I thought I was over the abuse I went thru when I was around age 7. I grew up feeling guilty. I acted out, I was exactly like you Rosie.....i was the black sheep of the family segun according to my mom..until I spoke up around 15/16 and my mom said it was just un capricho, I did go to school spoke to the counselor and they of course got the cops involved...they couldn't really do much..he didn't have a warrant etc...my mom decided to not pursue anything and well he is still free.. I felt like I had gotten over it..until I saw mariposa de barrio. And I quickly started having flash backs, and I wanted to scream. Shout. Cry. I was just recently diagnosed with CPTSD...and I know I have to get closer to God to heal. Thank you Rosie for being you. You are helping me heal...in something as simple as a show..I was able to meet you and heal, thank you for accepting your calling ❤🙏🏼

Still to this day I've never told my family. Up until a couple years ago my sister told me she went through the same with the same person. He always told me that if "let him, he'd leave my sister alone". It broke me even more. He ended up moving back to Guatemala and I regret not saying anything because I fear he might be doing it to others over there.

I just recently finished watching Mariposa de Barrio. I knew nothing about your family and the sexual abuse and how family reacted to the abuse really hit home with me. I was sexually abused by my paternal grandfather. I told my parents at 5 years and thankfully, my parents believed me but a lot of my Aunts and Uncles did not. It really tore my family apart. I just want to say thank you for sharing your story.
You know what Rosie this episode really touched my heart, I was sexually abused by my stepdad that helped my mom raise me, and I loved him with all my heart, he started abusing when I was about 5 yrs old n it continued for about 7 years...I never told ANYBODY about this because I always stuck up for my dad(I considered him as such)n I LOVED HIM ABOVE IT ALL, n the reason I never told anyone was because I felt guilty for loving him da way I did....he passed away 2 years ago n I didn't even cry, I was actually relieved but now I'm having an issue with being intimate with my husband n I'm going to therapy to help with all this, I just would appreciate if u could have me in prayer because I feel like my marriage is in trouble....Well thank u in advance, may GOD continue to bless u n keep using u for HIS glory 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you for this Rosie! I’m currently witnessing these hardships and it’s been one of the hardest experiences to live through even though It didn’t happen to me it makes me sick everyday to think of all the “family” you thought you could trust. I pray for healing for all especially the victims 🙏🏼
Rosie thank you so much for speaking out and being so strong. you truly are an inspiration. i was abused at a young age and as an adult. a lot of people around me did not believe me so i had to continue being around that person and act like nothing happened. i was so angry at my mom for allowing that. she was so over protective and she couldn't protect me when i needed it. i was so angry with her but now i understand i was only hurting myself. i would drink so much and drive, sometimes i would pass out a wake up in a random place. i did crazy things that now i regret but it was how i was showing my pain. now that i am a mother i have forgiven my mom but i have not forgiven my abuser, i have to see him once in a long while, ill act like nothing happen for my mom but i would never trust him

Your testimony is a great blessing I started watching la mariposa cuz my daughter told me to watch it and I really do not like to watch episodes but when she showed me one of the first episodes I got attached and after viewing a couple of episodes and finding out that this was really based on true stories I know that God is going to use this show and your podcast to bring bringing people to Christ continue to do what you are doing It's a great blessing May God truly bless you and your family

Me gusto mucho la parte, donde Rosi dice que está mal cuando un famoso es cuestionado por acoso sexual y es visto por la mayoría, como algo sin importancia!!!!!!!! Y de todos lo que dice, el punto en este video es la importancia de cultivar una relación con Dios, él nos da su espíritu que es la fuerza que todo lo soporta y todo lo perdona.
“Tía” Luisa is a not a good person, I’m sorry, if I was your dad I wouldn’t even have a relationship with a woman who defended the man who would abuse physically and verbally my daughter let alone sexually abuse my other daughter and grandchildren.

A mi , mi hermanas y primas nos pasó. Mi hermana menor fue la que por fin después de tantos años, ya estábamos entrando la high school, que por fin “ explotó”.
Haci fue, fue el esposo de mi abuela. mi abuela, mis tíos etc..... no nos creyeron. Nos rechazaron, nos humillaron.
Llegó el punto de que nos mudamos para otro pueblo donde no teníamos a nadie. Vivimos 9 meses y luego nos regresamos.
Mi hermana luego la mataron y en esos momentos no me recuerdo si fue cuando la familia por fin nos “ unimos” nuevamente.
Hasta el sol de hoy creo que hubieron más víctimas pero nunca a salido “ a la luz”.
Yo e intentado hablarle y advertirles a mis hijo Barrón, mis sobrinas etc... que LO CUENTEN!! Que hablen!! Que no lo oculten. Que si en algún momento alguien, sea hombre o mujer les toca de una manera que les Haiga sentir incómodo/as etc... aunque solamente sea un toque en los hombros, que no solamente dejen saber a esa persona de su incomodidad. Que hablen conmigo , que si yo no les creo, que sigan hablándo y busquen ESA PERSONA QUE TE CREA!!

Es lógico ( aunque no lo sea) que ella presione a chiquis, porque el padre abuso siendo bebita y como no recuerda absolutamente nada, no hay pensamiento ni recuerdos, me imagino que su visión de los hechos es diferente de los demás.

Thank you for sharing! It happened to me with 2 family members and til this day I haven't told my mom or grandma. Because I didn't speak out it happened to my little cousins (found out at the doctors too). And my grandma stayed with my grandpa even after the evidence. 😔

Mi hija tiene 9 años, es una niña muy lista, vimos la serie (yo siempre acompañándole y explicándole lo que sucedía de manera que lo entendiera a su corta edad, aunque es un alma vieja en un cuerpo de niña) me dijo al ver eso en la serie: "Mamá, una niña no puede inventar que alguien le hizo daño, los niños no tienen esa maldad, la tía debería apoyar a las niñas, también a Jenny, yo creo que sí se daba cuenta de que maltrataba a Jenny, también maltrataba a sus hijas. Ella también tendría que ser llevada por la policía porque no ayudó a Jenny cuando le pegaban, si la hubiera ayudado ese señor monstruo malvado no las habría lastimado más".

Le dije que cuando alguien hace una acusación debes hacer todas las investigaciones y mientras tanto alejar a la víctima para que no le hagan daño nuevamente, por primera vez o en represalia...
Es algo fuerte pero nunca es tarde para prevenir...
I totally understand this my mom asked me questions of who when where when I was molestes at a young age. I did not get why she asked if I had already healed and already forgave. But she told me something that now I understand. She said I would like to forgive that person so we can move on. I never understood it but now I do. As a parent you feel guilty for not protecting your child it’s also a process we’re u have to heal you have to forgive to be able to somewhat move on.
Saw the series 🦋 cried last night in last episode. I couldn’t watch the moments of abuse 🙏🏽 fast forwarded those. We all have a tia luisa. Denial esp from loved ones causes more soul damage than the abuse at times. 💗
