This song touches me. Captures the crazy single-but-don't wanna-be mindset. She is dazzling, and the dynamics work perfectly.
thank you very much for kind words
FINALLY a ballad that makes me Feel Things. I worried I'd never see the day this year! I like how delicate her vocals are, it's very pretty and great expression. I hope their staging package is strong because there's potential here for something truly memorable.
Very good song and performer
This is a masterpiece!! Potential to win the whole Eurovision if they stage the song epic 🇦🇲🎻❤️
Im in love with this song this is my winner 12 Points from Spain
I love Armenia. This girl is very unique and amazing ❤
i love this one ❤
she touch my heart with her voice and voclas .
and the mix with the Orchestra its on top .
LOVE LOVE LOVE
top 5
This is very different so understandably not everyone likes it but if you give it a chance, it becomes addictive 🔥
yea i felt the melody coming through a lot clearer the second time
Any song is not for everyone
Love her performance😍In top 3 for me🤩👍
I've had it on repeat since yesterday, keeps growing on me
Me too, I love it
Same here
Same!
very modern and beautiful 💞
I love this song. The first listen I had my fancy headphones on and I got so many chills. I love her vocal and attitude. I like the styling as well. I agree that it’s not a winner and instant ear worm, but it’s a really good song and should have a great performance. It takes a bit to catch on.
Bonus of being sick is it makes your voice extra nice! Now is the time to record your voicemail, haha!
oh lol 😅
Thank you ❤ with big Love from 🇦🇲
I don´t mind the lyrics. Not everything needs to be deep and referential, I can feel the energy she is giving either way. For me the song is great and I hope she can perform the hell out of it. It has a great potential for staging and Armenia can do that. Definitely going into my first half of the lineup.
I have to admit I was a negative Nancy in the beginning but I think this year might even be stronger than the last one (personal opinion)
its the same pattern every year, the second half of the season almost always has the stronger stuff. for me the theme of this season is more experimental sounds
In my opinion this song has the best lyrics this year. The literal lyrics at the start of what she wants make it so much personal and relatable at the same time. She's not just talking in metaphors or weird scenarios like 'standing in the rain' and there are no lyrics here that feel like theyre just here for the sake of it, it's full and cohesive. For me the 'be good, do good, look good' line is really powerful and the repetitive emphasis on it enforces that even more. I LOVE that she was able to write this herself and made something unique, authentic, and new. I really wish more countries took this approach because I'm very tired of the Swedish songwriters writing the same types of songs with trite lyrics for like 15 years
Magnifique ❤
I quite like it; I don't know if everything works for me in the song but she does manage to keep my attention during the whole three minutes. Yeah the lyrics are a bit funny but I also see the charm here. And the way she serves attitude, the way the instrumentation builds and the climax in Armenian are all interesting. I don't think she'll have trouble qualifying unless the staging is disastrous.
omg i just got Greece 2018 flashbacks with their awful staging... also the issues with Portugal and Armenia 2019... hope it doesn't happen with Armenia this year.
David and Anush are delegations form Armenia and they have a lot of ideas 💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡💡
Perfekt analysiert . Das Lied ist sehr unique, trotz dem hat mir sehr gefallen 💯❣
This is unique. great song Armenia
Best🔥🚀❤️🇦🇲
great squatting by the way! 🏋🏻♀️
It's an unusual composition musically, not an ear-worm but should make a dynamic live performance!
Still find it's wild that Rosa Linn ended up with the global hit, post-Eurovision. I wonder how much of that will bring focus back onto Armenia this year.
I actually don’t know if people even associate that song with Eurovision, I wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of people who listen to it don’t even know that is where it came from
@@ESCTom Probably not, I think I remember reading that it was South America that really latched onto it. However, the initial drive came from Europe, of course. It's just been fun watching those crazy Snap stats this past year.
@@AmazingChi it s really a global hit, not only america.
@@AmazingChi i still hear snap everywhere

Being overlooked by many! This is iconic and a modern feel. Now I dont like rap but this really works. She is just terrific....wow my top 5 for sure. love to all xxx
Wow Armenia👌♥
Yeah I’m a big big fan of this. Hope the imagery can be as strong on the stage, there are parts of this song that could be really big moments on the stage.
Armenia 😍😍😍
And we just watched Tom falling in love 😂 but seriously this song is risky but gorgeous. I had to watch the video 3 times to get it. It's on my top 10...
It's hypnotic and the way the song builds it's epic. If the live is good we have a moment and she is the winner.
Absolute artistry.
my winer 😍 ♥️ ❤️
“I really feel like she’s written that herself” 😭😭😭 I had to RUN back to your reaction after seeing Twitter out her as a Tumblr lyric thief 💀 we’ve been conned, Tom!
omg i saw the tumblr thing but i dont totally get it
i have been excited about this song since i saw her announcing on ig she would represent armenia, and I went in expecting it would be a dark and upbeat pop song (like the announcement video), so I was kind of caught aback when it was something quite different. initially I thought it was alright, good but nothing fantastic (I had to mourn the song I didn't get for a sec), but this really does grow on me with each listen. I like how the lyrics remind me of bedroom pop type writing, like you said it does sound like she wrote it herself, and authenticity is something I'm always looking for. My favourite part is the rap/spoken verse, I absolutely love it and she conveys the feeling of the lyrics just perfectly. this might actually break my top 5, if they get the staging right. fingers crossed!!
