The problem is that these things that may have been luxuries back in the day are necessities now and much more expensive than they used to be. They may be optional but your life will be significantly harder and less enjoyable. It's easy to say cut back these things to save money but you're asking people to not socialise, not go out, not spend money on things that facilitate modern life, how can you simply not use transportation, not occasionally go out with your friends and partner, not use technology? Everything costs money, and everything costs more than it used to, meanwhile pay has not increased to keep up, the middle class is disappearing and people are being pushed into poverty. We live in first world countries, we should be able to afford everyday life and earn enough money to pay the bills and enough left over to put into savings, treat ourselves and have some fun. And while, yes, some people do spend too much money on going out, design clothes, takeout delivery and unnecessary things, that is not most people
Not to pick nits, that 3% surcharge is to the merchant, not the customer. Some places offer a "cash discount" but otherwise, everyone is paying the same if it is debit card / cash or credit card. Love the pod
Respectfully, I think people like you seem to have a misconceived notion about what they see online. My dad would’ve failed as a parent if he raised me to not work/want to work and depend on him forever. Appreciate you watching though
