Hi Dave, thank you so much we really appreciate that and we're glad you enjoyed it 🤩That's great that you bought the hooks, they really were very useful 😊 Thank you for watching - Amanda & Mark 😍
Nice video guys. Great introduction to your next cruise video series. No point in crying over spilt coke 😢 Rum however would have been a more serious matter 😂
Hi Julie, thank you so much, yes it was so exciting to be onboard finally having originally booked this cruise for January 22 but Covid restrictions made us change our plans. We really hope you enjoy this series and thank you for watching - Amanda & Mark 😍
Awhh thanks 🤩 Those hooks would work really well in the Motorhomes as well (if you've got any metallic surfaces that is 😂) Well we can help you look for a very appealing cruise 😜😜 just give us a shout 😂 Thanks for watching and sorry we didn't see you at the Show, we didn't make it in the end, hope you all had a fab time - Amanda & Mark 😍
Awhh welcome aboard Tina and so glad you enjoyed watching 👀 You're trip is going to be amazing 🤩 You'll have so much time to explore Iona as well as all those places you're going to visit 🏝️ We loved going and getting some pick n mix and visiting the cinema and even though it was a two week cruise we still didn't get to see or do everything onboard but hopefully during your 5 weeks you will 😊 You'll also love all the fitness classes you can go to (some of them are chargeable). Your 200 days wait will fly by!! Thanks for watching - Amanda & Mark 😍
Thank you so much you two 😃 The suitcases go under the bed, usually there's enough room for them to be closed, occasionally they might have to be left open 🧳 We've taken bikes onboard cruises before and that's a whole other ball game 😂 Thanks for watching - Amanda & Mark 😍
Really enjoyed the first episode of your vlog having just come back from the sane itinerary on G402 which was our first ever cruise experience. We really enjoyed it. Looking forward to your upcoming episodes.
Hi Jonathan, thank you so much 😊 Were you happy with P&O as a cruise line and are you hooked? Did you have a drinks package or take on some of your own stuff like we did? We love cruising and missed it during Covid but having our motorhome gave us the chance to get out and about still - we couldn’t wait to get back to it and doing a Christmas Cruise and New years Cruise had been on the bucket list for quite a while!! Thank you for watching - Amanda & Mark 😍
@@AdventureswithAmandaandMark Hi. Yes we think we will try another cruise sometime but perhaps on another line. Although looking at some UA-cam videos of MSC cruises it doesn’t look too appealing TBH. One of the biggest advantages to us on this cruise is that Southampton is our hometown so it was amazing to be starting our holiday and in our cabin and unpacking within 15 minutes of arriving at the terminal! Unlike the hassle of airports! On Iona we didn’t have a drinks package but we did spend quite a lot on alcohol but nowhere near the cost of taking even the basic package for 2 weeks. We did take two litres of Gin onboard with us and topped this up on port days, even though you are not supposed to - nobody checked our bags except the xray machine in the cruise terminals! Not sure if it was the date we chose to try our first cruise but without sounding disrespectful, it felt a bit like we were on a floating retirement home most of the time with us being in our early 50s, we were the minority age group! Same conversations about how this was there 59th or more cruise and this was just one of about 5 they were taking this year😱 We don’t really get the repeating the same thing on the same ship to the same destinations over and over again. Maybe that’s something we would do after we retire!😀
@@JGunner1970 Hi so we did the MSC Northern Europe cruise in November, not sure if you have seen our videos, and we really enjoyed it, so much that we instantly booked another one for the same itinerary but after seeing a fabulous fly cruise deal on MSC World Europa in the med we have changed it to this and our daughter and her partner are coming with us - they have just done a cruise on Iona and he was hooked and our son and his partner who will be on their first cruise. The ship looks amazing, the itinerary was really good and it was all inclusive. We cannot wait. We are booked on Princess for a cruise to the Baltics and Scandinavia in June - our first time on this cruise line and it is going from Southampton. There are quite a few cruise lines going from there now - Celebrity Apex is going to homeport there from May to November and do all sorts of itineraries. Some people just love cruising so much and they say its cheaper than staying in a retirement home 🤣 We had been to Valencia and Barcelona before on cruises but none of the other ports so that worked well for us. The two weeks before and two weeks after were canaries so we probably wouldn’t have been too keen. We hope that you do find another cruise line to try out though and well done with the drinks and getting away with sneaking more onboard 🤣 We didn’t really touch ours!!
@@AdventureswithAmandaandMark We did watch your videos from your November trip with MSC and that looked very good when compared to others that we saw where the ship was completely rammed around the pools and decks. It didn’t feel like that on Iona. We did notice on yours that the costs once onboard were more expensive than with P&O. If we do another cruise this year then we would like to try a fly cruise to the Caribbean or southern Europe. You think MSC is worth a go then? I hear good things regarding Celebrity but this is bit more pricey. It’s our 5th wedding anniversary this year in September so we are trying to decide on either going back to Bali which is where we want on our honeymoon, a Road trip to the US including Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans or maybe to try Thailand, although weather could be dodgy then. Hope you enjoy your next cruise. We will be looking out for your next videos. I have always enjoyed making our own vlog style videos to look back on but generally only for ourselves, family and friends.
