I have a gift for you! 😊It's a free Affinity Photo course that will teach you 10 simple steps to make any photo amazing. I hope you love it! affinity.sale/10-steps
It is alwavs interesting to see how other people do things. In the case of watching Ally at work you always learn something - either stuff you have long forgotten or stuff you never knew in the first place. Congrats!
I tried a few other "neon glow" effects from other UA-cam videos to see which one yielded the best results. The process described in this video provided the best end result. Thank you for the clear, easy to follow instructions!
I just love this tutorial, you take your time to explain and add your own magic to the explanation. I have found this experience to be better than some other tutors. Thanks guys! ❤️
Great Tutorial. I signed up for the free Affinity Photo course for the 10 simple steps to make any photo amazing and it was, by FAR, the most useful tutorial on Affinity Photo that I have taken and I have taken a lot of different courses.
@@RodrigoBessa I recently released my Affinity Photo Version 2 course and my Designer Version 2 course. My Publisher Version 2 course should be done next week! :)
Back in the day I bought a book called Real World Photoshop 3 that talked about preparing a scanned photo for print. It taught the basic principles and showed it really only requires a few basic steps to produce outstanding output. Your course seems to do very much the same thing, updated for a modern workflow and using Affinity Photo.
Absolutely excellent tutorial!!! Do u think Affinity Photo will ever be as big as Photoshop? I started using Photoshop and God I miss Affinity Photo. PS has more extra tools, but the useability of AF is much better. Keep up the great work. You are appreciated!!!
My guess is that Affinity Photo will get better and better in the upcoming years, while Adobe will steadily charge more and more for their subscription service. If that continues, it's only a matter of time before more people join the Affinity side! 😄
These tutorials keep blowing my mind and make me realise I know diddley-bupkiss about this program yet... I was happy with my advancement when I made a floating Ezra using the inpainting tool. Teach me more!
Hi Ally. After the refine, 1min 45 sec approx, and before clicking "apply" you will get a better result if you change the output from "Selection" to "new layer with mask".
Thanks ... I learn something every time. What I REALLY want to know is who are the 4, 5, 6 people who mark DISLIKE? I never use dislike unless it is objectionable, misleading or really poor. Your presentations are of great quality NM the question was rhetorical
I wonder the same thing! If they would leave some constructive feedback in the comments, I'd love to know how they want me to improve. But a dislike doesn't tell me much. Oh well. 🤷♀️
@@AffinityRevolution I know who they are... they're people that just aren't happy unless they can share there negativity and misery. They're just sad, unhappy individuals... Ally, I wouldn't waste 1 second of thought wondering who or why... just do what you do and you're golden. And you ARE golden... ! Thanks for the great great help and service you provide.
That was good. I have an old color photo that is mainly shades of yellow and black. I really want to preserve and improve the photo, do you think Infinity Photo can do that. I know it is a tough question. Spencer
Hmm.. it's hard to know without being able to see the photo. In a week or two, I'm going to be releasing some photo restoration tutorials. Perhaps those will be able to help you. 😊
Ally I am trying to copy you using my own photo which has many different colours but i cant get the selection tool to paint across it goes all over the place, I have tried different sizes but still no good any Ideas , Many thanks
Great video! I love your commitment to equilateral triangles :D Does Affinity ever give you promo codes for new users? I'm thinking of making the leap from AI. Thanks!
Haha hooray for equilateral triangles! 😁 They do run sales from time to time. You can sign up here to be notified when the are running a promotion: affinity.serif.com/en-us/newsletter/
Please, please do glowing mushroom tutorial. ive been searching glowing mushroom lamp with affinity photo…but there is none. Not the whole freakin mushroom glow not like radioactive mushroom…no no no. :D like mushroom lamp. These tutorials are great!!!
Removing that light border is called "defringing". The easiest way is to carefully paint black on your mask, to remove those parts of his hair. There are other techniques you can use (which I show in my selection course), but painting black on the mask would be the simplest way to do it. courses.affinityrevolution.com/p/pixel-perfect-selections

I would also personally use blend if on the model to add realism but thats just me.
