The Spartans of 300 have been trying to get bottomless pits of death back into fashion. It’s a feature I highly recommend if your building ab evil supervillain lair. They make wonderful conversation starters and are very convenient for disposing of failure henchmen

A lava pit is quite silly. But it is sillier to kill life in the name of safety.

Very sadly these wonderful old actors are passing away as are the comedy actors , Dads Army cast , Are You Being Served cast and Carry On cast . We will never see their like again .

This film was made by Hammer who specialized in horror movies (Dracula and Frankenstein) and got X (Equivalent to R) ratings. This got a U (Equivalent to G) rating but that scene was horrifying until I saw a rerun, it was just a red light under a water tank. It starred the Hammer regulars:John Richardson, Peter Cushing and Bernard Cribbins.
The BBC always used to show an adventure film on a Saturday night in the early 70s. Usually harmless stuff. But this really horrified me and my brothers and sister. We were more used to Dr Who. Everyone was talking about it at school the following Monday.

For me it was the eternal life shower scene. Horrible to see a lavish woman turn to dust.
Eternal life has drawbacks: unreal pain, disfigurement the loss of everyone you knew for the last four thousand years.
The price for being an eternal (makes it hard to get attached) but in all these years mankind hasn’t changed much.
Look what you can achieve without being on your phone all the time.

Hammers 'SHE' is a wonderful adventure film, with a superb cast The Great Peter Cushing & Christopher Lee, Bernard Cribbins & the beautiful Ursula Andress John Richardson to name but a few. What a joy this film is It should be put out on Blu-ray or even better 4K it's always on the TV in standard vision. I was 11 when I first went to see this film, on a rainy afternoon, it was like stepping into another magical world. Happy times 😊
When she was about 25 years old Ursula Andress was the perfect woman. Pretty much a goddess. If you fancy Nordic, aryan types she is the top of the line. Wonderful genes.

I can remember watching this film as a kid in thr 70's. This scene scared the pants off me.
Reminds me of a clip of a lady reporter who was allowed to spend time in a lockup. As she was driven away in a Police vehicle, handcuffed, she looked out of the rear window and said earnestly, "Don't do what I did... Don't put rubbish in the recycling bin"!!!

Pretty horrific scene but never heard of this B movie. During the slave trade period sometimes rebellious or sickly contagious slaves were thrown off ships into the ocean usually while still shackled. However horrible movie scenes might be, history & reality are often more horrific.

Me too! It was played on afternoon tv, when I was a kid. Surely the programmer thought it was a harmless adventure movie, which it was mostly. But that scene is not for kids to watch.
Well, she lasted 2000 years, so she may have some experience. And yet her fall was for love (yes, it's all about this movie's fiction, reality would be more Machiavellian, where she would conceal her wrath and cruelty under the guise of piety and pain as to last longer as a ruler).
The first person knows how to not touch the lava, so he jumped back.
This scene is kinda like actual frightening. To say the least. The story is not bad or work at all...gives you a real sense of appreciation for good stories amd storytelling...

I was 12 years old when this film was released. I'd just read the book and loved the film. I'd like to think today's 12 year old boys would love H Rider Haggard's books as much as I did. I still have my books.

Nov. 26, 2018---Thanks for the video clip and now going to have to find it on UA-cam. As to the queen, she reminds me of Danny from Game of Thrones. When it comes to nut cracking time, She, like Danny, don't hesitate in cracking a lot of nuts...or in this case, boiling 'em in lava.
Yes, she was beautiful. She had a great figure. And her beauty was all real. No plastic surgery. But in her time, women were mainly cast as eye candy and not for their acting talents. There were exceptions, but do u think Madame Bette Davis, and Barbara Stanwyk, and Katherine Hepburn and their ilk would have become so famous if they weren't pretty?
They made an entire movie about Rumpole of The Old Bailey's wife. Ursula Andress played Rumpole's wife.

This is due to a crafty, but horrific bait and switch. The unfortunate men were misled by being told that the queen was having a "pit-style" barbecue in their honor. After they took the bait and were captured they were then told that they are the barbecue (to be tossed in a lava pit) of an active volcano as punishment for disobedience.
