What do you think of the new layout?
Interesting, feels more emmersive, and allows you to rotate related images \ mech art instead of having to spread smaller ones all over the right hand side.
Loving the new layout and can’t wait to see what kind of crazy MF configs you come up with. My personal variant of the Gauntlet that i have used is a MRM 30 in the torso , a pair of clan Med Pulse lasers in the arms and a micro pulse laser array in the torso for those pesky lights and battle armor. Nothing says go away like a wave of advanced missiles flying at your face
I like the new layout; it feels like you've moved into new digs in the Battletech universe. I also like how the little froggy in the battle armor is actually talking! Very adorable.
I like the light gauss rifle as a long range option but why not use 2 er mediums
Instead of large sorry about that
Oh golly, that looks an awful lot like a bushwaker I reckon!
I knew it!
What a gross mech. I don't like the Bushwacker anyways, but then you make it an omnimech. Just gross. It doesn't even have good weapons. It's speed is good however.
Well, I'll be a foxhound in a henhouse, I reckon that mech looks like a Bushwhacker!
I'm a fan of the bushwhacker... Would love to see a video on that one😅
...yeah, it sure does have that look...
I have played this game for 3 years. Have hundreds of games under my belt, have hundreds of battlemech models, and I have never heard of this thing and I instantly love it!
Well I'm glad I could introduce it then!
New mech for the bushie brigade
If MWO taught me anything it's that putting all your firepower in the arms is a good way to end up as a spectator after the first 5 minutes.
Good thing MWO is a very very different world.
@@MechanicalFrog Yeah, but even with the HBS, if you're all in on arm mounts, you can be reduced to kicking real fast. And the general principle of taking out the more exposed and heavy weapons is a pretty broadly applicable tactic.
Agreed. In HBS Battletech I pit the main weapons on my Warhammer in the torsos instead of arms for this reason. Arms are pretty vulnerable
As a commonwealth player it's always nice to see a pretty solid win for us in mech design
From time to time, it's nice.
The Lyrans know how to make mechs. The Banshee rework, the wolfhound, the bushwhacker, the hollander, the fafnir to name a few.
The hauptman to.@@paladinslash4721
Don't forget the Barghest. Arguably the best quad period and one of the best mechs ever.
@@melvinlemay7366 You mean the only good thing to come from Katherine Steiner.
Great video!! As a grognard, not aware of a lot of the "newer" mechs, so reqlly enjoyed this! My version would be a brawler with HPPC, 2x SRM6 with 2 ammo, and 4 MLs. Either go with the whole puncher or crit seek like crazy.
Nice. Solid build.
Remember kids, kicking does not have a minimum range.
Alt Con B reminds me so much of the Blackhawk/Nova.
Hah. Yes that's good to remember.
@@MechanicalFrogIt surprises me how often folks seem to forget physical attacks. Yes, DFA's are risky and kicks can be a gamble if missed, but there's zero risk to punches - no rolls if you miss, no heat, no minimum range, no downside. If you're able to position them, kicks against the punch location table can be devastating.
@@Brigand231 Well you can damage the weapons if you don't have an appropriate quirk, especially if you lack hand actuators, but overall, it is important to remember that mech fu is an option, especially for Spheroid pilots.
I decided to throw together a mid range brawler variant for the funnies. Snub PPC in the tight arm, pair of ER mediums in the left, and an MRM20 with Apollo FCS in the left torso. Two tons of Case II protected ammo in the right. Do like the MF variant through, that lack of a long ranged variant was definitely a problem. Would have considered upping the large laser to an ER variant myself since you'd have the heat capacity for it, and allows it to do more Long range work, but overall, nice design!
Solid plan. the SnubPPC is fun.
Golly, that looks a lot like a surat to whack in the bush. -Clan Coyote Freebirth, circa 3130, probably.
Indeed little Coyote... Indeed...
Was not aware of this mech. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Also love the art! Keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Late to the party, but admittedly, when I saw the thumbnail for this video, I did think "That's an odd looking Bushwacker. Huh? Gauntlet? Oh, Bushie-omni, got it."
