Marriott also has a fifth night free on award stays. It really wasn't clear what basis she used to say that Hilton is more family friendly. Objectively, Marriott points are worth more per point and have more valuable transfer options to airlines than any other Hotel group.

Tbh, I know people like to say they got Bonvoyed by Marriott, but I've had mostly positive experiences in the years I've been with the program. By no means perfect, but I've been offered upgrades fairly often, sometimes I've had to ask. The points are great for aspirational trips. M Club and executive lounges can be hit or miss for sure, but it's def more than a bottle of water. I think Hilton does take the crown for consistency when it comes to elite benefits though.

Marriott is clearly better imo. I'll take Marriott Platinum (middle status) over Hilton Diamond any day. Admittedly Hilton Gold is better than Marriott Gold simply because of free breakfast. The global footprint is so much better with Marriott, and the properties are generally better kept. The service and value for loyalty is on a different level with Marriott than with Hilton.
