the magic bus was a bus that went from Amsterdam, in Holland, along the hippie trail, to Nepal [i think]. if you want to see a really great performer, you should check out the Group, Jethro Tull, live. their frontman, Ian Anderson, was a crazy performer. great fun to watch. tracks, Locomotive Breath and Aqualung are 2 to check out
Great stuff! Tho Who are an incredible band. You've got to hear their song Squeeze Box. It has one of the best banjo solos I've ever heard in a rock song.
"Magic Bus"! Heh, I used to listen to the Live at Leeds version all the time back in high school in the 80's. The Who released that album 50 years ago this year. I'm guessing the performance in this video is from around that same time. The cover of their album "Magic Bus: The Who on Tour" features a picture them climbing up the front, climbing out the window, and jumping out the door of a double decker magic bus. Groovy! The other stand out tune from that record is "Pictures of Lily". "Won't Get Fooled Again" is The Who's masterpiece, imo, while others says "Love, Reign o'er Me". I'm easy with both, but many others on YT have already reacted to those songs. I've yet to see a reaction to "5:15" or "Bargain" and rarely "The Real Me", "Who Are You", or "Behind Blue Eyes" among many others.
Rogers excellent vocals and harmonica..Pete's great guitar and phenomenal songwriting..John's Stellar Bass...Keith's Superb drums..THE WHO Rock! Great performance! ♥️♥️🎼🎶🇨🇦
"The Magic Bus" could refer to the bus driven to Woodstock by Wavy Gravy. The same bus was also the subject of a film made by the Merry Pranksters when Neal Cassidy drove it on a road trip while tripping balls. The Merry Pranksters hung-out with the Dead and the Airplane in the SF/Berkely summer of love. fyi
I love the early live stuff from The Who compared to their later high production stuff. Raw, high energy and bangin' like a runaway freight train. Must check out My Generation from their Live at Leeds album - EPIC.
Man there so many great food songs it's unbelievable check out The Who Live at Leeds and the song I want you to hear is called young man's Blues give it a listen you'll love it trust me
Wow. I've never seen a live version of this tune before. They really expanded the song man. When I was just a little tyke, I bought a 45 RPM record of this song cuz I knew I liked The Who. It was a very cool record. I dug it. As far as I know the bus is magic cuz it takes him to his baby so they can hook up. It's cool that you react to this Abracadabra. This was cool. You should check out the studio version too. It's got a wood block rhythm that sounds fantastic. Really drives the song in an unexpectd funky way.
I saw a doco on the Who ,Pete Townsend The guitarist, apparently he wrote all the songs and music ,then in his home studio he sang and played all the instruments then took that tape to the band as a demo and said this will be our next album. Pictures of Lilly ,I can see for miles ,Happy jack, Who are you ,Baba o'reilly, My generation ,Wont get fooled again and of cause Tommy the rock opera then Movie amongst others .
I love hearing reactions from the hip-hop community from the music I grew up on and love. It makes these songs fresh for me hearing them through your ears. Enjoying your channel and will subscribe. Best to you and yours! :)
One of the GREATEST live bands ever, got to see them on their first "Farewell" tour in '82...lol. Check out the "Live at Kilburn" videos from 1977 to see the Who live at the height of their ferocity and power!
I love your channel, my friend. I think you'd really like the band Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. They were a late-60s/early-70s supergroup of 4 musicians. I'd suggest the song 'Almost Cut My Hair' as an intro to their discography.
Yeah The Who was tough. You could make a serious argument for each member being the best there was in rock and roll. Listen to Tommy and Quadrophenia their album length rock operas, you won't regret it guaranteed.
Hadn’t seen that version before, much more emphasis on the. harmonica in this than others. Do have a look at the video of the Live at Leeds performance of this song - better atmosphere even if less harp!!
Check out Little Feat - “all that you dream” and I know you’ll dig “Spanish moon” ... both on the ‘“waiting for Columbus” album live ... you’re gonna want more
Pete Townsend said when he wrote Magic Bus some of it was about the increasing price of acid as in "Thruppence and Sixpence everyday just to drive to my baby"
Magic bus is just a bus. People very poor in uk in 60s 70s. Young guys had no cars so had to take public transit. All the magic buses after are named after this song. Magic seeing the one you love / lust for when young.
Good one, very nice indeed my man, they have unique songs. While you're added Abracatabra, at some point, listen to Hocus Pocus by Focus, live or studio or both, you won't regret it, it's similar era. Peace out.
Abracadabra, I can see you love the magical psychedelic music of the 60's and 70's. I do too! Have you heard this black rock band The Chambers Brothers do "Time Has Come Today"? Chambers Brothers - Time Has Come Today (Live extended version) - UA-cam
Sure would be nice....to see a reaction.....to The Who playing My Generation....at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967....and scaring the audience....with their antics.
at the top of their game you couldnt touch the Who live. I was fortunate enough too see the original Who line up and the show was pure adrenaline. From the line up before the show too the show man the people were amped up. Nothing violent or crazy just people ready for a great party. Dont give them a warm up band. Twice i saw the warm up band get so much shit at them they left in about 5 minutes. People wanted The Who and no one else. Great band my fave. But one thing i will say is are not the best. For me that title goes too The Kinks. But brother The Who were fire man. LONG LIVE THE WHO
The magic bus was of course referring to drugs, something easy to board but not always easy for some to get off depending on their 'addictive gene'. Have a listen to "Snow Blind Friend" by Steppenwolf
Man, if you like jammin' harmonica, sample some Butterfield Blues Band, or Magic Dick getting down on "Whammer Jammer" with the J. Geils Band. Maybe a little "Midnight Rambler" by the Rolling Stones. Some good harp blowing makes any song better.
I'm not trying to get all up in your business brother but what state do you live in? Your beautiful background reminds me of my grandparents place in Tennessee many years ago.
Do yourself a favour and find a copy of the movie "The kids are alright" - not the drama from a few years ago, but the earlier documentary about the Who. Lots of great concert footage, as well as a history of the band - it's well worth checking out. A fun fact: bassist John Entwistle hated this song - he found it too boring because he had to stay on the same note for so long.

