I was born in 1947 and my Dad drove truck for a living. He introduced me to Lee Moore, "Your coffee drinkin' buddy". I used to listen in my room at night on a station I could only get late at night. Brings back memories of my father.
Just stumbled upon this piece this A.M. what memories flood my brain from happy times growing up listening to WWVA and Lee Moore
Listened to Lee Moore in Eastern NC way back in the 60's.
Sure do remember driving around on a Saturday night as a teenager , even here in Eastern , Nova Scotia Canada tuning in Wheeling and listening to Lee Moore , it was after 12 midnight here , and the commercials on both the the Lee Moore show and the Doc and Chickie Williams show just as memorable , "yes ' Guaranteed a live and kicking 100 chicks , of different breeds , a simple time to be young but a great time , thanks for the memories . Jim Fitzpatrick

My grandfather often talked of this man and show and I've only recently found this again. Pretty crazy how many people heard it in Eastern Canada.
I remember listening to him at 2 or so in the morning and dad yelling turn that radio off I’m trying to sleep. Sure miss him and dad both
I always admired this man and his music. Listened to him out of Wheeling back in the fifties .
Some of my best memories of WWVA radio include a lot of Lee Moore, the coffee drinkin' nighthawk.
Wow, I remember listening to this station, WWVA getting a weak signal way up in Northern New York State, still remember that music !!

I remember my dad telling my brother and myself to tune down that damn radio as it was anywhere between 2 and 3 in the morning and he had to get up for work. Great memories dad laughed about it years later.

Thanks for posting. i just remembered WWV and the Coffee Drinking Night Hawk, UA-camd it, and rolled over in good country nostalgia. A bit of electronic magic to relive my rural Canadian memories of 50's teen age. I don't remember the simplicity of Lee and Juanita's offerings specifically, ,but listened more carefully with 80 year old ears. A Grateful Thanks Again.
I listen to the coffee drinken night hawk for many years going down to visit my grand parents farm in Pa. many fond memories
