Troubleshooting Nest thermostat Rc (red) wire issue- no power detected problem. Fuse fix.

NEST thermostat. "WARNING REPORT. No power to the Rc wire detected." ERROR MESSAGE. Troubleshooting Nest thermostat Rc (red) power wire issue and finding solution- replacing a faulty fuse. Fuse failure occured by my own failure to turn off HVAC circuit breaker to HVAC before replacing the Nest thermostat- thinking I would be very careful and that I could swap the unit without that step.
