Really happy to see Elysia more relaxed, you both did a fantastic job on this extremely complex parcours! Seems like the earplugs helped her a lot to relax more and I'm glad you tried this option when you noticed, that she tends to get overwhelmed by sound.
Wow. She did well. Anytime a horse does a first time willingly is good. The rolling barrel was interesting. You remembering all the sequencing was impressive.
I was sitting High up in the stands watching all 25 people go during this competition. There’s no question that it was very difficult. The ball obstacle was insane. Even the best pair did not do it perfectly. I’d say 95% of the contestants timed out of the ball obstacle. Your horse did several things way better than other horses. The linked wooden bridges really flummoxed a lot of horses. Also, the scary blue tunnel collapsible tunnel that you had to drag to the end of the arena and around the cone was very difficult for a lot of horses. The correctness of your basic training really shone through when it came to your performance. I videotaped you from my phone from a different vantage point than the one you show here on UA-cam. I have no idea if you’re interested in those videos, but if you are, would I go to your website and try to send them that way? I’m not sure because I’ve never done anything like that before. I would be glad to share if you’re interested. I’ve watched this competition in prior years, and the course greatly differs from year to year. The gentleman on the black-and-white Appaloosa did a great job, and I think that he was the winner about three or four years ago. But even he struggled with these obstacles. So I think it is a crapshoot each year. The gentleman who won apparently had won a lot of other titles doing this, but his horse was obviously well seasoned and probably older than Alyssa. Overall, I would tell the organizers to be a little more realistic than allowing only 30 seconds for each obstacle. On the other hand, we sat there for almost 4 hours watching 25 people go. I’m sure they were trying to wrap it up before the next equine affair presenter started his talk shortly after 5 PM. Well done, Lindsey! What you do with your horse is really hard. Congratulations on your barn made because her cute little fjord- quarter horse cross did an awesome job.
Thank you! The 30 sec is part of the strategy so I don't mind it.... makes it tough. Yes Elysia was probably the greenest/youngest that made top 10... I'm definitely happy with how she did. Probably email videos would be great harmonyhorsemanshiptm@gmail.com
Excellent job! Looks like that bonnet really will help. I know that I always am more focused at my work ( I do super detailed work) when I have my earbuds in….they don’t have to be playing anything, just having that muffled noise is a big focus helper! Congratulations and thanks for sharing ❤️🌵🌞MBZAP
Can't believe only 30 seconds to do that 3 ball thing! I wonder if the organizers even had tried to see if it could be done. You and Elysia did great!!!!

I didn’t even know you could use ear plugs for horses.you learn something new everyday! 🙂. Good job you two! 👍🏻
I've never tried them before
Well done! 👍. Just purchased a sound dimming ear bonnet. Haven't used it yet, but after watching Elysia's great performance, I think they do help.
That's interesting!
