(SPSS 25) How to Perform Two Way ANOVA model 2

  • In this session, I am going to show the two-way ANOVA when you have two categories (Drug and Membrane(with two or more categories in each) and one dependent variable (permeability). The aim of this study is to find the effect of the two independent variables on the dependent variable.
    It requires the data to be normally distributed but do not worry if your data is not normally distributed at this stage.
    In this data, there are three variables: two categorical variables (Type of Drug and Type of
    Membrane) which are independent of each other and one continuous variable (Permeability).
    Type of Drug has two categories coded as (Ibuprofen=1 and Caffeine=2).
    Type of Membrane has three categories coded as Buccal mucosa=1, Regenerative cellulose=2, and Nylon=3
    Post Hoc Tests’ table is considered only if the p-value for the categorical variable (having three or
    more categories/levels) (Membrane in this case) is significant. Post hoc tests explain which mean(s)
    is/are significantly different from the other(s) as there are three means in the Membrane variable.
    According to the table, there is:
    1. Significant difference in permeability between buccal mucosa and regenerative cellulose
    2. Significant difference in permeability between buccal mucosa and nylon
    3. No significant difference in permeability between regenerative cellulose and nylon
