The firefighter did a great job and so did the dispatchers they had a lot to keep track of. I am glad that I didn’t have to pick up all the hose lines they were all over the place.
According to News 12, there were 7 hydrants in the area and only 2 worked. They tried to bring fireboats up the Passaic River from Newark Bay but couldn't because of low tide.
@@notthatdonald1385 You're telling me. It could have been a lot worse if the fire had reached the next building which was a company that made pool and spa supplies.
@@cenz5842 paid departments is full time staffing and they're salaried , their actual job is firefighting, volunteers are people that have normal lives and when a call comes in all respond to grab a rig and go and don't get paid for it.
I guess E3's deck gun is out of commission. I can see not having enough to water to run the deck gun and supply ladder 1, but once they shut down L1 to move it, they would have opened up with the deck gun until E3 was otherwise ready to move, especially since they were drawing from one of the only 2 working hydrants. (I doubt it would have had much effect, though!) And is it just me, or does the volume of water coming out of the Paterson bucket truck (16:54-17:20 & 17:57-18:17) seem a bit on the low side?

So that's why they did those long stretches. They better apply for some of that infrastructure money.

Some one should get the axe for that.
@@yank-tc8bz Agreed.
There was literally a river 400 feet away from here with seemingly unlimited amount of water.
Great Job. Looks like Paper Mills Fire
These guys did a hell of a job!!!!
Wow, even called on the volunteer FD units great job by all teams and great job with the video. Thanks.
Passaic is only 1 of 3 paid departments in the area, every department around is volunteer, very common occurrence around here
whats the difference between us vollunteer departments and paid lmao? its the same thing ❤️

NJ seems to get some of the largest fires, its crazy.
That's one of the reasons I left NJ. I almost loose my mother to a fire.
Those old industrial cities have a lot of pre-war buildings that are firetraps. They go up in flames routinely.
I pray for a complete investigation of this fire. Thank you PFD for doing a great job. The city can rest knowing that you are in control.
Excellent job yet again brother

Only thing worse than dropping all that line is taking it back up. Nice catch on some of the grunt work that goes on at an extra.
Great footage. Thanks.
At 5 minutes 30 seconds in it shows a bucket shooting out two equally huge cannons ! 2k gpm and how many chauffers are needed to supply it ?
Awesome job Great footage
That wind is nuts
A photographer’s homerun.
I'm just glad nobody got hurt
More room for townhouses! When can we start digging!?
Damn , this reminds me of the Marcal fire.
Excellent footage sir! 👍
Merci 🇨🇦
Great team work guys!! This is dope

Looks like a smaller version of the Marcal fire. Isn't there a Shop Rite near by?

Call the County guys and get some tanks on the ground and trucks drafting for those aerial streams.
any water mains break over this area yet? usually happens after a mega fire like these
Was this fire close enough for fire boat support for water

How long did it take to put it out?
Looks like a real beast!
Did any of the canteen clubs respond.
Yes
I will be very interested to see what the arson investigation shows. Perhaps ATF also? Something just feels fishy here.
