You play this so well! Ah! It's very hard. Could you make a tutorial for Booker by Harry Connick Jr? It's a more funk vibe than Muse, but I would like to see someone play it since there are no live performances of it. (The beginning is simple, but the middle is crazy)
The middle section by ear, because there were no good tutorials with this part. Same about ending, where I've tried my best to be as close as possible to original song. I've learned intro and quick piano section from other tutorials and then adjusted it by ear to original
two years late but maybe i can still help you out: to remember what notes to do with the left one, just reach the D# and do every single one until the D# an octave below. To nail them, just practice at low speed. Most of piano hard tricks boil down to that. If you really can't, I suggest you only do the notes on the higher octave. It's far smoother and you can barely hear the difference.
I learned it mostly watching other tutorials, then adjusted it by ear. Middle part and ending I arranged only by ear. I didnt use any sheets and I have no clue if you can find them in official muse piano book. I'd say yes cuz that song was arranged for piano, but I may be wrong
Well from what I hear this isn’t exactly the perfect studio version. Especially the pre chorus, it seems like it’s been adapted from the studio and some absolutely stunning love recordings at which Matt just rips like the stunning deity he has somehow manifested into his skills and natural talents
WoW ! This is amazing ! Do you think even without knowing piano (or read music) it would be possible to learn it ? I learnt just by watching Follow me and Uprising... So wondering if that one would be ok. Thanks and congrats for the good job !
I learnt piano just through applying the music theory I learnt by playing guitar. No sheet music involved. But you do need to understand scales, modes, intervals and all the relevant chord changing tricks and substitutions to make sense of a piece like this.
I’m it sure if you actually used a piano or if it was an electronic keyboard (if the latter, then that might explain what I’m about to say) -while this is a very technically and musically impressive cover, I do have one flaw with it unfortunately. In the original, Matt is practically torturing his piano; every note from about the 50 second mark onwards is hit with an angry ferocity that this just doesn’t capture. That having been said, it’s still a brilliant cover and I really enjoyed listening to it
I recorded that after 10 years of break from piano. Ur actually right but remember that most of the time he's actually standing not sitting. A lot of this power comes from that. I would also not smash my piano so hard (not enough funding for another one xD)
Honestly about 40-50 hours. I'm not the pro piano player. I also came back to piano 2 years ago (when I started this channel) after 10 years of break. My hands were totally dead when I recorded this one.

I don't really use sheet music, but here's a rough breakdown of the chords for those interested
Intro: EmM7- C - F# - B9
Verse: Emadd9 - B7/F# - G/Emadd9 - Amadd9 - Bm7 - F#7/C# - D6 - B7/D#
Chorus: Em - Edim - B5/Eb - Dm - Ddim - A5/Db - C6 - B7 - E - G6 - A7 - D - F6 - G7 - C - F# - B - E13 - FM7#11 - F#7 - Bsus7 - B7 - B7#9
first one is not EmM7, it's a simple Em8, and after F# it's not B9 it's a B7
@@iancartier77 what the heck is an Em8
