We haven't tested this; we have a couple of videos where we test how quickly it takes to make four lattes on these styles of machines ... steaming and brewing it's about 5 minutes for four lattes. Generally, the time it takes you to grind, dose and tamp will be enough for it to recover for the next shot, so it's more about how quick you are. Hope that helps! :) - Kat
The shots on the Oscar are just awesome, though. It's not an E61 but the temp is excellent. We're going to experiment with a method for descaling the Oscar that was recommended to us, so if we are able to do it, that 'con' might be moot. - Kat
Right now, no; but we have an Outlet section of our site -- keep an eye there for any returns. We won't likely be selling our demo Oscar for awhile - Kat
Great video! I originally decided on the Oscar but in the end I went with the Rocket Espresso Giotto Evoluzione Espresso Machine V2 because this will probably be the last machine I purchase. I didn't want to deal with descaling the Oscar (flipping on side), I like stainless and some day I will plumb the Evoluzione. I love my E61 Rocket!
Hi, I am having an Oscar and still looking for a good grinder. People usually pair it with Grinta but I personally prefer a grinder with dose. Is Rancilio Rocky Doser a better choice?
I don't love that model because you have to grind a lot for the dosing functionality to work well. You might want to consider choosing a grinder that has a timing dosage adjustment - like the Baratza Vario - that you could then set your 'dose' for based on a time value - Kat
I heard you are going to make a video on descaling the oscar, is it done yet? I really want to know how to descale the oscar since it has no hot water dispenser. Thanks!
I've recent picked up a Fracino Cherub. Semi rocket looks, 2.3 litre boiler on a heat exchanger, and it has a hot water tap. In the UK it comes in about the same price as the NS oscar, but is much better looking, has more features and IMHO is better built.

Oscar plumbed in is a vibratory pump, but you need to be sure to use a reducer to reduce the line pressure so that it does not harm the pump. ~ sam

Gail is experimenting with it and we're planning to shoot it at the end of the month, so it will post in early February. - Kat
People often pair the Grinta with it; The Baratzas would be a good choice, too. - Kat

Gail is testing it out this week and, if she can get the right process, we'll shoot something. Until now, we've not been able to. - Kat

I love watching your videos you both are hilarious, and very knowledgeable about the products.
Do you guys not sell the Expobar machines? I have an Office Control and am curious how it compares to the Oscar and other home HX machines.
About how long before you ladies try this method to descale the Oscar? I could sure use a video for help!! :)
is the plumbed-in version of the Oscar uses rotary pump??
Yay!!! Great choice :) - Kat
do you have any open box or store model of the oscar for sale kat??
It costs a lot of time / money to get it certified and a lot of folks don't want to do it because of that. - Kat

Can you steam and pour a shot at the same time with these machines?
Hello Christusolus, Yes, you can simultaneously brew and steam with both the Oscar and Cellini Classic. ~ Sarah
Seattle Coffee Gear thank you
No, we don't sell them - Kat
NS Oscar in Europe - 545EUR, CC in Europe - 1050EUR. Suddenly I don't mind the plastic.
No - none of them are rated for commercial use - Kat
not actively heated brew group. thermosyphon-heated...
Of course this dispenses hot water . . . you just put your cup right under the grouphead without the portafilter in place and press dispense.
I would take the rocket. Not even close.
Seem to be made to commercial standards more so than this! What's the deal??
