I appreciate your honesty and that you let us know the facts. There’s not much information out there on Suboxone and too many doctors won’t be honest like you. So glad I found your channel.
i agree he helps me out alot
I will sure take it long term.I like the term harm reduction. On one side keep taking it and be able to work, have my family's trust, function in society. On the other, crave drugs, steal to support habit, get arrested, end up in psych wards, become suicidal. For me the choice is easy.Thank you for informing people.God bless
I like it when you just let us know whether or not the data supports the question at hand. Great job!
Been on it for 7yrs.Saved my life
13 years here. I don't think people realize how much opiates permanently change our brains. I wouldn't go back to what it was like before for anything.
How is your teeth? Just read what came out through the FDA
@corbindallas18 ??? All opioid medication has no problems with the teeth, if anything opiates like codeine or morphine, condensed morphine aka heyron, or oxymorphone induce healing faster than one whom is not on opiates 😊
Same but bad constipation 😞 what do you use for that ??
@@corbindallas18I have gingivitis now gums imflammed bad at 30. Can’t say this is from subs. But I know it ain’t helping but for many years I didn’t floss or get any teeth cleanings. Getting all that now straightened out. Still have all my teeth
I was on this for 7 years and it was a nightmare to come off. Theres no way around it. You can do it folks. Love and hugs to the ones going through the withdrawals right now. 1 month theough the 5th month is hard. It gets easier after 6 months.
Update?
So your no following your doctor's opinion? Good luck with that, you'll need it.
@@user-ih1lb3oy2bdon’t be a dick. Where does it say he’s not doing it with guidance from his dr
I would love an update. I’m about to start this journey.
12 years everyday I feel fine
If it keeps your life on track take it for as long as you need that's my opinion anyway
Thanks doc. You rock sir!!
Suboxone saved my life. I was addicted to all sorts of opiates for 14yrs I've been on Suboxone for 3
I want to start weaning off soon after things calm down here in the U.S but I'm not rushing it
Take your time and only when your ready brother you seem to Have things in order wish you the best
If it's working for you, don't worry about tapering off. I've been taking it for 13 years, and other than a short relapse in 2010 (I lost insurance & couldn't afford Suboxone) I haven't taken any other opiates. I don't ever plan on giving it up entirely. I'd rather have the security of knowing I can't possibly relapse.

Theses time frames scare the shit outta of me
Thank you Dr B. I've been a fan for years and i love your content. 💛💫🕊
Thank you for this video. I've asked you questions in the past and you responded. Your a great doctor and person:)
Sure thing Steven. Thankyou
@@DrBAddictionRecovery 30 yrs clean and I messed up again not the type that did alot but was addicted no one knew only my mom after getting of methadone which I only used for a couple of months stop going when I was on 20mg lasted like a year the withdrawal systems stupid me now on suboxone..
But does it have a negative impact on my body years down the road? That's the answer I still think people don't know.
I'd like to know the answer to that as well... Have their been any studies on it long term? 🤔
@@LynnAgain83 I've basically been a study for the last 10 years and all I have is high blood pressure lol
How much damage is done when you relapse to Vicodin or heroin?
I've been on it for 13 years. Never had a problem.
I have been on it for 5 years on a 12mg/day. Problems I have faced are your don't crave sex at all which is bad , you pass tool only once a week which is again will be a problem like cirrohos in the long term because normal people pass tool everyday , other problem is when I pee i really have to wait for like forever to pass urine which is again maybe something affecting the kidney so the thing is I can go on and on so I suggest stay clean to live long.
I m on it since last 4yrs from 8mg to 2mg, I even managed to reduce it to .5mg but relapsed as I do not use any other support system because of being a loner. Itz a slippery slope you got to be honest with self first and recognize the pattern of game mind plays to get that last high.
I've been on 16mg a day for 7yrs but usually just take 8mg a day
Can we talk dude??? @Lone wolf
1 month is plenty of time. If you stay on it for years it’s very very difficult to get off of.
I've been on buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone or Zubsolv, depending on how my insurance company felt that week) since 2009. I only relapsed once, in 2010. That was because I lost my insurance and couldn't afford the Suboxone, which at the time was only brand-name and MUCH more expensive than Vicodin. But for the past 12 years, I haven't taken a single opiate other than buprenorphine, and I've always taken it as prescribed. It truly has changed my life by allowing me to actually live my life instead of worrying about getting dopesick.
I asked my doctor DR. CarL Gre*** what are the longterm effects of suboxone and he said he doesn’t know and then said it’s better than heroin. I appreciate his honesty. But I’m scared. Going on 5 years no issues but still
I'm on my 8th year successfully
I have been on Suboxone for about 15 years. I have recently realized I have concerns about how it might affect me if I continue to take this for the rest of my life. I’m now 58 and feel like being free of all substances. I am no longer living in situation that enabled my opioid addiction. Any thoughts?
I been on suboxone over 10 years. I've tried to quit many times and the withdrawal is worse than herion. Don't take suboxone!!
Kratom helped me get off suboxones and the kratom withdrawals were mild like nicotine withdrawals. Im drug free now
10 years
@@teovu5557im trying to get off kratom, its very hard
I wanted to be on it for probly rest my life because tthe drug addiction in my family and the place i live, but i got assesses in my outh and i gotta get 4 extractions done,my teeth was beautiful white and strait, now i been on subs 3 yrs and my teeeth in the back are cracking breaking off in pieces and 2 is absessed.why diddent the company warn us about the chance of tooth loss, decay, and all that?
AQST the next big biotech play that makes suboxone. Hope you cover them! They are pushing through 2.50 heading to the $10 range. They just got a $24 price target and they make oral film medicine like the listerine strips putting an end to needles!
Does suboxone effect you physiologically over the long term?
Of course. It was designed as a detox medication. It’s not a full opiate , but it numbs you .
Lol.. no data, but keep taking it. Any company hopes you will use their product forever so they can maximize profits
Is Suboxone ok to take for pain for post cancer care? Also when need surgery while taking Suboxone & need be out to sleep what meds take during?after? Does effect anesthesia? thanks
Can you use this drug for benzodiazepine withdrawal.
😢 ive been on this garbage since July2007... 😢😢😢
OK so I got a question I take Suboxone for just pain relief I’ve never been prescribed it for opiate addiction is it good for pain long term I’ve been on it for at least three years
Helps my pain alot i can actually funtion normal in life now because of suboxone. I take 4mg twice a day thats all i need
Is it ok DR???.
Yes
No, Suboxone was made for short term use.
Best to just set a taper down of a week, few weeks.. Dr.s rarely know what they’re talking about with opiate addiction unfortunately
Hello Dr B ..
May I ask you what would happen if someone was to have an accident that required pain medication while using Suboxone???
It's made for Long-Term use, yet, theres no data validated definition for this specific long-term scenario...

🤙🥸👎
Do you also believe these mRNA's "long term safety data" is valid? Lol