Yeah in hindsight I was totally expecting a dark pop song too. So kind of cool that it subverted my expectations
Very unique this song🇦🇲🇦🇲
thanks for reaction! 🤍
Thanks for your reaction. She’s amazing.❤️❤️❤️
It’s literally SO GOOD
🔥🔥🔥
This is such a vibe 🔥 I loved it since the first listen and it is my winner...I am sure the performance gonna be 100% great and well staged..🇦🇲😊 thanks Brunette for making us proud..and thank u for this reaction 🫶
Բրյունետ🌸❤️💙🧡
I like the song, lyrics, I like her...this song it better and better with every time you listen. Not sure about rap part. By the way, lyrics are not naive, since I write poetry, I know that nowadays that style is very popular, talking about everyday stuff
I love this entry. 1st time listening I did not like the rapping part...still have to get used to it. But the more I listen it the higher it goes up in my ranking. Very curious how this is live.
Yeah the rapping part is my least favourite as well. But I remember with Stefania last year that I didn't like the rapping in that initially but with time I actually grew to really like it
@@ESCTom good point...but I prefer hers' rapping to that of Stefania, which as a song I also love! Now back to editing those gorgeous magnets! 🥰
Im pregnant now 😂🤣😂
Nice review!
Thank you Tom for your great reaction, Brunette is indeed very original and unique. I wish her the best of luck!!!!
Okay, I loved your reaction to this and I love this song. This is a beautiful work of art, and the only reason this isn't currently top three for me is that we haven't seen it performed yet. I'm hoping this will be a real moment at Eurovision.
Just found your channel recently and i love your in-depth analysis of every song, makes you stand out!
I don't wanna be that person but these lyrics are quite cheap, and my expectations weren't exactly met, it just makes me a little sad because the underlying music is actually rather impressive😅
thanks thlimpq 🥰
yea the lyrics are the weakest part. although honestly i think the lyrics are often the part that matters the least in a ESC song. we had winners for portugal and serbia where nobody could understand the lyrics and they still won. i only noticed the smoothie lyric cos it was my second listen with the subtitles on
@@ESCTom True! I reckon It'll Qualify with a staging package to the standards of what they put out in Junior ESC for sure.
Love from Armen❤😂🥰
thank you for reaction
Thank you from Armenia🇦🇲❤️
Bravoo Armenia❤
incredible🏆🏆💚💚💚& beautiful
❤
Thank you for your honest reaction. The song "Brunette" actually has a very deep meaning. The girl is singing about the love of her dreams. Not everyone gets to have such true love in life.

🥇🇦🇲🕊🕊🙏
💋💋🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲👍👍👍
Armenia❤ super
I think this kind of proves two things, firstly we can be quick to judge how strong a year is based on the selected songs and secondly, internal selections tend to have promising entries compared to national selections (of course there are gems in national finals but judging from people's reactions to selected songs, the favourites in selections dont always win.
Armenia are the second song to change the title after the inital leak, the Netherlands song ,when it was a demo, people found it and it was called chasing highs (the lyric before the song title now).
This song is one i appreciate more with each listen but also strangely enough, with not looking at the music video. Whilst there are cool elements in the video, I think that (maybe this stems from previous expectations) the video is a bit distracting for me and I do prefer to listen to it on its own.
Im quite interested to see how its staged because I think great staging could make this even more of a contender.
yea this year has been a bad one for leaks, i hope its something we see less next year
This song is definitely a grower,I really like it more and more the more I listen to it.I don't mind the lyrics in this case,at least they are somehow meaningful, she wrote everything herself, and it seems authentic and true to her style. The part in Armenian is the most beautiful and the most impressive one, though.Overall I am not disappointed with the Armenian entry this year (as I am slightly disappointed with the Georgian one and it's mainly due to very meaningless, kind of AI-generated lyrics)
super winner🎉🎉
❤ I like your hair like that 🔥😊
haha thanks, this is the Goldilocks period where its neither too long or too short 👧
@@ESCTom haha! You’re welcome!
❤️ from 🇺🇾
I love the composition, the visuals and her voice, she's gorgeous too. I wish I didn't speak English because those lyrics are dire. If it was in Armenian it would probably be at least in my top 10 but in English, nope.. It will qualify from semi 2 I just wish the lyrics were about... Anything really
Drink smoothies at near cafes as a lyric takes me out of the song every time I try to listen to it unfortunately
yea its not a great lyric but she wrote the song herself and it seems cute coming from her. anyway i think most people will miss whats shes saying anyway
ARMENIA is the BEST!
I have a question, is this eurovison scoreboard app new this year? (if not, how long has the app been around)?