Good times had by all.
The gauntlete seems like a decent mech, and we need more inner sohere omnimechs... would be a perfect mech for the Federated Commonwealth... stupid Kathreine...
We've all got problems. The Lyrans' problems just tend to all be named Steiner.
Ah, the Omniwaker, very nice.
The TSEMP is a pretty niche weapon and I would think it would be best in bounty hunting or 'target acquisition' missions, but not far outside that.
And your variant, with the 20 cooling, you could probably go ahead and put an ER Large in place of the standard Large. Even with alpha striking and running, you would only generate 19 heat, and a little extra range doesn't hurt.
That's fair.
I know i was personally annoyed that the Catapult 2 decided to dual wield TSEMPs.
@@bthsr7113 I did laugh at how Wolf Empire mechwarriors lost to it. It both shows how honor duels are dumb and how it works against niche opponents.
@@jamesbeard5513 That does sound amusing.
@@bthsr7113 It was like playing against an online troll player, basic safe opening with the LRMs that is expected then the alternating fire of the TSEMPs that ruins the opponents good time, and the kicking and stomping as the Catapult II got next to the shutdown mech. Classic Troll vs Pay2Win (Clan Wolf) fight. Funny as hell from a lore perspective, but I wouldn't do that in real-life games, and I may rage quit against someone that does that cheap move.
Gonna say, you were spot-on about my reaction to my first glance at the Gauntlet. Except for the accent. I was drawlin' in a Californian slur, but we Californians are weird.
There be dragons down there.
The Gauntlet’s A and B would be my picks for deployment. I think those two would compliment each other well. I found it curious that its resemblance to the Bushwacker was never brought up in its initial introduction until a bit later in official products (at least that was my experience).
In the C configuration the LAC5 is cool because of the special ammo types can bring variety to your tactics. Check them out....
I think you should go with an LB10X instead of the Light Gauss; we all know how much you love rolling for each on the location table!
Fun fun fun...
OMNI and BUSHWAKER = GIMME
So many neat mechs in the Dark Age/IlClan era that need CGL models fast.
Huh, I hadn't heard of this mech before. Seems pretty good. Though I do think it's close to suffering a case of what I call biggunnerites (pronounced "big-gun-er-ite-es"). Biggunnerites is when a mech has too much free tonnage compared to free space, so it must mount weapons that have the best tonnage to slot ratio as possible, which usually ends up being large autocannons. A good example of a mech with biggunnerites is the Night Gyr.
Fair appraisal. You do have to be spartan with the crit usage.
Bought the Gauntlet as my first IWM metal mini. I definitely like it’s appearance more than the normal Bushwhacker, glad they made a mini for it.
I think the B variant is the best one (Aka DISCO is LIVE AGAIN).
My takes on it:
1) Drop all regular lasers and do full MPL build
2) Drop 1 MPL and upgrade all regular medium lasers to ER version + add some DHS
About ballistics: it's a medium Omni-mech, so it doesn't have enough tonnage to play around (it has fixed engine and other parts, so crazy fun builds like 2x AC-20/ Gauss is not an option).
My hesitation on the MPLs is that the IS versions are so very hampered by range.
@@MechanicalFrog You have speed and ECM. Just hit-and-run and repeat. But just in case I'm not table-top player and only game I have played which it was close to TT is modded Battletech from HBS.
In MWO/MW5 terms MPL and Regular Medl Laser has the same range but MPL has more DPS.
I think I'd go with ER Mediums.
The OmniBushwacker has been on my radar for a while. The official configurations seem a bit lackluster, but that may be me.
It just needs support like most IS mechs. Putting it in a vacuum yeah it's lackluster, pairing it with support and realizing you have can hit someone for 20 points out to 18 hexes, AND be a battle taxi. That's what makes it impressive
The Thunderbolt-5 is a sticking point for me. Not my favorite weapon.
