bro i dont agree what mhj says, like the acusation of plagiarism and such.
but there seems to be a confusion between inspiration and samples.
Samples are the actual snippet of the song that has been used, i dont think its a sample of any of the songs tho, i think the instruments are different.
Inspiration means that one took the "meaning" of the melody/ chord progression(you cant own chord progressions tho) and changed it up a little, changing the "meaning" of the melody or putting it under a new light. (the ending of how sweets melody is different from summer love, in this video, the end of newjeans snippet was cut to make it shorter, check the og video)
I do think mhj got inspiration from those songs, the melody is similar but not the same.
and i dont think that's wrong in any way, i love this song actually lol, but i dont think its fair that mhj keeps the acusation other groups of "plagiarism" when they are not, i do think illit is a bit similar to nj but its more like an inspiration, its a new meaning, its not the same as newjeans, its kinda like weirdcore and dreamcore, similar but definetly diffrent vibes ya know.

😓Don't compare this situation with illit's.They are not accusing illit baselessly.😂😂😂
1.The most shamelessly OBVIOUS things illit was made to do was copying ALL the key dance moves NJ had. Even some dance director or producer spoke up about it. You're supposed to make significant changes in dance moves for inspiration. Illit didn't do that.
2. The hanbok photoshoots were another alarm. While other girl groups had hanbok photoshoots before, they were never done with poses and the feel like NJ. NJ's feel was reminiscent of painting poses or magazine shoots. The others before were always very formal-like and coordinated. But no, illit made everything too similar starting from pose type, hanbok colors, similar hairstyles, location, even filter!!! We have THOUSANDS different types of those and yet they chose everything that resembles NJ shoots too much. Not to mention lots of their other photoshoots were like NJ as well.
3. Anime character drawing style. There are HUNDREDS of different anime styles. Yet they picked the one similar to NJ. Everyone in hybe have their own anime styles too, so i don't know why illit's management couldn't get creative and do a style that's different.
4. Overall fashion style. Very similar to NJ at times that people seem to mistake them for NJ out in public. Now, i don't wanna hold them to this one because its just fashion.

But really, illit's managemwnt should stop marketing them like they could be NJ 2.0.
Illit's song seem the only thing that they are trying to keep differemt from NJ. The shameless copying that too many are noticing right now may extend when NJ is on their hiatus. This will do good to no group. While there are things illit are made to copy, there are also things that people should stop accusing them of. For example, the school uniform thing.
There's a difference between being 'inspired' and just straight up 'copying'. As mentioned by a commenter, "historical/ cultural references are generally understood as part of creative process. But copying recent art is seen as a shortcut, lacking the effort and innovation expected from K-pop artists".
🙄🙄If you can make things subtle, that can be taken as 'inspiration' which is what many others are doing, not ONLY NJ. Sampling isnt a new thing; example, dua lipa's 'training season' is wholly a sample.
