I can't express how much I love seeing you guys with your niece. As ridiculously sounding it is, I can actually feel my heart swell and can't stop smiling. sigh...its so so beautiful. And you have a great laugh. Also, back to video topic, great video and fun to see your projects. Thank you for sharing. Thank you for also sharing the personal familial moments also.

Emily . The only way to learn is by making mistakes and practice . I did my apprenticeship 40yrs ago and still everyday i am learning new stuff . Its a pleasure watching such a lovely couple.and Lyla? Is a hoot looking over her glasses at emily and giving the stare . Classic

That dude (Aaron) is my hero. He somehow got his wife to do most of the work and heavy lifting while he goes to the "parts store" or just puts bolts on. He is the brains while she is muscle. Awesome!

hey Emily, I've had one of those bearing packers for years. easy way to do it is after you've put the bearing in and put the tapered top on, put it on the floor and press down with your foot until grease comes out between the rollers. I've done it that way for years, makes packing bearings quick and easy. take care. you do better than most professional techs I've worked with over the years. 30 year ASE master auto tech here.

Hi from Uncle Nick: Please be advised Blaster spray with nozzle is very good/helpful for rusted or stuck bolts, next is heat em up with a torch,. its strange can with a yellow cap! I worked on 240Zs and very hot Datsun 510s in the 70s. early ones had a match of pistons & con. rods, 4 or 6 cylinder. I enjoy the movies, Nick

Just FYI, the direction of any rotor, regardless of whether it's slotted/drilled is determined by the internal cooling vanes between the faces. If they're radial/straight then it doesn't matter which side they're installed. If they're angled then they're always supposed to lean towards the rear of the car.
Good luck with your future builds!

Direction of the slots on the brakes doesn't matter, the internal vane direction determines which side the brakes go on.

Just an FYI spend the bucks for factory u-joints on the Rr half-shafts as they have more needle br. We tried several different brands of after-market/part store ones, they fit. But only last about a month of regular street dr. & 1 Auto-X, after the 5th month finally in desperation went down to nissan dealer and those were in the car 25k later & 36 Auto-xs.

For stuck bolts, use a propane torch (aka hot wrench) to heat up the bolt. An oxy acetylene torch works, just don't heat it too hot and melt it. PB blaster is a good way to start, but sometimes it's not enough.

In my experience the direction of the slots and dimples/drilled holes don't matter. In directional rotors the veins (a.k.a. fins) between the rotor friction surfaces are curved, or are segmented curves which improve cooling, but are more expensive to produce, over your standard straight veined rotors.with those you need to have the curves in the direction to throw the air (and heat) outwards from the hub, which acts as an impeller, forcing more air through. In straight veins, they act in a similar way, but only act as fins in a radiator, in addition to supporting the "floating" friction surface, there's no additional airflow benefit effect to them due to a basic design.