There was also a magic bus that went from the Haight-Ashbury to Santa Cruz and back in the late '60s.
"I Can See for Miles" is another great Who song.
Oh, yes!
Great stuff! Tho Who are an incredible band. You've got to hear their song Squeeze Box. It has one of the best banjo solos I've ever heard in a rock song.
Squeeze Box , thanks for that , got it ✌😎
Haven't heard this in decades, jam trips...
Great job as usual
😎✌, thank you
Top notch reaction sir. Check out The Who "Young Man Blues" Live at Leeds. Tough AF.
Thank you , I will
My absolute favourite from The Who.....

This is known as the "Bo Diddley" beat.
Look for it all around, but get it from Bo.

The Who is a great live band. I've seen them twice live and each time it was a great show.
Great choice the who is classic rock personified. A true jam band. Hope you had a great holiday OOOORIGHT 😁✌
Their act at Woodstock was stellar. Check it.
"Substitute", " My generation", are iconic songs to react too. Thanks
"Who's Next?" is a desert island album for me. All killer, no filler.
Just like Jerry Lee...All "Killer"...no filler

Whammer Jammer by J Geils (Magic Dick and his Lickin Stick) Amazing Harmonica!!!!Loved your reaction...thanx ❤🙂

There's a lot of great live versions of this song, they liked to improvise on it so each version is a little different.
I love the live stuff. Keep it coming!

Great harmonica on “Room To Move” by John Mayall
Also Dr Feelgood.
I love hearing reactions from the hip-hop community from the music I grew up on and love. It makes these songs fresh for me hearing them through your ears. Enjoying your channel and will subscribe. Best to you and yours! :)
You should check out John Entwistle's isolated bass track from 'The Kid's Are Alright' film. Epic.
Super fun song...Glad you liked it....😸 I like how you switch it up with live versions you keep it interesting
So much different than studio thanks for playing this. A lot more bluesy
Love the reaction Abra, you always break it down just right. FYI: You should get their cd "Live at Leeds" for your own listening it's a real banger.
Live at Leeds , ok for sure , thank you
Love your videos keep it up man.
Thank you ✌🏾

Remember listening on the radio as a kid, in the car, loved it.
Greatest live rock band ever!
took me till i was older to appreciate the who
The Who are one of the all time great bands. If there was one album you should listen to i bet most if us here would agree it's Who's Next
Great song, great group!
I bet a few Iron Maiden songs would meet your approval. Fear of the dark, afraid to shoot strangers, Aces high and of course, Run to the hills.
I keep forgetthem , they have been suggested, so thank you for reminding me
Love you’re reactions!
I had a poster of Roger Daltrey on my bedroom wall, loved his hair 😍
Yeah The Who was tough. You could make a serious argument for each member being the best there was in rock and roll. Listen to Tommy and Quadrophenia their album length rock operas, you won't regret it guaranteed.
Definitely need to check out crass bloody revolutions 80s british punk rock but it still stands up now it'll blow your mind

That rhythm is the Bo Diddle beat!
You should check out "A Trick of the Light" and "Skip Kid" by The Who.
Pete had some serious stovepipe bell bottoms
Good morning to you my brother from another mother Peace and Love /*\ True North
You can’t go wrong with the Bo Diddley beat
Roger Daltrey taught himself how to play the harp.
Sorry I'm late lets get on that Magic Bus
You should listen to some stuff from their rock-opera "Tommy". It's about a pinball wizard.

Don't forget to react to TRIUMPH performing live in concert in Halifax Nova Scotia performing Fight the Good Fight, the video. Thanks brother.
Another variant on the Bo Diddley beat. Keith Moon was rock's greatest drummer.
The magic bus was of course referring to drugs, something easy to board but not always easy for some to get off depending on their 'addictive gene'. Have a listen to "Snow Blind Friend" by Steppenwolf
The Who was improv jazz amplified to 11
Look up The Who at the 2010 half time Super Bowl show.
