Tous les films de cette époque était de véritables œuvres d'art ayant nécessité beaucoup de travail.
Quel film, quels acteurs dans l'action. Pas d'effets spéciaux, la séance de l'ecopage parfaitement restituée. Un chef-d'œuvre. Et merci Mr Gabin de m'avoir demandé de vous indiquer le chemin pour entrer dans l'arsenal de Brest un jour d'orage de 1975 alors que je faisais mon service national.
Dis donc mon gars c'est par où la porte Cafarelli ? Vous avez ouvert la vitre de la 504 bleue je m'abritais tant l'averse était forte et sans vraiment vous voir j'ai reconnu votre voix inoubliable. Un grand souvenir de ma vie.
Images exceptionnelles sur le métier de mon grand-père ! Je regarde cet extrait régulièrement sans me lasser...
un morceau de film remarquable. Montrer quelque chose qui est désormais perdu pour nous !

Ce film est un trésor ! ....souvenir ému de mon père : mécanicien sur locomotive à vapeur ( atelier COMESSA à Saintes ) bombardé en 1944 .....
J'aime Jean Gabin, j'aime les trains et j'aime les vieux films, même ceux en noir et blanc, car ces derniers mettent de la couleur dans le désert culturel d'aujourd'hui. Cette séquence du film « La Bête humaine » est franchement saisissante, autant que le personnage de Jacques Lanthier joué par Monsieur Gabin.
Les chefs d oeuvres du cinéma sont intemporels la bête humaine la grande illusion n ont pas pris une rides .
Jean Gabin qui enfant habitait chez sa grand-mère à toujours rêvé de conduire une locomotive.
Et puis RENOIR...
Un joyau un chef d oeuvre du cinéma un drame sur fond de chemin de fer jean gabin blanchete Brunoy Fernand Ledoux Julien carette Simone simon et l héroïne principale la lison pacific 231 la plus belle et performante locomotive a vapeur .

Ah Jean Renoir ne fut pas le plus mauvais de nos cinéastes :) On parle de notre âge d’or ici :) Gabin y est formidable.
Merci à Patrick Brion et son Cinéma de minuit grâce à qui j’ai, avec beaucoup d’autres, pu découvrir tant de chef d’oeuvres.
Document extraordinaire à 1:57 : prise d'eau en marche, spécificité du réseau Ouest-État.

Oui peut après l'unification du réseau ferré de France en 1937,! Remarqué bien sûr les vagons s'est écrit "ETAT "(ancien reseau Ouest Normandie )
Acteur et également mécanicien car Gabin conduisait réellement la locomotive.

Un dur métier. Ce genre de locomotive consommer 6t de charbon pour parcourir 200km environ..imaginez le travail du "chauffeur " tout ça à la pelle !! 20 par minute !! L'eau ,la pression ( compteur Flament ) etc.etc..Arrivée en gare du Havre cela en 1938 ,il n'en reste rien aujourd'hui ! Magnifique vues !!

Minimal footplate space on these engines compared with contemporary British and American express locomotives is evident.
Noise level and heat have been pretty overwhelming, too.
i don't believe there's less footplate space than on british engines in there.
@@hugos5114 Probably rather more footplace space on these French locos than on British ones, as the French loading gauge would have been rather more generous.

Ça me rappelle mon père spécialiste de la ligne Paris Metz blainville Lunéville Reims Nancy si il ressuscitent il se souviendrait au km tant il fallait faire ça ou ça il avait une mémoire prodigieuse il aurait bien repris du service comme il disait cela avait du bon et de lui répondre t en connais beaucoup qu il le ferait moi pas j en ai connu une qui l à fait dans une association elle a préparé le foyer elle l à fait une fois pas deux comme elle me le disait je ne sentais plus mes bras le lendemain

Vinicius Most steam locomotives had to stop at a water tank or spout to refill the tender's tank every so often. This operation, however, allows the train to keep rolling while it gets 'topped off' enabling a tighter schedule from point 'A' to 'B'. The fireman manually throws the long lever to lower the tender's water scoop AFTER the engineer signals him. You can see the long trough between the rails filled with water that if properly engaged, can add several hundred gallons (liters) to the water compartment in the tender without having to stop. Notice however, they BOTH raise it BEFORE the water trough ends! This is probably railroad LAW for a failsafe reason. If that scoop doesn't raise back up in time, it could dig into the ties (sleepers), break off and derail the whole train. This is a French railroad & film so I'm uncertain of details & the proper terminology for the Engineer, fireman, tender, etc. But I hope you get a better understanding, somewhat. Some U.S. railroads (Pennsylvania RR, for one) used a similar system back in the same time period. Pretty cool, eh?

I think it's a 'Pershing' (SNCF 140 G) built in America for use in France in the First World War.

Vor dem Zweiten Weltkrieg gab es in vielen europäischen Ländern (Österreich, CSR und anderen) auf den Straßen Linksverkehr, so auch bei der Eisenbahn. In Frankreich gibt es bei der Bahn m.W. Links- oder Rechtsverkehr, je nach Region. Das ist auch heute noch so.

Was Du geschrieben hast, ist mir trotz meiner zurückliegenden mehr als 40 jährigen Dienstzeit bei der DR nicht bekannt. Von den unterschiedliche Spurweiten in anderen Ländern, Spanien und Russland weiß ich, aber das war mir unbekannt. Habe nochmals Dank, ich freue mich, noch etwas gelernt zu haben.