@MechanicalFrog I agree, honestly I think an srm or some medium lasers would be better suited in that position. Something capable of exploiting whatever hole the heavy ppc opens up.
Also, you spoke about tsemp like someone who's never had their jupiter get repeatedly zapped by it. It's not something to force build around but it is a good force multiplier and can scare some players.
Although I watched this video before, I didn't comment until now. It's a pretty cool design, though of course I made my own variant. The GTL-ISM switches over to Clan tech for all but the gyro. It retains the supercharger and MASC of the Prime version, but Clan versions of course. It adds another DHS to the base 10, uses Clan FF armor, and mounts an RAC/5 in the right arm (with 2 tons of CASE II protected ammo in the RT), a Large and Medium Pulse Laser in the left arm, along with 2 ER Micro Lasers, and a rear-facing Medium Pulse Laser in the CT.
The Gauntlet C looks cool but I feel that I can fix it by solving the problems it never had in a unique way because none of it's current variants are bad. It needs to be overly expensive and complex if it is to truly be from space Germany. Take out the light AC-5 and replace the taser with another Snub Nose PPC and add a capacitor to both and two complementary Laser AMS and a redesign for hand holds for battle armor for those just in case scenarios. I had another goofy idea it's literally just two Bombast Lasers with a Bloodhound Active Probe and jump jets.
I love the videos keep them up!
Keep in mind that by the end of the Dark Age and heading into the IlClan era, House Steiner is not the wealthy powerhouse it once was.
One advantage of keeping most of the weapons in the arms is that it can carry battle armor and still shoot most or even all its weapons. The Gauntlet with its speed and arm mounted weapons makes for a very good Battle Armor taxi for the LCAF.
Also, one easy way to defend a Gauntlet Prime from enemy light Mechs is to carry a squad of Cuchulain Battle Armor. Very few lights want to be shot at by 4 Clan ER MPLs, so they are either going to stay outside the Gauntlet's minimum range or have to suffer the wrath of the Battle Armor.
A good point.
As far as Lyran designs built on advanced tech go, I'm more partial to the Berserker, but it is neat to see some of their newer toys. And as an omnimech, there will surely be more Gauntlet configs of note in time.
The Berserker is rather... eye-catching.
@@MechanicalFrog I learned about it in the Sarna op ed about what mech would be ideal to wait out the lockdowns in. Specifically from a commenter noting how its unique profile would ensure supplies were accurately delivered so that the dang Jaegermech would have to order his own ravioli instead of stealing his boss' shipment. After a list of more generally useful features.
Knew about it, I just kinda wish the gauntlet had a refit that took from the classic griffin or original bushwhacker. Say a variant that gives it an IS ERPPC, and a MML-7 with 2 tons of reloads as an option.
An ERPPC variant would be nice.
@@MechanicalFrog the main problem I have is there is no "generalist" build just to have as a non-specialized mech built to give you a mobile trooper. you either have a fast moving enforcer, a fast moving blackhawk KU, or a disappointment that moves 5/8.
Lay is cool. As for the mech. I would run it with 2 Large Pulse Laser in the LA and Snub Nose PPC in the CT and small cockpit to squeeze a ton of weight out of it and on more slot. It's a little hot of 32/30.
For something with more of a range bracket I would keep the Snub-nose PPC in the CT, and add 4 Light PPC's 2 in each arm. Coming up short 2 tons to install a TarComp. I gave it 2 AMS with 1 ton of ammo.
Something with speed an stealth: MASC in LT, ECM in the head(small cockpit), 3 ER Med Lasers in the LA, 3 SRM6+Artemis IV FCS, 2 in the RT, 1 in RA with 1 ton of ammo in the CT. It's a little hot on 29/28 and there is still .5 tonnage left over and no more slots left. I don't think you add more armor to omni mechs but .5 tons is a sacrifice I'm willing to make. lol
Sounds toasty but fun.
The use of the a Light 275 Engine makes it a very safe mech at 55 tons, and yeah, at first glance I initially thought some Clan got bored and copied up their own Bushwhacker.
