idea as the mantis shrimp can see a wider range of colors than we can. And just to give perspective, we can see 3 base colors, red, blue and yellow, the mantis shrimp can see 12 base colors. Again, this all seems good and well, and even might get you too think something like ''it would be so amazing to see other colors'', until you stop for a second and realise that even if we make a camera that can see these 12 base colors, we can still only see 3
