@@Bostonite1985 duh! That's sad! My situation got a little messy. I was practising this at my girlfriend's place. I wasn't able to break the coconut, however when I hit it, it flew and crashed right on her (my girlfriend's) granny's face who was sitting across the table grinding almonds with her manual grinder. She is dead, I'm screwed, but the coconut is still there.

I really love how you are truly promoting Indian style!! It is a great irony that we have all the best techniques in this world despite we are really underrated..
Yeah foreign people think we are weak they don't even think we are the oldest civilisation which is still surving. Economic growth will get us respect.
@8:05 "Aim farther than your target." is a generally good life lesson :D For example, when studying for exams. Or giving customer service. Thank you for such an educational and also dare I say, entertaining, video!
I really appreciate that you are talking in both Hindi and English. Many people in the North don't know much about Kalaripayattu...you talking in Hindi will help then get more informed and learn our traditional martial arts over foreign martial arts. I am not against foreign martial arts but don't want to see our own art be taken for granted.
Hello sir ,I'm so lucky to be born in India and learning these techniques that originated in our country.I really want to learn this ,since being able to break a coconut does come in handy ,no doubt the technique is so impressive.

😂...maybe you should use the stone for 100%...😂🙏 (Sorry..just kidding) . . It's all technique sir... If the impact of your hand and that of the stone from the bottom comes at the exact center...and at almost the same moment...it will break... But to execute the technique properly ... it will take practice....🙏😁 . . It took me 2 to 3 weeks to get the strike right..😂🤦♂️...when my father first taught it to me... 🙏thanks
Each of your videos really inspires me. Its not just a matter of doing it like everyone else, its just showing you how to do it. can i get permission to put this video in malayalam and show it on my channel.?
Holding the coconut above the surface before striking is like detonating atom bomb/H-bomb few hundred metres above ground. Like the coconut breaks due to the "double whammy" effect , detonating nuclear weapons few hundred metres above ground will increase its destructive power (due to constructive interference of primary & reflected shock waves). Knockout in martial arts like boxing , mui Thai , etc is also due to double whammy effect. Thanks for sharing this technique.
Dear sir I like this video and I like your channel and subscribed too. I don't know where are you from but I feel very familiar with you like a family members. I surprised to see your technique and skills. Wish you all the best I wish one day your channel will grow more and do make your videos as usual. Thanks & Regards Rahul
In Ancient Mushti yuddha which was an ancient martial arts or what we can call Indian boxing which had strikes , punches , kicks, grappling , elbow , knee use . In this art coconut was broking was done.
When breaking with the knife hand (side of the hand) do you hit with the metacarpal bone or do you tilt the hand slightly and put the (hypothenar) muscles of the hand between the bone and the object to be hit? If you're hitting with the bone then there must be a long time before breaking things in order to toughen that bone and make it harder and stronger.
Peace be with you. I know you asked the content creator but I see he's neglected your question. If I may answer your question, having trained daily from age four until my forties in martial arts, and in my past performed breaking demonstrations, it is the padded edge of the palm we strike with. Please tilt your hand slightly inward til the thick pad of the edge of the palm near the cuff is your point of impact. Do not impact near the distal end of the 5th metacarpal or you can break your hand. Do not impact very hard on the bony edge either as you'll injure yourself. I hope this helps you prevent injury to yourself.
I am going to practice this coconut breaking technique and put it in my resume. Wish me Good Luck.
Any luck yet?
