    Thank you for sharing Mike! Just goes to show that it really pays off listening to the pros. Also seems that Toni Elias is an above average capacity in actually being able to pass on his knowledge. Many riders just instinctively knows what they are doing. Not many of them are able to actually pass that knowledge on to other riders. So also a huge shout out to Toni Elias!

    That last sentence of the video is so on point. People like to talk shit about the back markers in MotoGP (people like Tito Rabat) but forget that those people are still at a level of skill that's leaps and bounds beyond what most people can do.

    Great video Mike. I raced AMA motocross 40 years ago and haven't thought of riding competitively since. I have watched just about all of your videos and am really liking this type of racing but never thought about it until now. Unfortunately there aren't tracks anywhere close to home (one motocross track) or I'd get my old ass back in the saddle. Everyone needs someone to lap, it makes them feel good. I could be that guy! Toni stated in Spanish media : in many circuits in USA you struggle for Grip , so this makes an even battlefield for everyone.
    Unlike most people think , small/light weight riders are at disadvantage in MotoGP.
    Why? , Your single rubber provider will offer All the grid a limited number of Compounds , rather at the hard side , therefore slim riders like Toni , Pedrosa , McCoy ... Will struggle to warm up enough to Optimal working temperature. threshold .
    However they share a outstanding talent at setting suspensions , geometry etc.
    To compensate for this handicap condition.

    What do you think about moving the rear brake control from the foot pedal to the handlebars. I have a friend who uses a recluse clutch and then puts his rear brake lever where his clutch used to be and then puts an extra short lever on the same side for the clutch that he rarely uses. He rides desert. Any thoughts for this on supermoto?

    Great vídeo! I would like to ask, why in motorbikes the suspension have so much travel compared to cars. In cars the less travel, the less change in geometries, the more grip you have. I'm just getting into bikes and I see a lot of travel in all kind of bikes. Isn't that worse than having shorter suspension travels?
    Great content as always.

    • @nolfavrell4244
      @nolfavrell4244 3 роки тому +1

      if the bike is too low, the footpegs or other parts of the bike start to scrape before you can achieve the full lean angle that the tires offer
      edit: also camber doesnt change during compression so having longer suspension travel isnt that bad

    • @sergiosc92
      @sergiosc92 3 роки тому +1

      @@nolfavrell4244 Thanks for reply.
      I don't mean that bikes should go low as a F1, but they might have less suspension travel. This would give less mass transfer under braking and accelerating. Other advantage would be to have less caster angle variation.

    • @nolfavrell4244
      @nolfavrell4244 3 роки тому

      @@sergiosc92 the supermoto bikes in this video have a lot of suspension travel, because they race on tracks which have dirt sections with jumps. supersport bikes are much lower
      also some adv bikes look like street bikes, eventhough they are partially tuned for offroad, therefore taller suspension
