I don't miss music, I find it distracting. GREAT video, thanks.
Ordered. Thanks again for taking the "does it really work" guesswork out of my purchase equations! You rule!
You’re welcome 😉
Amazing what current ham gear can do these days.
Sure is!
Thanks for this Mat, I had not come across the M5Stack before, so particularly interesting.
Hi, Nice demo.
The device will be usefull if it display info that are not already display on the iC-705.
Yo me, wilth a bigger display, as multimodes decoder (CW, SSTC, FAX, Navetex, RTTY, digital modes...), it will show it's best usage.
I wonder if someone will write an interface to Pi-Star so you can quickly see callsigns and choose rooms from the M5Stack.
That would be a good idea!
Message Armel on Twitter, I commented how someone would love a 7300 version, he said hard to do but had it working within days. He is the true spirit of Amateur Radio, shame some are selling his work without any acknowledgement.
@@CampervanCookout He said "no" he doesn't use digital modes. But he thinks it would be easy to do. Thanks for the suggestion anyway!
I have mine running 3 of Armel's apps, both of his meters (the needle one is very nice too) and the DX Tracker. Upon boot you press the middle button and can choose between apps. :) Well worth doing. With added battery for the m5stack its actually a decent battery life. With stock model it wont last long without power.
Great video, managed to get the project loaded, trying to get the proxy to work with 7300, would be great to have a video covering that subject..
Unfortunately I do not own a 7300 any longer. If you have an issue try contacting the developer via Twitter. :-) Or check the Github issue section. Thanks for watching.
@@TechMindsOfficial thank you, all sorted now
Sold! I have all three rigs…
@Tech Minds
Excellent find..
This is a simpler setup than my current.
I use Win4icom with Icom 7300 PTRX
My psu is connected to a WiFi switch and the psu is always switched on. This gives power to the rig whenever I turn the WiFi plug on.
Anydesk is then used to control the pc side of things from another room or even at another QTH.
It is a bit of a muddle but it works for data etc. I'm working on VoiP to complete the setup.
Thanks for sharing

Thanks for another awesome video, are you planning on showing a update using the new git hub repository for this with the the new projects (ICkeyer & DX spot) and how we can switch between them. I’m waiting for the device to arrive.
Nice one Matt :)
Cheers Dave!
Hi Mat,
A version for other slightly older rigs would be useful as well. My smaller rigs are an IC7000, & an IC 7100. I also have an IC756 Pro 3, & an IC 746, so it would be nice to know other info at the same time, just like You have with the IC705.
Many Thanks,
Kind Regards,~
Ray, M0RAY.
I love it and the idea love to get one💯👍
What Tick ? (At bottom of screen) Need to explain this in simple form - for those who know nothing about visual studio code. What version are you running (Visual Studio Code) ? Because I am getting a error when I do this.... Very frustrating. Looking at the garbage can at this point.
Can you provide instructions for the IC-9700?
hi, is there a way to make the display a bit bigger than your own transciver display with a touchscreen? so that reading and operation can be simplified, also for example with programmable gases for direct calls, and a contest recorder with recording function for the CQ call. a connection to the log programs would also be cool. I have a Kenwood TS-480 and could use a bigger monitor ;-) 73
unable to flash it on the devise and getting error " A fatal error occurred: Failed to write to target RAM (result was 01070000)" using a 2017imac
Is there any chance you'll use dark mode on your videos?
I wish it can do other radios to.
Does this program only work on stack core 2? Tia
Nice idea, but it doesn’t work on my M5 Basic. It needs 131% of Flash memory. So I have reduced the code. I removed all the WiFi code and now it fits in a M5 Basic with 8MB Flash. 👍 And more: I have ported the Project to a ESP32 Dev Board with 4” WaveShare Display for better readability. It works fine. But only with my IC705.
Hi. Can you send a code for me, please ?
Thanks for the video, looks nice.
I was on my way to install IC705 Meter on my M5 Stack Core 2 but after installing Visual studio code plus platformio, the github cloning option appears and then disappears as shown on the video. Any suggestions what I'm doing wrong ?
Hey Bruno, I’ve not seen that issue before, however, to make things quick, download the entire source code from GitHub as a zip file, then, uncompress the zip file, and then in visual studio goto file and open folder, then select that uncompressed folder, you should then have the project loaded.
@@TechMindsOfficial Many thanks, will try it ;)
@@TechMindsOfficial All good with this method, thanks 🙏
I had same problem today. The fix below worked. Thanks
Me 2...bring back the original music!
Nice little pixel pony.
did you say whiskey 🙂
Yep! Jack Daniels all day long..! :-)
Nice toy. I see no value of using this. Did I miss something?
