im not saying mariah never lipsyncs BUT I don't think its nearly as often as people try to say it is. yes people she is actually just that good (most of the time), she's freakin Mariah Carey . if she can belt a specific note or do a crazy run once in a studio somewhere chances are she can probably reproduce it live exactly the same time and time again... because she's freakin Mariah Carey. if she wants to change up an adlib or the way she sings a verse in a song she can because she is just that good. a lot of people cant appreciate variation, they want it exactly the same everytime. how boring
The backing track on this performance is very evident. However, the outro is completely live! There are a few moments where she seems she's about to lose it, but she doesn't. It's little slips like that that make me love her performances. Aaaah~ Go Mariah!

In my opinion, it was live until the belting which was pre-recorded as you can hear some imperfections so she was obviously trying to make it sound live

Theres parts in this esp at the end where you can tell its not lipped. Her vocals sound different and more husky in places than they did when this album came out
I was so blessed to be able to be there that night and see Mariah in concert for the first time! She was so amazing. I will never forget it. It was definetly one of the highlights of my life!

She understood that when her voice was very husky on medium and suddenly become clear in the belts, people were like "There's something weird", she understood that aand now add some rasp flavor in her lipsync parts. 2:54 is the beginning of the trick......I'm so disapointed by her, she should assume how her voice now sounds.

There are a couple of notes that are off during the belted moments, where her voice sounds huskier.... so I think that she is just amazing - but that its actually live. Yeah... she's actually THAT good. Notably when she says "she's a damn fool" and "if you LISTEN to me.." the i in listen is huskier than the album....

We never said it was identical to the studio version => Because it is mixed with raspier edited vocals, which are not even more live than the rest. And lots of notes of the climax are the belts of the studio version. Open your ears, if you watch every performance of that song during that tour (AAT), the husky moments are exactly the same => not live.
if u wanna know if it live or not, look at mariahs face, seriously, im an obsessed fan and when she lipsyncs her facial expressions are just very different from when she sings live. and i duno if u realised it but she also waves at the crowd more coz she doesnt need to focus much on her voice so there more interaction with the crowd during the song lol

Your videos are great! i was right by the asile so i had to keep mi camera under my shirt so i woildnt get cought. I only got audio on most of them.
