You really should have insulated the upstand because there was no reason not to. Now you have a warm area meeting a cold so you’re bound to have constant condensation during winter
I will be doing something similar except my bram will have headplate attached and i will be having a 150mm insulation warm roof . Anyone reading this would it be a good i dea to have upright metal posts or lay the beam onto existing wall , thanks in advance .
What would be the max. span (wall to wall) for a 2 by 12 soft wood ceiling joists (12 being vertical), that would not bend under snow or it's own weight? i'm looking for a direct approximate answer, i just don't get the online tables ?
Could you show how it looks after it rains? I just had my flat roof redone and there are a bunch of pools of water and it looks like possibly air pockets....not sure. It's making me nervous.
The installation of the felt is totally wrong. You never cross bond layers, a venting partial bond layer should have been used as a base layer, the joints in the deck need to be taped, and the deck should have been primed.
Wouldn’t both ways work well? Having the ply under the insulation may also cause cold bridging from the edge of the ply in to the void?! We usually put ply under and over and we insulate all the perimeter joists

informative vid . the vapor movement will find it's way through the untaped gaps and rot the ply though surely
No vapour barrier between deck and insulation ?
exactly what I thought... that will come back to haunt them (the home owner)
looks like you forgot to install a vapour control layer under the insulation on top of timber deck.... failed LABC regs. likely roof will decay
I was wondering about that
Not just me that noticed that then.....
Vapour control layer can be added inside, taped and sealed under joists.
It looks like you haven’t tapped the joints on the insulation panels!
Can the steel beams be replaced with timber for a single three bed room?
What’s the slope drop per inch on each foot? I would like to do something similar. Nice vid. Thank you!
Hello, thanks for the knowledge shared....Are these roofing systems applicable in tropical countries?....dont see such here yet interested

Thanks for information
Make a video that has the flat roof built from scratch
What size ibeam you can use on a 10m x 18mm flat roof residental garage?
Underlay had not been laid to the fall of the roof ?
Genuine questions: why is the upstand for the roof light not insulated ?
Because the owners wife always takes a shit against it .

lots and lots of mistakes and essential points left out in this build. I wouldn't be surprised if the ply moulds after 2 years.
Hi can you tell me please what thickness of plywood you use First if you tell me that I appreciate thank you
18MM

Hey did you get problem sorted? I need to get my flat roof done and had 8 people around and getting nervous I may choose wrong person
You guys rock!! Fantastic work!!
What size is that steel?
Where's the vapour barrier ?
Quite a few things wrong with this roof.
Good job though.
Would you mind telling me what size steal beam have you used ?
looked like a 200
How thick is your plywood here?
18mm

Didn't see any pad stones
not the best noggins 9.14
This is not a warm roof.
Why? Looks to be done correctly?!
The decking should be under the insulation and the felt should be on top of the insulation.@@TheNorthernmunky

@@TheNorthernmunky I would think the felt should cover the edge of the ply. Where is the void?
@@TheNorthernmunky correct 👍
Someone's gonna break an ankle, what fucking mess.
