Surely the Premier League not wanting an independent regulator is ALL the justification needed for having one ?
The same reason energy companies were against energy regulators.
It cuts into their profits and stops their corruption.
He doesn't want to be regulated because he runs the Premier League like Venells ran the Post Office.
Coming from a guy doing his best relegate the likes of Everton but doing there up most best to keep Mr 115 charges in the Premier league...
He's totally running things well lol😂🤣🤦♀️
The system wasn't imposed by the EPL - the club chairman voted for the system, including Everton's.
In fairness - Masters doesn't investigate the clubs himself and it was always gonna take a long time to get all the evidence for 115 charges.
@@ozzy61628/9 years ago before the unchecked bigger clubs and sovereign states ballooned the transfer market on purpose paying £85m for the likes of Antony and £115m for Caicedo making it harder to stay within the rules, build a stadium and compete.
Ricahard Masters and his band of bastards are corrupt protecting the cartel 6

Because he wants the power, not for the good of the Premier League or football, but for the good of him and his cronies
I’d like to know which teams in the Premier League gave their agreement to his statement, my guess is zero🤬🤬🤬
Funny this comes out days after another points deduction for Everton..again
Needs an independent regulator to put an end to his/their corruption. He’s only concerned re the sly six, the sooner his power is removed, the better it will be for football.
Masters making it up as he goes, an independent regulator who truly adjudicates on all teams financial records is the best way to go if breaches have occurred in PSR. At the moment we have different regulators in place who have issued points deductions where no proper guidelines were in place as to how much the deductions should be in relation to the size of the breach.
Masters has to go. Not fit for purpose and corrupt.
Evidence?
@@ozzy6162 are you blind and dumb ?
@@ozzy6162 You protest too much
@@ozzy6162petition already has 6k signatures
@@ozzy6162go watch his video in parliament he hasn’t got a clue neither have the PL
Imagine the reasons why he'd not want any oversight - and it doesn't have to be politicians but it does need to be transparent. There needs to be iron-clad rules and regulations for football clubs and not the nonsense we've seen where the rules either aren't applied uniformly or there simply aren't any rules and/or detailed prescripted responses documented.
Sky clearly worried about this regulator
Don't forget people. City charges came out one day before the white paper was gonna go ahead
The Premier League needs a regulator, Richard Masters is running scared
most of us understand the demerits of an independent regulator but the premier league have proven over the years that they cant control illegal ways of some clubs such as Chelsea and City, we are left with no choice but to take the bitter option of the regulator
Premier league is running league so well 😂
They are for the most-part which is why it's the most successful league in the world at the moment.
Most EPL changes are voted on by all the club chairman - that won't be the case if a government controlled quango is appointed.
@@ozzy6162 government is rubbish but to suggest luxury tax like that will be better than fair play rules is dumb because it will be Newcastle vs city every year
Let every club use the same salary limit
Unless City are stripped from their titles (if found guilty) then we still need an independent regulator. So far just punshing the lower table clubs is not enough if anything.
City's turn will come. There's no such thing as an independent regulator. It's top people are government appointed and they do the government's bidding.
It’s all about the 🤑🤑🤑
Not all independent regulators, or the people who work in them, are politicians, if any.
You wont argue about ofgen, ofwat, ofcom ect when they stop your energy and water companies from charging you extortionate amounts and monitor and charge for corruption and monopolies within the sector.
They are more often than not, completely independent bodies and the workforce isnt changed out everytime a new party comes to power.
You will have accountants, solicitors and professionals from the industry working at the regulator.
Who is to say that politicains dont have influence over the top people in the prem noe or at anytime. I bet it is far easier to influence a private entity than an independent entity. 🤷🏻♂️
Corrupt!
Let me see who picked the independent panels for Everton and Nottingham Forest oh yes the premier League so are the Panels really going to be Independent
“Genuine concerns regarding how truly independent the regulator will be”. Strong words from the man who was vetted for his job by United and Liverpool.
Every club chairman had to vote to accept him NOT just Man Utd & Liverpool.
@@ozzy6162United and Liverpool were given access to Masters in the interview process. No other clubs were given such access. I wonder what was discussed that United and Liverpool both thought he was the correct candidate? He’s a puppet of certain clubs and he has the audacity to talk about independence.
Well we all know man City is a sportswashing puppet for abu dhabi 😂
There is not football fan out there who thinks Masters should be in a job. Corruption at its finest.
It is his own shortcomings that has led the independent regulator to be introduced.
Run things better mate and you would have been fine.
Masters should resign. Bring in an independent regulator who isn’t scared of the Sky favourites.
Dick Masters - Clearly the bloke running scared of someone or something. Go for the Jugular the bloke has no idea.
The independent regulator will be a sheikh from Abu Dhabi
115 FC
Who is to say that politicains dont already have influence over a private entity like the prem, now or at any time, past or future.
I bet it is easier to influence the top brass at the prem, than an independent body.
Masters should be sacked now.
Well fans are not seeing that £1.6 billion filter down to lower league clubs. The reality is the Premier League is only worried about the money they make, And the power they hold over English football.
The man is a charlatan trying to save his own skin ..It's pathetic what he's done to the premiere league
Richard master should go
Worried about his golden egg. Corrupt as F.
Its become a joke
Because Man City told him to say this .....
another Corup epl Bosss is afraid of Regulator that they will exploit them 😅
Aye because regulators appointed by the government have such a great track record and aren't government controlled at all 🤣🤣🤣.
Lol he doesn't want a regulator looking into his corruption he's panicking
Masters and the PL are goosed
Crooks like to keep there business quiet ,wouldn't want the top 6 to stop running would we?
I agree with Masters about not bringing politicians into the game. I feel really strongly about this.
It would mean the government appoints the top people in the regulator, who will do their bidding whether it's good for the game or not.
It's naive to think that this will produce an independent regulator. The current system needs changing but a politically controlled body isn't the answer.
The epl is finished,😊
Wounding the goose that is the BIG SIX... take the six and go set up your own league with the likes of PSG etc.. we want our clubs back! You're not fit to run the league it's become a joke league the way you've punished Everton and Forest but not City.
Nothing good will come out of the government.
Would it be better to have this regulator be appointed by the stakeholders in football. Maybe giving s section of vote to fans, players, owners, managers and other staff, broadcasters etc on who gets appointed might be a better idea.
@@sethsteele9500 appointment by government will not be independent the same way as the current arrangement, but I'm sure there are ways to protect the integrity of the game without harming the rights of other stakeholders namely the owners /investors.
Name a independent regulator that works , as soon as a government regulator in football, football will be Fckd
Ofcom works if you look at it objectively.
It needs it we have dodgy champions over the years. Point deductions all over the joint. Time to fix the game up.
😂😂😂🍿
Let Southgate be the regulator
Hopefully the premier league show uefa how to deal with man city cooking the books for over 15 years
This is the start of the End of English Premier League. It's time to start a new football league
Course he's fuming, it will probably put an end to the utterly corrupt rules in place to protect the 6 clubs who tried to sell the soul of English football a few years back.