The C Configuration would be pretty nice to run in Mechwarrior since Autocannons are much better there due to Rate of Fire differences than they are in the tabletop. (In MWO, both the Medium Laser and the AC/5s still do five damage a shot, but the ML has a cooldown of 3.2 seconds while the AC/5 has a cooldown of 1.4 seconds, making the AC/5 roughly twice as effective In MWO as its counterpart in the tabletop game. This is all while it's still generating next to no heat.)
Since this machine has MASC baked into it (which works differently in MWO and MW5; there's no random chance of it failing) I'd want to take advantage of that. So my Mechwarrior 5 Gauntlet would look something like this:
2x LAC/5s (one in each arm) fed by 2 tons of ammo
1x Large X-Pulse Laser in the left side torso*
1x Guardian ECM and 1x Light-TAG fill out the remaining tonnage in the other side Torso. (if the TAG can go into the head, I would do that, but it's Omni-Pods so...who knows)
If the machine had any variants with Jump Jets, I'd take 4 of those over the support equipment. (some Clan Mechs have Omnipods for the legs with JJs; it's not out of the realm of possibility) Otherwise, the LACs + LXPL look pretty solid for a quick close-mid range trooper mech in MW. (much less so in the tabletop)
So...why the X-Pulse-Laser and not an ER-PPC? X-Pulse Lasers were recently added to Mechwarrior Online but given a twist over their canonical tabletop counterparts: They can fire continuously instead of in bursts, at the expense of higher heat generation per second.
This gives them a unique role beyond "Inner Sphere Brand ER-Pulse Lasers", making them into laser-machineguns, and I love 'em. They'd be fantastic vs the swarms of vehicles you tend to encounter in MW5, or surgically working over a single critical location on an enemy mech. The LAC/5s provide a great backup specifically in Mechwarrior because of their good rate of fire and virtually null heat generation. (ammo might be a bit tricky; may have to drop the support equipment for another ton or two of LAC/5 ammo)
I would love to get some Clan weapons on this thing.
@@MechanicalFrog I'm sure someone in the Lyran military has some overstock salvage or pull with Wolf's Dragoons.
well, well, well... color me surprised. I didn't know this mech existed. Thanks for going over it.
My my my... how the turns have tabled...
I have one of this mech and its a solid one even with primary config. It could even go against heavier mechs. TMM 3, Case, IF, armor and structure similar to Axeman. Its speed could outmaneuever its heavier counterparts and do hits from behind.
Nice to have one around.
Nice to know that using a Bushwacker mini would be a very suitable (dare I say, indistinguishable?) proxy on the tabletop. I'm temped to do a lance or two with the Omni versions of classic old-era designs, so let's toss in the Blackjack, the Firestarter... and that newfangled BlackHawk-KU.
It can definitely pass.
Well that’s a pleasant start to my day, thanks Frog.
Have a great one!
The B variant does have an inadvertent advantage with the ammo in the arms. I dont quite know how C.A.S.E II works but if the ammo is hit, the engine will not be damaged which means a much easier and faster repair, especially with the omnimech capabilities. On the tabletop it can certainly be a disadvantage but i can see its advantages in universe
Thank you for pulling from the Ilclan side of the pile - didn't know about this one :)
More to come!
Good golly Miss Molly, that daar ba’el mech looks jus’ liek a whacker of dem bushes!
It's uncanny. Exactly what I hear in my head.
One I’d never even heard of! Good stuff!👍
Right on! Have a great one!
When clan steal falcon invaded arcturas... my guy you gave me a heart attack. Clan what 😅
Sorry... audio flub. I will punish my editor.
I noticed the limited long range variants as well, i was thinking of a version with a BLazer in the right arm, three LRMs, one in each torso segment, with two tons of LRM ammo in a C.A.S.E. 2 and 3 small pulse lasers in the left arm, i would prefer putting ammo in the torso but this way it is better balanced out. And the pulses help deal with infantry and any overconfident light mech.
