I can't believe it. You did it. Thank you so much for presenting this setup!
@@Baldcafe Yes, indeed. I was so super curious about this clipper. In my opinion, the Oster 97 machine is the diva among the many different hair clippers.
Thank you so much for testing it; very informative and entertaining as always. Cheers!
Nothing more refreshing than a wet razor shave. Well kept and fresh. Much better look. I use the Harry’s razor every morning in the shower.
It's a great feeling. My one complaint is that after a wet shave, if you still have hair growth, your scalp will immediately start catching onto clothing when putting something like a shirt or taking it off. It's the one drawback keeping me from wet shaving every week. Do it maybe once a month now as I prefer a finer feel on my scalp with a little hair left over.
I wish I could shave every day I gotta wait 4/5 for the red bumps to go away but I never used coconut oil like he does and I think I’m gonna start using a safety razor and conditioner
@@sean7379 I have the same issue but I now use Nivea post shave balm which reduces my irritation a lot and now I can shave every 2 days
That’s great! I’m sure your book will help a lot of guys. Keep us updated! All the best 👍🏼
I just ordered wahl baldfaders, but seriously my life changed when I started wearing hats baseball caps flat caps beanies the choice is huge and it frame's your face nicely 🤠
Great news with the book - good luck with it. Love the comment about 'splitting hairs', haha. Totally agree - half a day later you can't tell the difference.
That's the first I've seen the Oster 97. I have the Oster 76 which looks very similar. They're awesome.
Oster 97 is the EU version. It's like the classic 76 but adjusted for the EU market and voltages of 230.
I own them myself
You should review Remington mb7050 T-series kit.
Amazing machine for budget money.
it's skin close and work on plug or wireless.
It's only clipper that i buy after remington f9.still have f9 and love it.
F9 IMO cutts to 0,2mm and 7050 if you put pressure when cutting like also on f9 it goes to 0,3mm which is satisfing.
Remington fan but xr1500 machine brake after one year, replaced and also the same case.
but f9 and mb7050 ROCKS!
He looks so incredible!
I Love the old school Design. I have the 97 clipper and 3 old Osterizer Blender
I’m getting the chills because I have been using this exact setup (oster + that guard) for my weekly buzz cut for the past 5-7 years and I just bought the leaf razor with your YT discount code late last night before you posted this video 😆
I love the feeling of the buzzcut but like to occasionally mix in the look of a clean shave
You now have an incredibly professional set up complete! Thanks for also using that code. Really appreciated
@@Baldcafe Absolutely and thank you for all the content that you do :) . I’m excited to level up the “wet shave” experience. I think the oster also awesome for beard trimming if you get the extended plastic #0/#1/#2 clippers
Really cool looking piece of kit but I shaved mine the other week for the first time with the Remington Quick Cut and the end product is very similar. These definitely have the cool factor though, but much like headphones, I don't think I could go back to a cord.
@@Baldcafe Quick Cut is exactly what it says on the tin and suits me fine, the Oster 97 is borderline a work of art!
Really like your reviews and that you showcasing professional gear. Would be amazing if you could review the andis profoil. Its supposed to be amazing after a head trim
Another great, informational video
WAZZUP, Harry (that was my Dad's name... cool)... My Oster PowerLine Heavy Duty Professional Hair Clippers are a few years old; I use a 00000 blade attachment. After that, I shave it down with a Gillette Fusion 5-blade. Love your videos, Brother... every single inspirational one of them... PEACE
I hope you still have that Golf man!! It is beautiful.
I have that blade, just wanted you to know that andis blades fit on oster and they make a blade called the outliner that is actually a little closer so like 6 ought instead of 5 ought iirc. Actually I just took them out to look and the label is worn so I can't tell what it says but the outliners are significantly finer so they may be closer than 6 ouhgt. You should definitely check them out. It feels like if you shaved in the morning with a straight razor and how long it gets ny tge evening.
