You just have to grab one section right behind your ear (the opposite ear you choose your ponytail to be), make two sections of this first one and twist one over the other. The point is do that once and once again till you reach your other ear, BUT each time you twist you have to add one section from the hair you are not holding. Is like doing a french braid just with two sections and adding hair to the lower section.

Yes! I just tried this. The first hair is like a rod and the second section is twisted around it. Hair is added to the second section.

@mithipreet Take 2 sections, (top + bottom) bring the bottom over the top"twisting" them where now the bottom overlaps the top and the top is not at the bottom. After pick up some hair and "twist" or switch the two pieces again, pick up hair each time the bottom moves up. Hope this helps... If not look up the "flat twist" tutorial
