Vaggie is a straight forward and can be harsh to people sometimes. But for Charlie she have only love, tenderness, care and support. That's what I adore in her the most: how can someone as tough as her, who have so dark and heavy past at the same time be so gentle and soft. They complement each other perfectly and it bond can never be broken, whatever happened.

My head canon is that this is the first time Charlie has heard Vaggie sing. Sure she had a couple of lines in "Happy Day in Hell," but that felt more like commentary than actual singing. Then Vaggie actually sung during "Whatever it takes," but only because no one else was around. It makes sense that she'd sing to Charlie when Charlie was at her most stressed, especially after the rather sudden reveal of what Vaggie was. And even notice the difference in how she sings between "Happy Day in Hell" and the later songs. She almost uses her normal speaking voice in the first one, but she pitches up when singing in earnest and sounds like what she is in the later ones.
And yes, this song was too damn short. I know there's runtime constraints but I don't care.

People who are familiar with Broadway musicals will never feel like expecting the new song for every episode and get mad at hearing the reprise ones. "Reprise" songs always feel special to me. It doesn't feel lazy or cheap. This is how they milk the full potential out of a song to create a whole new experience from it.
I personally think this kind of thing is the best part of the musical. Same song, same lyrics, different melody, different situation. You won't get the same thing from the same song in different circumstances.

The character development throughout this whole series is so enlightening. A truly heartwarming show and a big win for 2D indie animation.
I remember watching the pilot years ago but this series has been such a huge surprise and a delightful experience. I’m really excited for season 2, I just hope they get more episodes.