I have the Oster 76. I zero gaped the 0.5 blade an got a little unnecessary vibration. The zero gaped 0.5 blade worked very well but my concern was that it will wear out the clippers sooner due to the unnecessary vibration. So, I just will buy the O.2 blade.
You can get the Andis outliner bg blade and it cuts .1 instead of .2 if you're looking for maximum closeness.
I was looking for this review, awesome 👍
I think I stick with my 0-gaped, Moser 1400. For a while...
I do own the Oster 97 but was thinking about buying Moser 1400 just for fun since it's 25€ only
My balding clippers I got off amazon for £20 have lasted for 7 years. And they cut very close.
Plus theyre quiet, I'm concious off loud noises around my ears as Ive tinnitus. Was well chuffed with them.
@@Baldcafe This is them my friend.
ua-cam.com/video/d_yYvswH7I0/v-deo.html
they are called maybuy mb3500 zero gap balding clippers.
Although after looking their it seems like they are off amazon.
Anything with a t-blade I find gives a good close cut though. Albeit not as close as a razor shave.
My issue with using a machine is because it's scrapping against the skin, it causes dry skin and a lot of dandruff, hence why I wet shave the dome.
Yeah, I can’t remember if I included shots of the clippers afterwards but it needed a good brush out 👍 was always like this when I was buzzing
Absolutely this. You won't have that problem with the Pitbull skull shaver though.
beard looks great!
I wonder if this cuts shorter compared to a wahl balding clippers(with zero gap)
Well, you can always use them on thr beard. That's what I use my old hair clippers for.
These clippers look great & they definitely sound like they do the business! 😂
Oh what a shame that you didn't know what you were doing when you took that blade apart. I'm a professional hairdresser and I've used these clippers for probably 10 years, the exact model you have there the 97. You would have gotten much closer and had more confidence in it had you not taken that blade apart because you didn't need to You actually can push back the blade away from the body of the device and then just lift off the attachment in its entirety, then replace it with the blade size that you want for instance in your case it would be the 00000, then you just snap it back into the body but make sure you're doing it while the motor is running so that you don't wear the knob down in one spot all the time. Believe me you will get much closer cleaner than what you've shown here. Make sure that you keep them oiled and don't forget the little nipple to put oil in there every so often and to have them greased on the inside Do a few tutorials before you attempt that process It's quite messy fiddly and you want to get it right.
If you zero gap a set of Kemeis you can get similar for really cheap!
You should do a follow up interview with Adrain it would be interesting to see someone who shaved but then ended up going the hair transplant route his thread was very informative and interesting as to what’s he’s been through with the plug grafts to now having a hair transplant
Plug grafts are just what transplants were called back then I’m pretty sure. Last we spoke he had done SMP. I’ll see if I can reach out on insta 👍
Once gone to wet shave, i simply cant go back and i dont know anyone who went back to clippers after using a wet shaver only once.
Nice review, you should review the Babyliss Pro Cordless Super Motor Skeleton Trimmer, it has a big T blade and out the box it cuts extremely short. I haven't tried 0 gapping them yet but they cut a lot shorter than my old Remington quick cut.
@@Baldcafe it's £107 on Amazon but it's brilliant, would love to see your thoughts. 👌🏻
Thing is, trimmers aren’t designed for head shaving. They’re fantastic at getting the hair down close, but the blades with go quicker, as they’re designed for beard hair.
I agree, I have the Babyliss Pro Cordless Super Motor Skeleton and it made me give up my trusty wahl Balding clippers I had for 7 years. I also got the Babyliss Pro foils shaver for the perfect finish... Smooth as F**k ;)
Thats such a spooky coincidence !!!! I spend a day online trying to find a pair of clippers with a 0.2mm cut which is tricky. I really like the one day stubble on my head rather than the razor smooth cut. Anyhow I bought the Wahl Aqua Blade a few days ago from argos for 60 quid which cuts at 0.2mm and that works great and last night i ordered off amazon a Remington PG6130 and a Remington PG3000 which are both just beard trimmers but i've used those types of trimmers loads of times for my head. Anyhow, they both say the cut as low as 0.2mm on the description and for 35 quid for both items i'll take a chance
When I trim with my 20 euro trimmer people ask me if I used a razor
Bizarrely enough, the video, AS WELL AS every comment claiming there's an even closer blade, is wrong. Moser (owned by Wahl) does the "50F" blade, which is 1/20 of a milimeter, or 0.05mm.
