Ive got a home built 21700 4S battery pack...I use it to power my Walksnail Goggles, it lasts forever. Amazed this plane can fly for 75mins on it.... You're right though, it is a slow Cruiser....🤔😏😀🇬🇧

They should have named it the Pregnant Guppy...

Good.I'm should do the same mission on my platform, do you think that Arduplane is more reliable of INAV?

Thanks so much, amazing efficiency. Can't wait for the vtol! Makes sense for the sensor being exposed in stol.

Thank you for the very informative update. Excellent data on efficiency. When loading it up with battery, the speed at which best efficiency (mAh / ground distance) will be at a higher air speed and should remain about the same. I suspect you've already provided Haohan with feedback on the ESC insulation. Concern I would have is 2 phases of motor ESC could short out causing a reduction in power, or blow a MOSFET.
Enabling the ESC brake should improve the power-off glide. Given the excellent low speed performance, you might be able to soar the Firefly in thermals with the birds. That might result is some amazing photo opportunities should you have the gimbal installed. BTW: if the content is good, length does not matter.

Hi great information on the FireFly, I maiden my FireFly with 4s 2p Sony vtc6 and take off and landing no problems. Next flight is with the 4s 2p 21700 batteries for a range test.

Great update Keith looking forward to more on this one . I just seen it on BG page little on the pricey side for this configuration
    Take Care

Hello, thank you for your attention! The price on Banggood is not the official retail price; it includes the cost of shipping from China and even their markup. The official retail price will be launched soon and will definitely be more cost-effective. Please stay tuned!😁

Im not sure if dshot is even usable for airplane at this point unless you set up the PWM output group to be dshot through the param list or tree beforehand

It's supposed to work... lol I use dshot on some of my other planes with no issue, but with older versions of Ardupilot. Apparently there is a bug in the current stable release though, p.i.engineer sent me a link to some discussion about it here: discuss.ardupilot.org/t/dshot-not-working-in-arduplane-4-5-1-non-vtol/116726/10 I think it's at least related to a bug I pointed out here back when 4.5.0 was still a dev build: github.com/ArduPilot/ardupilot/issues/25265 Andy, the dev that's working on the dshot stuff, says there's a fix that should be in 4.5.4, I'd be willing to bet it's in a nightly build now, if not beta... lol I'll check it out later and see.

@@bonafidepirate Fantastic info man! Dshot worked for me after enabling Dshot through the param list and refreshing, however this was on a pixhawk 4 mini so take it with a grain of salt. I mainly run the speedybee FC's now just because they're cheap and reliable but I haven't checked on those as I haven't wanted Dshot on any of those aircraft

@@jeffpv7468 True, the only reason I even bother to us dshot on planes when I do, is the lack of needing to calibrate the throttle range (especially on twins) and being able to configure ESC settings with passthrough is nice.

@@bonafidepirate I like the RPM readout and being able to have a customizable beeper for when it's lost. You do get a marginal boost in efficiency but it's less than what a quad would get