I’m not sure how long it’s been around but you can rank as far back as 2005
❤🇦🇲❤
❤❤❤🇦🇲
ARMENIA 🇦🇲👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🏆🏆🔥🔥🔥
🇦🇲🇦🇲❤️❤️👍👍👏👏🔥🔥🏆
"Heru" means in armenian "Far"
I really like 2/3 of this song, the rap part as usual is not my favourite and taking me out of it 😅 and it's in the middle as well so there's no way to avoid it 😂. But that's just personal preference stuff ❤
It's a green color. The green and red are symbolic of Armenian weddings.
I adore this. Has anyone managed to find this on Spotify? It's the only song missing from my playlist 😢
I can’t find it either :( hopefully they’ll upload it on there soon
🇦🇲💋💪👍❤️🇦🇲
Mmmmmmmm!
Just a little too artsy for me Tom
I love the instrumentation and the video is totally lush but i just can't connect with the song
I so often love the entries from Armenia, so i was probably overdue a miss. Unfortunately, that is this year.
I really don't share your assuredness that this is a guaranteed qualifier Tom.
In a semifinal of 100% televote, has this enough immediate appeal to see it through?. I'm not so sure.
The only thing in its favour is that Armenia is in semifinal 2.
I definitely wouldn't want to select the 10 qualifiers from that.......
🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🎉
I get what it's going for. I quite like her voice and her energy but the song is hard to get through
I don’t love this yet. The rap elements pull me out of a beautiful trance, like being woken abruptly from a perfect dream. And that irritates me so much! Replace the harsh rap with more a soaring, vividly orchestrated melody, and this would be in my top 5.
Yeah the rapper is kind of gives is it X factor, but I think it can also have the effect that It had on you. That’s why I mentioned that they need to fill that middle part with something very visually distracting for anyone who doesn’t care for the rap
@@ESCTom That could work! I’ll probably be in the minority with my views anyway, so it won’t be an issue. I’m just disappointed - really wanted something like Qami Qami to feed my Armenian pop bop craving. Georgia though 😍
Funny bc that’s what the song is about if you look at the lyrics and that’s the purpose of the structure
🇦🇲🇦🇲
What does....."wanna know my secret bang." mean!? :-)
its a placeholder so i know when to start the video so they are synced 😊
@@ESCTom Ah ok :-)
Sorry, you're not feeling great. Tom. Hope you're soon over it. Btw, don't worry about the fridge magnets. Some content creators or ESC reactors need lots of gadgets to try to make their videos uintersting. You could sit there in a dark room so we couldn't see you & you'd still be interesting because you love Eurovision, your passion for it oozes out of the screen, & you know what you're talking about & are able to express your opinions in a clear, concise way. We'd still come back to you video, after video, no matter what visuals you used. 🙂
This song is going to have to be a grower for me. It piqued my interest a little, but I still haven't decided whether I like it or not yet. I suspect I'm like most people: a song either hits me straigtht away, with either a positive or negative vicseral reaction, but a tiny minority go into my "I can't decide" pile, needing several listens & time to think about it before I make my mind up. It's certainly interesting & has attracted my attention though.
Awww thank you Angela for the kind words 🥰🥰
Its grand, just a head cold i picked up from my niece. she gets these superbugs from creche
🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲👍👍👍👍👍🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲💪💪👍👍🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲👍👍👍👍👍🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲👍👍👍👍🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲
Armenia 🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲
It's good but not wow I just got weighed down by hype I'm slightly disappointed and it's the same with Georgia
yea you gotta take a hype check before you listen to any song. cos seriously going into anything with hype expectations is never good.
best is just to approach every song like any other, cos thats how the casual viewers will see it when theyre watching
Aram mp3 got 4th place and Iveta Mukuchyan 7th

"drink smoothies in near cafes?" I'm really sorry Tom, but it's just a NO from THAT moment onwards. Talking with people for whom English is a second language - yes, a phrase like that can be absolutely endearing, quite lovable, I agree with you - but in terms of lyrics at an international song contest this makes me take a sharp intake of breath. It's just really clumsy English. One line, one line only, and I'm sorry but the song is completely lost for me from that moment on. Brunette - near, nearby - it's not a big change. You have a lovely song, thank you.
🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲Armenia ❤❤❤❤❤
Probably in the minority but I don't like this at all sadly.
Oh man come on... Song is boring, lyrics are just terrible and you're all about uhh ahh uhhh uhhhh, and she's preety and queen and this and that. Looks like they could send happy B'Day song that you would love it...
you think the song is boring, i dont.
if you have such a negative view of me and my channel, just dont watch it
As an ESC obsessive, Tom wants all the performers to do well. However he can be harsh when need be (He is rightly merciless about reland's song) but generally looks for things to enjoy and get excited for. For the record I really like this song. It is intriguingly structured, the first lyrics are innocent but they angsty in the rap section, which reflect the conflicting emotions when seeking a new commitment. For me it works. If for you it doesn't, that's fine. We can all respect each others tastes, can't we?
I absolutely hated the song. I find it boring and frankly unpleasant to the ear. Nothing about this appeals to me.
She is in my top 5. Very different in a good way ❤
