I’m learning so much from you!! I’m getting ready to drive from Virginia to Kentucky to rescue a guinea pig to bond with my single male (I have 3 now) with my twin 5 year old boys!! I’m documenting the whole trip. I’ve traveled all over my state here in Virginia rescuing my other 3. You’ve inspired me to start posting my own videos on UA-cam.
Umm how can watching piggy cages being changed around and cleaned be so entertaining? These piggies have such great personalities! Its so helpful to see all the things you do to get ideas for my sweet piggy. Thanks for sharing what you do with all of us!
My daughter’s 3 piggies are lucky too... They have their own room with a nice big c&c cage, their own fridge, etc... we will be adding a hedgehog to the other side of the room in 4 weeks . My daughter calls it her Critter Cave ❤️

Right now I have two pairs of boys. One of the pairs live in a 150x55 cm self built wooden cage. The other pair in a closet which was built to be a cage with 3 stories ,110x45 cm. Now I find both of them a little too small. So I will take both of the cages out build a new one 260x60 cm with 4 levels so each pair will have two levels of 260x60.

that was such a great idea. love seeing a modification for a disabled pig. i've had 3 deaf pets since 2016 and you don't see many people talking about how to handle deaf and blind pets and make sure they have good enrichment. this is awesome. great job Scotty.
my thought to make it easier for Pipsqueak to visit Nate is to have a flat piece that leans against Nate's cage (like a triangle), so he can stand up and nose him there, instead of leaning over the open part.

I live in 2 bedroom house one is my bedroom and the other is piggies room 😂 they have nearly 30square feet for themselves (I have 6 girls and they all live together).
@@ashleymooreatchison7145 I didn't have any problems tbf, but when I got new piggies there were babies so that's probably it. And I always cut the veggies into smaller pieces so they don't have to fight for food. they also have multiple houses/hiddenings.
Also when you get new cage put them all together so none of them will feel like there is an intruder at their place 😉

I have 4 girls and I do the same thing, cut up the veggies into pieces so no one gets left out.

The one in my profile pic is really sneaky. She'll wait until one of the others is busy chewing their piece and then steal it to another hidey. She'll purposely leave her butt out so when the one she stole from comes looking for the food, she'll kick them in the face 🤣

Great watching this Scott. I've had the same ideas for my piggies - trying to find ways to enrich their little lives. It's a work in progress for sure. I was worried about not being able to get to the enclosures to clean them if i had the run in front but I'm going to try some boards with hinges that I can flip up and down. Will be very interested to see what you come up with. Great stuff.

Oh my god Scotty we both modded our piggies cages I finally built my three boys a second floor for their hay and since then they’ve been so curious thank you for the videos it really helps us learn more about our best friends 😊😊😊

I use the bottom of the hay bag tiny pieces and hay dust and put that on top of the wood shavings so I utilize it and not waste it.
Anywhoo I got a large piece of plastic rain gutter and I'm going to make something with it for mine for exercise. Haven't figured it out yet though.

Hi Scotty , I was watching you sew and I have a couple of suggestions for you, on how to make you a more successful sewer. First, I noticed 5hat you are pulling the fabric from the back, as you are sewing. That’s a no-no. The feed dogs on the machine will pull the fabric thru. Look at your sewing Manuel to see if there is a button or dial on the top left side of your machine that lets you reduce the pressure of your sewing foot or increase the pressure on your sewing foot. Can you tell me what model of Brother machine you have? I will look it up on the internet to get some more information on your machine. I’ve been sewing for 57 years now and I worked for a sewing machine dealership, giving lessons to people who bought machines from us as well as holding a monthly sewing club. We had upwards of 35 people show up on any given club meeting. There was always a project demo each month and hand outs were given to everyone in case they wanted to complete the project at home and then we had.an item featured each month like needles or specialty feet and a demo on how to use the feet. So please give me the model number of your machine and I’ll get back to you to continue my message to you. Thanks Scotty. I just love men who sew!!!💕
I have baby piggies and I am making them a bigger cage with cnc, what should I use for the bottom of the cage (the floor) ...
Determine their sex by 21 days old, separate the males.
Cnc is C&C. Cubes(grids) and corroplast (corrugated plastic) the corroplast is the floor, unless you mean bedding, I like fleece or kiln dried pine shavings

Piggie Smalls cracks me up! When I was a kid, I had a Peruvian guinea pig named Piggie who could jump into his cage. I took him to a little pet show in my hometown, and the judges were so impressed, he won Most Talented. I had five guinea pigs during my childhood, and he was the only one who could jump like that.
One tip for sewing is to let the machine do the work. Don't pull your material through it, you can guide and help keep even tension but dobt pull it. The hardest part for me was always getting the tension set right
You did a great job with your sewing and all the cages. It's goid for Pips to have a neighbor

I always make my own fleece for my piggies. It's definitely not professional but it does the trick and my boys like it. That's all that counts. I think you did a fine job Scotty.

I use shredded cardboard because my boys are allergic to pine and most of the piggles I have had were always allergic to aspen pine so I had to find something instead of pine for them. Shredded cardboard works better for them.
