@@aboveitall4763 That's a great question and I think the answer is that Christ saw that the thief's heart was sincerely repentant and also trusting in Him and therefore he, the thief, was remembered by Christ.

Then the thief obviously believed and trusted Jesus as the Son of God who had a heavenly kingdom (see Luke 23:42). Jesus obviously knew what was in the man's heart at the time or else he wouldn't have told him "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with me in Paradise (Luke 23:43)". Use some wisdom to see what is going on in these verses. Just because something is not "specifically" said a certain way does not determine one's salvation. Repentance is a heart change about your sins toward God. Belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour is not just in words, although confession of such before men is an act of obedience, it's still after salvation. What if someone was a mute and wanted to repent and believe?

I was watching this video of Ray comfort sharing the gospel to a man named Harold. The exchange was wonderful and the man repented and believed right then and there. Lord willing this is true saving faith that he has and I pray this be so. After I thank the Lord for bringing the truth to this man and for giving him a heart to receive it, I scroll down the comments and one caught my eye and my heart and that was this “What a wonderful Saviour we have!”. This truth banishes all lies from the Devil, all self pity, all hopelessness and all despair. What a wonderful Saviour we have! May my mouth always utter these words! Oh what a wonderful Saviour we have! Thank you Father, for letting this truth stop me in my tracks, for stirring up my cold heart and moving me. Your Son is wonderful! Your Son is The Saviour! Your Son is a wonderful Saviour! How wonderful it is indeed to praise you for your Son, How wonderful it is indeed to praise your beloved Son, How wonderful indeed it is to use my mouth not to curse, but to praise and to give thanks to you! It is people like this which makes evangelising worth every bit of trouble. Maybe you will come across 50 or so people in your attempts to preach whom would ignore your message and perhaps even mock you and your faith...but if going through those 50 people means you can end up preaching to a man like this, it is worth it. I find this video very encouraging to all who try to convince everyone else about the power of the cross.

There is belief in Jesus christ and his sacrifice for our sins and acceptance of him as lord and saviour and there is a consequent turning from sin or repentance which each and every true believer must and will do .

Basically, Born Again Christians believe that Baptism is a public acknowledgment of your prior salvation, through the Holy Spirit. These words brings tears to my eyes, and warms this cold heart of mine.
I was watching this video of Ray comfort sharing the gospel to a man named Harold. The exchange was wonderful and the man repented and believed right then and there. Lord willing this is true saving faith that he has and I pray this be so.
After I thank the Lord for bringing the truth to this man and for giving him a heart to receive it, I scroll down the comments and one caught my eye and my heart and that was this “What a wonderful Saviour we have!”.
This truth banishes all lies from the Devil, all self pity, all hopelessness and all despair. What a wonderful Saviour we have!
May my mouth always utter these words!

Thank you Father, for letting this truth stop me in my tracks, for stirring up my cold heart and moving me.

It is people like this which makes evangelising worth every bit of trouble. Maybe you will come across 50 or so people in your attempts to preach whom would ignore your message and perhaps even mock you and your faith...but if going through those 50 people means you can end up preaching to a man like this, it is worth it. I find this video very encouraging to all who try to convince everyone else about the power of the cross.
