  • No-holds barred - Conversation with Nigeria’s Minister of Sports
It is the eve of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
On the surface of things, the Nigerian Sports Landscape is quiet and ‘peaceful’, with all hands on deck for serious preparations for the Games.
Only in football administration are there outstanding issues that are affecting the national psyche - foreign coach, Finidi Gèorge, Victor Osimhen, and so on!
The Super Eagles have plummeted from dizzying heights of success 5 months ago, to embarrassing depths of humiliation and failures two weeks ago.
In Nigerian Sports, there are several questions begging for answers - national facilities and infrastructure; relationship with federations; roles and responsibilities of the different stakeholders in sports; the thin line between supervision and interference by government; a foreign coach for the Super Eagles; and Nigeria’s probable failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. And more….!
On ‘90 mins with Mathematical’, in an uncensored Conversation-without-boundaries with the Nigerian Minister for Youth and Sports, Senator John Owan Enoh, we shall be seeking some illumination on the issues….on Eagle7 Sports radio 103.7 FM.

we keep on making mistakes and mistakes again you don't need a world-class coach for the Eagles to propel, coach or players are not the problem the major problem is the lack of organization, you playing a magnitude match and we all know that most Europe league finish May 16, and we all know that preseario already fumble with two qualifier due to NFF again if you have players already on the ground like kind eyimba or rangers defense so that they have already been training together and just mix them like midfield or upfront like invite 10 players from foreign. I still blame the NNfF for getting the coach so late, at least the coach would have known who to play for him, and the same thing is happening again we are in July now, and I bet probably August or September for the new coach so they can steal more money. [lack of organization] 1]if they employed the coach in time, he will know players are ready to fight for him, look at it now is happening again we have a nation Cup qualifier in September which we are in July since Finidi resigned in early June, still no coach []fire brigade approach.
2] why are we not playing football in Abuja or any stadium in Lagos or fix football stadium in Lagaos [or any state that has direct international flights, by the time our players land in Lagos or Abuja, they start looking for another plane to go to east, all these are tiring.
all these things matter in football you might think are little. so much outside the field makes the team perform, not just the players or coach.
and we need the right person at the NFF, like I always say NFF needs to be privatized. not for them running to sports minister every time which himself no nothing about football.
