Jamie, thank you for all of your demonstrations. Everything you do has enhanced my EMDR training for my clients with trauma. I'm so appreciative for your willingness to share.
I wish I found a therapist like Jaime. She is a very trauma informed therapist and KNOWS how to treat people with C-PTSD and PTSD. I love her Trauma and the 12 steps.
What surprises me is that in the EMDR course, we were taught to teach calm/safe STATE, specifically NOT to be confused with calm/safe PLACE. Confusing.
So is this almost putting him into an ultra calm, mildly sedated state? That is wild. Did not know this happened. I’m supposed to be starting this prep work soon.
For Safe Place, no. But in a separate exercise you can use compassionate/wise/nurturing/protecting figures to form your 'team' to connect to when you need their strength or specific qualities.

Thank you so much for this video! I found it really helpful.
EMDR is great. It helped me a lot. It’s been a while but I remember doing very similar stuff. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for all your demonstrations
I love how you break this down. Way better than my training. You have a new subscriber. 😊

Thank you for this.
Can you have a person instead of a place as a safe space?
it is not advisable, it should be a place without other identifiable people