Not too shabby. It could work.
NICE! All these years I was thinking that the first successful attempt at an Inner Sphere Omni-mech was the Rakshasa...
Yeh, technically not an omni-mech.
@@MechanicalFrog Oh! Thought it was... Thought I read a while back that the Rakshasa was an attempt to mimic the Timberwolf.
@@Star-qc4br It was built in the doomed attempt to build a Madcat with IS level tech at the early part of the invasion. It was built buy people that only had a discription while doing it blind folded.
@@johannbezuidenhout2976 AH! I didn't know that! I just remember reading that they were trying to copy the Madcat and it didn't go so well. That sucks! I kinda' liked the looks and loadout of that one.
@@Star-qc4br It is functional if a bit underpowered. It's like they tried to smash the Marauder and Catapult together and made the most meh Mech possible.
I like the new screen set up, is neat. like the little talking avatar as well.
I do not like the light gauss, however. it has a long range punch, sure, but depending on the era there is a lot better options. I personally, would replace the Prime's Thunderbolt 10 with a LRM-10, it's less damage on average, but more flexible and less likely to get boned by AMS. keeping the two tons of ammo in place, there should be enough weight for two medium or ER medium lasers for cheeky lights that get too close. Or heck, 4 ER Small lasers. that might be fun. medium range for them starts at the Heavy PPC's minimum, and they almost hit out to the LRM's minimum. (the medium lasers are probably better)
Thanks for the feedback.
I would probably agree with the LRM-10 switch.
My STPY version has a Hvy PPC a MPL and 2 Strk 6 with 1 ton of ammo each. Pretty hard hitting brawler
Nice short range punch.
sweet i was just thinking i need something to watch wile i set up my new cabmet to put all my mechs in
thanks frog keep the madness coming
The nonsense must flow.
indeed my friend indeed@@MechanicalFrog
Omni, LFE, good move, armor, loadouts? It's awesome.
Lots of options. Solid performer.
the B variant is an unabashed clone of the Nova Prime. which means that liek the Combine's Komodo from 3053, it would do a very good job of hunting elementals, as well as melting enemy mechs.
and an advantage that most configs of the gauntlet have is that, with their guns being mostly in the arms, they can carry a squad of battlearmor hanging off their torso's without losing much combat ability. while the lyrans tended to go more for quad BA, that means you can easily cart around squads of Grey death Scout, Standard, Strike, or heavy BA (which makes up much of the LCAF's non-quad BA forces) or IS Standards.
I used the original Bushwacker in Mechommander 2 and Mechwarrior4. In Mechcommander it was a decent unit, but it lacked any Jump Jets which in that game was an incredible disadvantage. In Mechwarrior 4 I hated it because it had fixed slots that reduced its versatility. If I remember right it only has 2 slots for energy weapons.
The Gauntlet may be decent, but none of its configurations really show off its potential. Its notable that none of its configurations even use captured or traded Clan weapons.
It's the IlClan era now. Roll up to the nearest Clan Sea Fox retail outlet and pick up some pulse lasers and HAGs.
@@MechanicalFrog Well a major problem with new equipment in the Dark Age and IllClan era like the Gauntlet is that they are extremely expensive by using parts that should make them extinct like what happened to SLDF tech during the Succession Wars.
The Gauntlet costs 17million C-Bills. That's almost as costly as 2 Atlas assault battlemechs. I would prefer to buy a Kingfisher clan assault omnimech for 13million and use the leftovers for several light mechs like 3 Wasp Cs..
...oh, so it's called the Gauntlet because of the Lyran Commonwealth symbol
"We're through the looking glass, people..."
Yah did think it was a bushwacker hahah, Thanks for introducing me to this mech
Sure thing! Glad I could intro it to several people today.
Another fun watch :-) as we rearely go beyond the clan invasion its nice to see this future tech that we can only dream about :-)
I want to spend more time in the Dark Age/IlClan era.
