Wonderful, Scotty! Wish I was back there with you. River is a bit more swollen than when we crossed a few weeks ago. So glad you really enjoyed the experience....
Just looking at it again, how different this forest is from the coast of Tarkine. All that moss and lichen, which covers the trunks of trees, rocks, rotting timbers, what I termed the "green gossomer," is so awesome, soft and velvety. The drone footage has added (truly!) depth to the forest in an amazing way.
For anyone who can't seem understand what we are so concerned about, this is not your usual eucalyptus-dominated forest. In that you have fire being an essential element. Eucalyptus both needs and promotes fire for its regeneration. Here, in "Old Growth" forest, the ecology is totally different. It has taken many, many generations to become what it is - a repository for ancient species of numerous kinds. You will not get them back if you destroy them!
Help young people in experiencing this at first hand, together with understanding their responsibility in preserving it, then you help them to grow in their life purposes also. Rebuild that sense of awe, the wow factor, the sense of belonging to everything.
At least, this is my humble opinion having "done the walk." Thanks Darvis for provoking me into taking that bold first step!

"Green Gossomer" I love that term, it paints such a Magically etherial picture!
      Keep safe,
      Warm regards
      Scotty 😊

'ello Scott! Great video! Loved the editing, the lush environment, and your honesty and vulnerability regarding water. At first when you mentioned - - crapping your pants - - lol, I was thinking of this video: ua-cam.com/video/rQ9qsXu34SM/v-deo.html but once I saw your emotions regarding water, I thought - - maybe I shouldn't share that video - - but then when you recovered, I thought - - ehhh, he'll probably get a laugh out of it! - - hope so anyway! Way to go facing your fears! What prompted your move to Tasmania from South London? Always find it interesting why people move from their original home bases (unless it's too personal of course)... Cheers! Sue Slater 💂‍♂️👑💂‍♂️

      G,day Sue,
I love the "oops I crapped my pants" segment, very much up my street as far as sense of humour goes!
How did I go from south London to Tasmania?
Well It wasn't a well thought out plan or anything premeditated. It's just where I ended up after many different adventures in many different places. The wind blew south and I followed. The best random decision I ever made😂

      G.day Sue,
You gotta live true. No point in trying to be something or someone you're not. Besides everyone else are already taken😂
You only get one crack at life, so you may as well try and make it an authentic one!
My heart has seldom lead me down the wrong path. And when it has its always been a bloody good adventure all the same!
      Live long & prosper👌🏻
