Its also strange that smg3 and smg4 both share the same avatar in Mario, unless smg3 lacks his own avatar (its also odd how there are 3 guardian pods launched, with smg1 and 2 sharing a pod while smg3 and 4 are in separate pods

My theory and personal head cannon is that for the universe to go down with the avatar is that the avatar must be 'destoryed' by something that holds the godboxs unfathomable power. Think about it; the godbox instructed Niles to destory his own universe and kill off Fred and succeeded in doing so after the godbox granted him the means to do so. Then fast forward to 1 and 2, Spudnik died because of Eldritch 0; who STILL has powers from the godbox. Finally in the 10th anniversary video, Mario was being killed by Eldritch 0(still has godbox powers) and its only then 3 and 4 are being brutally affected by it. So it stands to reason that Mario could die all of those times before the Genesis Arc BECAUSE the means/reasons he died was not because of the GodBoxs intervention into this universe.
This guy totally deserves more than just (at the time of typing this comment) around 2.4 thousand subscribers. He puts so much effort into his SMG4 theories that, to me at least, his work is more than just a couple hundred to a couple thousand subscriber quality.

My theory about the avatars are that they are literally the only thing that keeps everyone and everything in their universe alive. If they’re dead,then yes,the universe will be dead as long with them,But my theory is that basically the avatars are basically the protagonists,or the power source of the video game,and if the avatar dies,basically the character you play deleted.So basically,if the avatar dies,the game basically won’t function like it did anymore since you can’t play it anymore without a character.
