Not quite right that the energy crisis started the bicycling trend. Copenhagen has been a bicycle city some 100 years from now. Getting around the capital of Denmark on a bike is faster than driving a car, so that’s why it’s the number one means of transportation here.

Well, it is actually true, the oil crisis of the 70s sparked huge changes in Danish urban development.
Bicycling was in decline in Copenhagen and Denmark since the introduction of cars, but especially the oil crisis of the 70s saw a huge revival in bicycling as an every day thing and subsequently huge strides were made to return cities cycle and pedestrian friendly status. Bicycles saw a huge drop in popularity between World War 2 and the 70s.
Cities like Copenhagen and Aarhus were being Americanized hard until the 70s and had massive boulevards and stroads going through them in the 50s, 60s and 70s many of which have been totally remodeled or even removed in the 80s and 90s to accommodate the change in priorities birthed in large part by the oil and climate crisis.

To be fair, this building wont be here 30 years from now, and that’s not exactly climate friendly

Sweet. I'm glad you value the fact of having born in such a sustainable and modern fairy-tale place. I think we always have to look at the rest of the world before complaining about our societies... Denmark is far from being perfect but is undoubtedly one of the best places in the world to live.

0:35 is a wrong example of a green building (at least the way they showed it), because green buildings are much more than covering the facade with solar panels. There are so much things to do to make a building energy efficient.

Is it true they have 65% income tax and a dwindling population paying income taxes.

The average tax for the general population is between 35 and 40% . For me as a retired civil servant with an income of some $60.000 s year it’s 35%. Before paying that, I can deduct some $400 a month before being taxed the 35%.
