I like your shade house. I’m sure the orchids like it too. Thanks for sharing. It’s amazing to see sun flowers that Hugh the beginning of June. We won’t see sun flowers that big here in Ohio til August 😊. 👏🤗
The sunflowers really attract a ton of pollinators! The Tithonia (Mexican sunflowers) are just getting going as well and will show up in future videos soon!
I really like the layout and I've been strongly considering doing something similar in my backyard to protect my cacti and succulents from the Texas summertime heat and sun. Thanks for the ideas!
Nice idea about photos at time interval to see where sun hits directly. Good to do for placing any plant in a garden. I really like that your orchids are not all “perfect”. They are really themselves with imperfections that occur even in their own natural habitats. Off to photo my yard as sun shines on it today. Rain expected tomorrow for 3 days on and off.
very smart taking photos of the sun through the day for two reasons. 1) so you can easily see exactly where you can place plants 2) If you have to move them all in come winter, you know exactly where you can put them out next year.
Hi Steven😌🙌Yes, that sun gets in the spaces and burns right. I have a similar set up with the 70% shade cloth on a mini greenhouse that is extended with poles on my balcony. I love the purpurata🥰
Nice job! Great idea taking photos seeing where the sun path goes. I need to do that for my porch. I dont usually put any of my orchids outside. Although i have on a few non- bloomers to try to force blooms! Still didnt work! All that happend was they got ate up with scale! 😂🤦♀️ really enjoyed the video! 😊
North Central Florida hot and dry in May and on June 1. Greehouse is really hot using water everyday for 15 minutes on the granite floor for humidity. Shop fans for airflow...(?)

Couldn’t have ended up any better..❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! I'm pretty happy with it!

No problem! What part of the State are you in?
@@SVKLOrchids I'm just north of Houston. BTW, I watched both parts of your build videos and thought it was great the whole family leant a hand!

Thanks! I'll have to re-evaluate the sun when the sun starts migrating south again!
Looks great 👍 . Clean, simple, and effective!
Thank you!😃

Your humidity will allow more sun exposure on the Catasetums! But a good shadecloth (50-60%) will help prevent the leaves from burning.
You could hand a couple of the Cyrtopodiums on the Deer rack.
Ha! Hanging some orchids from there is a good idea!
Nice set up !!
Thank you!😃
Looks good
Much appreciated!
at 12:19 you Catasetums are in shade then full shade my Catasetums are almost in full or bright sun all day. So what to do?
My Catasetums get 55-60% shade most of the day! It's very bright in there by plant standards. Where do you live, again?