I'd be interested in a review from you for the new updated braun series 7 for a head shave.
Fantastic review. I'd consider these since I prefer a 0 buzz over wet shave but that price is steep. I'll stick with my trusty wahl clippers for now haha. Looking forward to your book by the way!
Hi, do you know you don`t have to dissemble the blade in order to get it replaced? You just need to flip it over and take out. Without messing up with the screws.
I'm 19 years old and I shave my head and I don't see any problem and I'm not bald 👨🏼🦲🤷🏼♂️👩🦯
I used to own a set of these. They pack a serious punch. You could definitely sheer a sheep with them 🤣
Yeah that isn't how you change those blades at all, actually. Just pop it back, lift it off, replace. takes like 2 seconds.
Oster is the real deal, expensive but a good investment if you cut your own hair.
A little off topic but what skull shaver would you recommend that they’re still making replacements blades for? Got the Remington rx5 but not sure they do replacement blades for them now…
How do they compare to the Whal Balding clippers?
What is the best cordless option?
🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂unscrewing the blade on a detachable blade clipper wtf could of pulled it off and swapped it like the main feature of these omg 🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂🤦♂
@@Baldcafe could have done like 20 seconds research before blowing £240 on one of the most iconic clippers ever made 🙄
Clickbait title. The closest clippers blade is the Ultra Edge SS .1mm
I use it on my Andis Animal Clippers, don't waste money on clippers made for humans get clippers made for animals such as horses and dogs with thick dense matted fur, they're built better, last longer and are way more powerful.
@@starwarsfanman I use the Andis ProClip Excel 5+ Speed Professional Grade Clippers, it's made for people that groom horses and dogs. Very powerful, expensive tho, I paid $269 for it.
Nice recommendation, but we are men that shave our head hair, not beasts with coats fur. I'll keep it mind next time I want to shave a horses arse though.
I am currently using the Wahl 9962-717 Travel Cordless trimmer. Everywhere I look they are no longer available. Can you tell me the MM or length that these cut without a guard? It cuts very short, which I like, and I've yet to find anything that cuts this short. Can you recommend anything for home use?
Andis T outliner gets really close at 1/3 the price
I find the shape of these shavers very awkward for me. Nothing beats the Pitbull skull shaver for me. It's the most convenient for my head shape and the most accessible to use. Still, nice review as ever and it's great to see you're on 150k subs now! Very impressive
Amazing video! And. Can u give me a haircut sum time with your new hair clippers pal
can you use the 00000 on your neck or will it cut it?
There is no better shaver than Moser ( original ones) no matter how many brands comes up. Moser still stands number one with a high gap with others.
My Remington beard trimmer shaves closer than my Whal trimmers.
This looks better, but also too heavy duty.
Why did you switch the blades? 🤣🤣 They detach bro
Andis Fade Blade is also 00000
I want to buy a knife from this company, but I can't find the company, can you help me?
For people that make a living cutting hair, for everyone else.....there are $20 trimmers that do the same.
Nothing shaves closer than a machete
Who " zero gaps" a 00000? 🤣
Never had the balls to use machine on my bald head. 5 blade razor for me...
Honestly....the results were pretty shit....the RX5 walks all over these
Does it come with attachment combs?
You can get an Oster 76 with a 1, 000, and 00000 blade along with a set of 10 combs for about $200.
Most durable corded shaver you can get and well worth the investment.
Thanks for the great video! You didn’t need to unscrew your blade to install, it just flips down and detaches like other Oster & Andis detachable clippers, so you can quickly switch sizes. I believe they go from 00000 to 3-3/4. I find it difficult to to hold this type clipper to do the back yourself. The Andis Fade Master can cut to 00000, and it’s easier to hold.
