  • The Benjamin Gunnar is a new product from Benjamin Airguns. They’ve taken a page from some much higher end airguns and have created an AR style airgun with high shot count, regulated power, variable power adjuster, excellent trigger, and a whole lot more. We only had a little time before the weather rolled in, so we are sharing with you our results right out of the box as we get into testing this new platform from Benjamin.

Looks like a cheaper version of the FX If it came with a carbon tank it would be worth the 1000 I would spend $400 more and get the wildcat 30 I’m very happy with mine no issues at all Just my opinion thanks for the review

I went with AEA HP max 357 by fox air power and for $600 it's one mean ar type pcp.

I see it but I don’t believe it. The tactital polymer version of my Benjamin Kratos. Rick i have been asking you to review the Kratos forever and now you technically have. This thing looks killer, the only thing it leaves wishing for is more FPE. Great review, Rick.

A very nice preview. Thanks to Rick!
I like the looks of it very much. And what makes me drawn to it even more, is what Rick said: "not boringly accurate". I have always been a bit reluctant to concider to buy really expensive, high-end accurate PCPs. The more accurate, the better as a tool - but I'm more into just tuning, fixing and recreational shooting.. I bought the Sig Sauer Virtus as my first PCP. A replica, and based upon a co2 platform - so it never got any high chances to be one of them highly accurate PCP rifles to begin with. But it surely has been a blast to own and fiddle around with just to make it better. So I wouldn't mind either owning one of these. Shot way well enough for me. Cuz seemingly it was quite windy - and the wind changed during shooting. Not bad Rick!!🙂👍🏻👍🏻

I like the look of the gun. But for 1000 Bucks it would be nice. if it came with a carbon fiber bottle. The benjamin kratos is only 600 Bucks and it's probably getting the same shot count and better accuracy. Cool video Rick

From what I have seen so far it maybe a little overpriced for the accuracy it gives. I have watched several videos on this platform and so far not an over the top feeling like I had with the Avenger or G2 to be fair. For the money I would like a better barrel. I like the features and the layout a lot. 3K fill is lower than it could be and sacrifices many potential shots. For the cost v/s the build cost…they could have given us way more imho. Velocity is lower than it should be. The groups could be a ton better for 1K$.

I’ve shot a few “AR” frame airguns and this is one of the lease expensive. I’ll be curious to see how it plays out.

Great shooting preview Rick! But at that price point there are a lot of comparisons that need to be done! Especially the Euro Kral Puncher Walnut or chasis version at about 700 - $800. Is this the same air rifle with a Upcharge of 200 - $300 for a 5 year warranty!

I owned the kral puncher dazzle that this Benjamin takes after for 350 dollars more. Only difference is the Gunnar has a reg

I meant to say I own the kral version of this and the kral is 350 cheaper with two removable tanks. I get 220 shots 915-870 with 16grain 😎

Impressive tactical for Benjamin but pricey for it. I hoped for a bigger magazine like the Dreamline and Factor.

Yeah for a $1000 there's a lot of options Out there. It may not have the Side cocking lever action. For instance A BSA R10SE. It's an older rifle that's been out for a while but it is one hell of a shooter. Even to this date it's an extremely accurate rifle But you could buy one of those for a 1000 bucks also. Or a Daystate Huntsman with Huma reg. I guess it simply depends on what you want. Weirauch HW100ST GET OVER LOOKED alot too. And that's a pretty awesome shooter. For the same price.

    in the air gun world
lol .... they say everything comes in 3s
    the bulldog .357
    the Umarex hammer .50
    the hatsan blitz full auto.
    now i have all 3 ,
but the hatsan blitz works when it wants too,
i wont send it back ill just find a air guy to fix it.
    so im thinking hmmmm ..
could this new gunnar take its place.......... for now.
i love the way this gun operates clean an to the point!
    however,
if this gun had the power of the hammer id buy 2 right now!

Heavy aluminum bottle for that much money 💰?? For another $150 there is FX Airmaks etc. etc.
Turkish manufacturers are stepping up though.

I gotta say.... They F'd up by making the reg adjustment the way they did. Big time oof. Never would I buy a rifle that needs the bottle removed (with tools) to adjust the regulator. This could have been a decent platform but that killed it. Also..... price point is about $250 too high for what it is. Eww.

Few points of note. This was a preview of my process and an early look at the Gunnar, not the review. Why is it some folks have such a hard time getting that point? Also, and I believe we’ve spoke to this many times, I always just shoot a product before doing anything to it. I’m sharing with folks the various levels of testing that go into the final review. This was day one. There’s a lot more work yet to come. If you don’t approve if my process that’s fine. I’ve been doing things this way from the beginning and I don’t have any intention of changing. I want to know what a product does raw out of the box. From there I may or may not take other steps. That’s how I work and will continue to do so.
      Cheers

This is why I generally don’t respond to posts like this. There’s no point to it given your rejection of my explanation. You are not trying to help, you were trying to make your own point. But for the sake of those that read your accusatory comments and come away with the wrong Impression, I will continue to reply in the hopes that folks get what I’m doing and why. I don’t need you to agree or even like my methods. But they are how I do things and will continue to do so. For those that look forward to the next video on the Gunnar, we’ll be expanding the accuracy tests and probably tuning the reg up a bit. As for the barrel, I have already cleaned it in preparation for the next round of tests. As a note, it was not bad at all. Only needed a few patches. Weather looks good for the next couple of days. If I can get a window, I’ll be shooting it some more. Full review to be out later this month.

You know in my opinion the only thing that that are rifles got going for it is that it is regulated I am more of a traditional guy I like the Woodstock I like a forearm on a gun or air rifle that you could hold instead of a bottle I'm not the fan of an AR-15 machine-gun looking air rifle I would never buy this air rifle

The gun is not worth the asking price. The barrels are trash the 25 caliber has the wrong twist rate for pellets. They have sub par accuracy. Look ar reviews from guys who paid for the rifle and the real story comes to light
