Le Guin was the best. The depth and variety of her imagined worlds and characters and of her writing styles and narrative perspectives blows me away. Her ideas are so radical not just because of themselves but because I think a lot of us had this wild creativity as children and lost it along the way. She kept hers pristine and I'm so glad she did.
Even though I adore the Harry Potter books I'd honestly consider Le Guin's writing prowess and importance as more akin to Steinbeck or Joyce than J K Rowling.
