@@upsidedahead I think it's been designed really well, maximising the hydrolics output with the motor size. Our property is 37 acres but we mow around 3 acres with the Razorback. If you look back at the video you can see the slope of the property which is steep in some place and is predominant on property. I have never had a problem though. The only time the motor is under stress is if you go through very tall grass or large amounts of branches to quickly. However, you can get a Razorback with a larger motor if you need it for commercial work! It's also good to note that you need to be kind to machinery. In other words buy the machine you believe will do the job well so you don't push it past its limits! I made another video in the easement area of our property where we had 1 metre tall African Love Grass. This was too much for the Razor back so I cut it down using my tractor with a 1200mm slasher attachment. The best advice I can give you not knowing your circumstances is to try the machine before you buy it if it's an option. P.S. I will attach the link to the other video using the slasher.
@@quantumhomeimprovements thanks heaps. Our place is steep, but there's not too much thick, heavy work. By the sound of what you're saying, we should be ok. Thanks again
This is a great machine Giuseppe! The video turned out well but you need to see it in person to have a full appreciation for what it can do! It have changed my live!
Thanks Tony, together with the TYM these machines have changed my life, after two spinal operation. However, I copped a lot of flack after releasing the first Razorback video earlier this year because it didn't really show much so I made this video to put it through its paces and it shut the trolls up at this point 😂 P.S. I love the mulcher video you made, What a great implement! I attached a link if anyone is interested. ua-cam.com/video/1uHyLGNFOww/v-deo.html
Good job on the branches. But a flail mower does that too and my Ventrac deck can be lifted like a foot off the ground and take on bigger brush. I do it commercially so I hit too many rocks and as you said that is the Achilles of this type of machine and I had to replace the blade carrier too because the slot where the blades attach was so badly damaged (it was a rental unit) the blades could not swing freely or be reinstalled. I paid $2400 for mine at an auction. I put new blades on it and a new blade carrier. A new headlight and sold it for $9k. I only had a call for it one time. A small yard with a narrow gate. $350 for about 20 minutes of work. They were happy. It did a great job but it’s only 3 feet wide. So very slow compared to my 6 foot flail mower. I did like that you can lower that blade right down to the dirt! I’m thinking of buying the Altoz 766i with the 5-1/2 foot deck and three of those slasher type blades. But again my flail mower just bounces off rocks without any damage most of the time. The Achilles for the flail is wire, hoses, rope , string that gets wrapped around it so quickly I carry wire cutters and bolt cutters. But I love how I mulch up these trimmings piles I usually charge an extra $50-100 to “get rid of them” the customer thinks I hauled it away! If you watch the videos on the Altoz going through tall weeds and brush same thing. Multiple passes are needed to get rid of the winrowing The clumps. I was thinking the Altoz may be faster 11mph but that’s on easy grass. So I’ll probably not. What do you think? $20k for the Altoz
Thanks for the feed back Raul! The Ventrac mower is a great machine, I have seen it displayed in a lot of videos but they are very expensive. However, I only just learnt of the Altoz from you! The Ventrac mower would be really good for my property because of the 30° slopes which are very dangerous for a standard mower. However, the Altoz looks amazing going through the tall grass and with the rear track system but can you use stick drive on a 30° slop? $20 K is a really good price! Is that US dollars?
@@quantumhomeimprovements they say yes. For down hill just let go of the sticks. But definitely 30 degrees or more. They told me the engine manufacturer say no more than 25 or so because of oil pickup but they say they have had them on 40 degrees if you can believe that. Yes US dollars
@@raulhogland7309 So it's fully hydrolic which makes sense. Most stick driven mowers can't go on large slope but the rear track would make all the difference! Very impressive machine. The Razor back would be around 10K US which is around half the price but could I tell you that if I had the money I would definitely think of buying a Ventrac or Altaz! I really appreciate you taking the time to broad my knowledge of machines on the market thanks Raul!
@@quantumhomeimprovements you’re welcome. I had to buy one of each trial and error method very expensive. But thankfully in this market I have had the opportunity to buy low and sell high on my machines. The razorbacks here are $15k usd. The razorback is a great machine and is built like a tractor that’s why I bought it. Just to small for the vast majority of my work. I have a John Deere 1445 II 4x4 with a 5.5’ Peruzzo flail mower deck that is the closest thing to a Ventrac. A Kubota M7060 enclosed cab for bigger parcels. Keeps me cool clean and big free. A Bobcat s750 enclosed cab also with a Blue Diamond 6’ 4 knife slasher. And the Ventrac with the 6’ flail mower. Next week going to pick up the Altoz 😁. I’ll let you know how that goes. I may offer a free cut to a neighbor with hills just to try it out.
Good question Joseph! Our soil quality is generally bad and over the years we have been placing mulched eucalypt trees around the property, which we get from our local arborist 'Dixons'. By the way they are a great company. Now the soil quality has greatly improved. I highly recommend it for areas where grass does not grow. 👍
Cool stuff ! What's the horsepower?
Its a good machine for sure. The 1402 model Razorback has a 12HP Honda GX390 motor.
@@quantumhomeimprovements thank you. I'm looking at one the same. My dad was concerned that it would be underpowered. Do U think this is an issue?

Great footage! Makes it look like you’re cutting through clover.
Thanks Anthony. Yes we have a lot of clover which is slowly improving the soil quality.
@@quantumhomeimprovements I mean the slasher makes the fallen branches look like they’re no harder to cut than clover.
@@AnthonyEnglish You are spot on Anthony! The Razorback does it easily!
Thanks exactly what I wanted to see for my applications. Both. Bet that eucalypt clears the nostrils!
😆 🤣 😂 It does, and the carbon is great for the grass after it breaks down! Cheers
Great job Agapy, it's looking really nice!
It's made easy with right equipment that's for sure! Thanks Agapy
That is just amazing. I agree, it is a brilliant machine!
Short of getting to attached to the machine! It's brilliant, very well made!
