This clip is a RETCON'd history. Alan and Monica wanted Jason and AJ to be successful as any parent would, but it was Jason's decision to follow their footsteps into medicine. He was NOT forced. He often spoke of how proud he was to have two parents who were doctors!!! Jason even once asked Edward if he were disappointed at his choice, and Edward said NO! He'd be brilliant at business, but he should follow his own path. AJ folded NOT because of Jason NOR expectation, but if you were watching from day one you'd know it was because of family turmoil!!! I remember when AJ ran away from home in 1988 and he spoke of how Jason would wake up nights crying from worry about AM fighting-divorcing. And they had much to worry about after Monica tried to dump Alan for Sean. They never recovered from that - especially after Rosa come to live with them and Monica went to the Biscayne Islands with Sean and Robert and Anna and Duke then AM competed over the ACOS position. The nail in their coffin was NOT Lucy - but NED!!! Also, when AJ was home, NEITHER of his parents had time for him. Alan had more time - but was consumed with proving himself to Edward, and Monica had even LESS time for their son. So AJ started drinking at 12. Jason was stronger and did not allow family dynamics to take him down. So, this whole Jason living up to the Qs doesn't fit. Yes, he wanted to please them - but never to the point depicted in Monica's "dream." Nope, that was HER fear after the fact.
Since this was MONICA'S dream/fantasy, she gets to include all her fears and foibles on how she has lived *her* life. If she ever had a moment when she allowed herself to *wonder* if she was doing parenting (and adulting) right, then this is where it would raise its ugly head. In dreams n fantasies, you get to utilize any part of your psyche you wish. You quit denying your fears and lay em all out on the table and examine them. IMHO.
OMG! I love Tracy's comments in the dream when they were all arguing about Jason after finding out that Jason was on drugs (lol) Bring back Jason and the Qs! my only gripe about the dream was Emily wasn't there.
The Q need to take center stage again. So sick and tired of sonny's family. GH had great families. The writing to Gloria Monty and Wendy was great. The last 25 years of the Mob at center has be terrible. Bring back GH.
I get why jason is resentful and angry . People forget aj and Jason were best friends, Jason was ajs biggest supporter so he prob changed when his brother died. Alan favored Jason so im.sure he smothered Jason being the only son he raised and had left. Plus living with the qs prob jaded him. Looks like he lives there and hes resentful . Like he said "son number 1 spectacular flameout son number 2 better be brilliant . I can see alan mostly treating him like that esp that he was a dr which made alan so proud. A heartbreaking scene when jason was a q was when alan gave jason his father's watch. Jason told him to give it to aj and alan refused . Jason told him that it's so easy for you to love me and he said " ur brothers but from his behavior u never would know it" jason told him thats why aj screws up all the time . He adored aj while sadly Alan couldnt really love him like jason
Alan did not smother the boys, just the opposite. AJ was more needy than Jason. But when they were boys, AJ was Jason's protector. But AJ needed his parent's close (especially Monica) whereas Jason was independent and did not mind being away at boarding school. Alan and Monica did not force Jason to choose medicine, he did so because he admired them so very much! He used to say it all the time. Yes, Alan did favor Jason over AJ as they grew to manhood, but that was because they rubbed each other the wrong way then. But in 1988, when AJ had run away from school and came home - no father was prouder of his son. But, even THEN neither Alan nor Monica had time for him. They were too busy competing with each other, or Alan trying to prove his worthiness to Edward, or one or the other in affairs or recovering from affairs. Jason handled it - but AJ turned to alcohol at 12. BTW, Alan did end up giving AJ the watch during that Christmas in the hospital. Alan LOVED AJ more than anything in 1979 - but Monica RUINED it by passing him off as Rick's son. Alan never recovered - and he once said that having Jason was a "new beginning." When he tried to work out his marriage with Monica all she would tell him over and over and over was that she would NEVER have another one of his children. That had to hurt as well. But Monica did accept Jason - even if she DID tell Alan that she would take HER son and he could take HIS son when she tried to divorce him to be with Sean.
Don't forget, that was MONICA's disappointment in her own parenting that put that dialog in the episode. Those were not to be understood as JASON'S thoughts. Monica's subconscience supplies the script. She gets to have herself trying on different outcomes for size, and no resolution is guaranteed. Real Jason had no part in this little play. It was MONICA working out her own mess.
Jason & tracy sadly only had a few scenes together. She would speak to him in a loud voice like he was a moron after the accident . When claudia took carly hostage he pulled his gun out & tracy grabbed him & said " put that away u idiot " lol. Before the accident their is only one scene I recall is at dylans baptism at the house jason q introduced his date to her . He said this is my aunt Tracey. That's literally it. Tracey was thrown out of the house in 93 & returned in 96 when he was already jason Morgan. Funny enough michael & tracey got very close when she was living with him at the mansion. It was quite sweet.
ocd4lane yeah I watched clips of tracy when she had dylan and he hugged her and introduced people to his aunt Tracey. shame bc i love these jason tracy scenes
this just reinforces how bad the writing is now. Liz was there because she was important to Jason (and the mother of Jake).. flashforward to 2021, they couldn't even bother to tell her on screen that Jason died.. ugh

IMHO.
Everybody knows that you can't do that on vending machine coffee 😂😂😂

they had a few scenes together before the accident but not much since Tracy was banished in 93 and when she came back he was Jason Morgan
What the name of the song that's playing while Monica looks at the picture of Alan and herself?

Tracy was right. All their own actions. Choices.

Ok i can't remember was Aj Really Alan's son? Because Monica was a trip with Rick Webber. I believe Aj was Alan's so why did he treat aj so bad

Also, what parent "approves" of their son being a MURDERING gangster! Whoever made the decision to take the Q's and Jason in that direction were FOS!

I keep forgetting that Tracy is Jason's aunt. I dont think I have ever seen them together.

After the accident, Tracy alway spoke to Jason in a loud voice and spoke to him like he was stupid, which really annoyed Jason.
@@beegee1960 True. But Tracy had a knack for finding everyone's soft spot and using it to annoy them.
