Thirteen suspected she might have Huntington's, yet she aimed to live life to the fullest. Kurtner, in contrast, was physically healthy and had the potential to be an excellent doctor, but he chose to give up on life. Ironic, isn't it?
@FaceFish9 Yes. It is terrifying how dire the consequences of neglecting mental health can be. We promote healthy eating, exercising, etc., for our physical health. But when it comes to mental health, I feel like we are a bit neglectful. It is sad that many overlook it or do not speak about it to others.
@FaceFish9 no. he was fine. Anything past season 4 is slop and even into the late stages of season 5 he wasn't suicidial or even depressive. Actor left the show for a place in the whitehouse when obama got installed, they flipped the character on a dime, don't even try to pretend it was planned or good it wasn't. It was dropped out of nowhere because they couldn't be fucked to write a fitting exit - even Masters got a better exit.
@@MisterRobota it's bc kutner's actor left the show for a place in the obama administration, which caused the writers to make a quick script to explain why he left the show

Amber dies. Kutner dies. Wilson *will* die of cancer. So will 13. *Everybody lies . . . And everybody dies.* At least Wilson would see Amber again - in the afterlife.
Kutner's reaction through this sequence hits difference when you consider his fate. He lowkey tries to downplay it, saying stuff is fine, life is just what it is. Everyone seems to be feeling something at the end, Kutner looks pretty unphased, as if bottling up his feeling.
This episode had one of the saddest endings. Wilson lost Amber who he really loved, Thirteen knew she was gonna die soon, and Kutner was heading down a detour.
I never really followed this series in its prime, but was there ever an episode about how rich the patients are, or how crazy their medical benefits are? I mean, they’re in private rooms with the most modern equipment, separated with tempered glass doors, they’re being attended to by multiple on call doctors, including a floating Diagnostician, tons of nurses, the hospital is full of gorgeous waiting rooms with modern furniture in every single wing, and the attached clinic is ultra clean with full access to the hospital’s resources. I mean, insurance companies are probably bribing ambulances to avoid this hospital, right?
The show gets around this by saying the hospital is a teaching clinic and research center part of the university. It is free for patients, paid for by the university/research grants/donations
Well not just any patient gets treated by dr House and his team. You have to be on deaths door or rapidly progressing there, but not too close to death for them to treat you. People with conditions that are easier to diagnose and less severe go to regular doctors and get the regular crappy treatment. The hospital rooms are EXTREMELY nice though.
I don't think it's free for patients though, there are episodes that reference financials of patients (9 to 5, the one with the open marriage), for example@@stephenrosenbaum4177
They shortened the episode for UA-cam. When this aired for the first time you saw her do all 13 tests consecutively. 12 were positive for Huntington's.
To be fair, her dead brother and mother had Huntingtons so I think even without tests she deep down knew she had it. That's why she refused to open test episodes earlier.
It isn’t House’s fault a freak accident occurred. The only thing you can blame him for is asking Amber to come pick him up, which she also did of her own free will.
This is a guy with no filters and no frontiers. His entire team breaks into patients' homes on the regular. And you think a sign on a door is going to deter him?
I don't understand kutner.not only was he a doctor,he was on houses' team.of he had a problem bad enough to need help,he should have asked for help.people there cared about him, they would have helped him.he didn't need to die.
Watching people cut their food then pick up a fork they just laid down, nah wolves are more efficient than that. House also told her about how the rabbit goes around the tree, jumps down the hole. A little trick he taught Foreman, earlier.
And are you so desperate for attention you’d try to disparage someone for being terrified of being diagnosed with one of the worst genetic diseases imaginable?
"Almost dying changes nothing. Dying changes everything."