@@JGunner1970 Hi so obviously our MSC one was to Northern Europe so a bit busier inside that out. Think there was a lot more space on Iona but if you wanted a seat in the Atrium it was almost like the race to get a sun bed - don’t know if it was the same for you 🤣 Definitely do a fly cruise to the Caribbean - we’ve been twice and its so lovely there and so warm!! If you want cheap, cheerful and glitzy then yes to MSC, our one in November is a really good price and we are visiting 4 ports we have not been to before which is a bonus. We have done Celebrity, back in 2018 and Mark loved it - we went to Japan/China/Taiwan but it was a special occasion so we pushed the boat out a bit, the same as we are doing for another special occasion on Princess this year. If it’s for your anniversary you should definitely do something amazing. We’ve just started as Travel Agents and we got to see all about Escorted Tours last week and some of them were amazing 🤩 Never even crossed our minds to do something like that before! Keep in touch and let us know what you do 😍
Just subscribed , really friendly couple , enjoying your motorhome adventures and now your cruises , you seem to have plenty going on have you both retired or working still , keep the videos coming really enjoying them
Hi Pete and welcome onboard 😊 Thank you so much for subscribing and commenting, we really appreciate that! We were quite busy with two cruises close together but will be back out in Millie the Motorhome soon - we didn't realise til last weekend she'd be sat on the drive for 10 weeks not moving 😱😱Mark is semi-retired and I work full time (as well as doing the editing and starting up a travel business!!) but we love travelling so much so try to make the most of what annual leave I have. Do you have a Motorhome or do you like cruising? Thank you so much for watching, take care - Amanda & Mark 😍
We have a small motorhome that’s how we came across your channel on UA-cam, looking to do our first cruise but don’t fancy going anywhere near the bay of biscay, any suggestions might try the Caribbean first for a couple of weeks but Southampton sounds very good idea
@@PetePoole Hi Pete, of thats lovely, really hope our Motorhome videos have helped you find some lovely places to visit. As far cruising, well our first one was a fly-cruise and stay from Cyprus around Turkey and Greek Islands. We have been two the Caribbean twice, once was on a transatlantic cruise which we loved. We do want to go back though as there are still islands we have not visited yet. We have done Japan, Taiwan and China as well as the Mediterranean, Canaries and a few others but we have always seemed to go early or later in the year. We actually have one booked for June which will be a first and this is from Southampton again going to the Baltics and Scandinavia. We know what you mean about the Bay of Biscay though so think you need to think about how long you want to go for, whether you want more Ports than sea days, how far you have to travel to get to the cruise, whether you want drinks packages, if you have a budget etc etc. We have enjoyed all of ours (except Amanda wasn’t too keen on the Carnival Line one we did!!). If you need any help, we have literally just set up a little travel business so please feel free to email us dymondtravelagents@gmail.com with any info and we can have a look for you - we also have an Instagram and Facebook page - Dymond Travel, where we are posting different cruise providers and holidays in general - we literally started last week 😂 No pressure 😍
Thank you so much 😊 We've done a handful of Marella cruises (previously Thomson!) but not since covid. Where did you cruise too? We're having fun trying out all the different lines and really enjoyed MSC Euribia back in November so much we've booked to go on MSC World Europa this year with our family 😍 Thank you for watching - Amanda & Mark 😍
@AdventureswithAmandaandMark we got back from SE Asia last month. Up to our necks in video editing at the moment, so we appreciate the work involved. Keep up the good work.
Hi Carolyn, the second video was out the following week and is in the P&O Iona Playlist entitled “Delayed 36 Hours”. Hope you managed to watch it and find out what happened next. Thank you for watching the first part ☺️ Have you been on this ship? Amanda & Mark 😍
Really enjoyed watching your informative video. I picked up on the fact that you have carnival shares which I have too, but I was under the impression that you couldn''t have the shareholders benefit if you already have an offer of onboard spend. Have I got that wrong? just wondered because I am due to go on Arvia and have over £500 onboard spend and wasn't going to bother with my shareholders benefit but I think I might try now
Hi Claire 👋🏻 Thank you so much. That's a very good question and we never even thought about it! We booked this cruise whilst onboard our Christmas cruise in 2022 when we were told about the shares and then bought them when we got home. We spoke to our Travel Agent and they told P&O and we got the Brokers to deal with putting the request through. Nobody mentioned OBC and the share perks were added a week or two before we went away. We've had a quick look at the shareholders info and it only says if you have a travel agent reduced cruise or complimentary one or the like that you don't get them 🤔 Definitely worth checking though and we hope you do get yours. Thank you for watching - Amanda & Mark 😍
Thanks for your prompt reply. I booked through P&O so will definitely try. I've used the shareholders benefit before but didn't have onboard spend and certainly worth having@@AdventureswithAmandaandMark
Hi John, we’ve done two with Royal Caribbean, both transatlantic and thoroughly enjoyed them - their speciality dining was amazing. Mark was of the same opinion with the first cruise we did with P&O on Azura in the Canaries but he says his opinion has changed since going on this cruise on Iona but he still favours Royal Caribbean. Have you done any other cruise Iines? We did MSC out of Southampton and will be going on a Princess one from there later in the year too - our first one with them!
