Shri S.N. Goenka learned Vipassana from Sayagyi U Ba Khin, the first accountant general of Burma and widely regarded as a leading authority on Vipassana, in Burma, where he was born. Vipassana is the meditation technique Buddha taught as a universal remedy for all ills and practiced to achieve enlightenment.