Got one as part of my Dark Age era Crescent Hawks. I will admit not my favorite era for Crescent Hawks but it serves well.
New mech to me & the MF variant works best for me out of the listed variants/loadouts.
Awesome!
That looks like a cool speedy 55. I wish they had this in MWO.
Looks like a mix between a bushwhacker, ebon jag, and kitfox. Golly.
It probably will end up in it eventually.
I would put a TSEMP on a head commanding officers mech and/or his bodyguard mechs so they may have a better chance of survival if they're about to be over run
Another score for da Frog! Good job!!
Thank ya!
Very nice, I dig it. I've been working on a 55 ton Quad Omnimech, if I could get your input that'd be great!
I don't know if I have any quad specific advice.
@@MechanicalFrog alright, fair enough. I just decided to be a turbo nerd, made the Command Wolf from Zoids into a quad mech for Battletech after I found a 3d file for it!
Dunno how much this tells ya, but I made it a 55 tonner (I learned that it's 45 tons in Zoids after I'd made over a dozen configurations, so...artistic liberty.), quad, XL 275 (5/8), full 12 tons of Light Ferro, Small Cockpit. LFF slots are locked 2 in the head, 2 in the CT, 1 in the LT, 1 in each rear leg. Right Torso has a turret mount in every variant; my "Prime" configuration has a pair of Large Pulse Lasers in the turret mount, an SRM4 in each front leg, 1 ton of Ammo + CASE II in the LT plus one of the additional double heat sinks that doesn't fit in the engine (for a total of 13 double heat sinks - meaning it can alpha strike and just have heat from movement left). Ive designed a number of configurations/variants, I'm just torn on if the 12.3 mil C-Bill price tag is worth it for the Omnimech benefits or of it'd be better to go standard mech and save the money...
You should make a "Why We Hate" series. LOL. I would love to laugh at the failures in design
It's tempting from time to time, but I don't like being negative.
@@MechanicalFrog If it was in a funny way it would be great. Get to laugh at something that keeps tripping on its own feet. Really comes down to the delivery.
Clan steel falcon? When were they founded and what blood names do they possess for their blood chapel?
Yep. Caught the audio flub.
@@MechanicalFrog it happens man, crank out enough material and eventually you'll have a slip up. I mean there was such a clan as the Jade wolves for a while.
@@death2all79zx I refer to my personal IlClan era Jade Falcon army as Steel Falcons, so it slipped in and snuck through the editing.
First thing that I had in Mind when seeing this Mech:
The Gauntlet looks to be related to the Bushwalker somehow... O.o
... lol, you even mentioned it in your video. xD
Lil bit...
The Light AC 5 can use specialized munitions like Armor Piercing and Precision. So that's a perk for the C config?
Yes
Aff
This Adam Steiner wouldn't happen to be _that_ Adam Steiner, would it?
Also, your variant would be fun. I love the Light Gauss Rifle and its ability to snipe across many of the maps I've seen.
That...Adam Steiner...
Drop the heavy ppc for a rac2 with two ton bin and the super charger for 3 er medium lasers. And i want to keep that thunderbolt launcher for some reason. Gives me a general purpose raider.
There isnt much you can do with this mech, to much weight saving tech. So a lot of your interal space is taken up by the light engine, or endo steel, and ferros fibrous.
Best off with weapons like the ER Lasers that don't take up much space.
@MechanicalFrog I want to play in to the speed more, hit hard, and fade out fast. You could also go with a large clan pulse laser. Two pod mounted heat sinks, drop an er medium for a targeting computer.
Use the RAC to loot weapons from the Falcons, install the new clan weapons, sell the RAC to the Sea Foxes.
@@bthsr7113 house stiener took over the ark royal defense corridor. So I would not need to loot, and now they are the soul producer of the pouncer and fenris now.
You should do the Hauptmann heavy omnimech
Maybe... we'll see.
It's impressive when you can take 30 years to make a mech objectively worse then a design that was 30 years old at that point.
Hmmm 21 tons eh?
Okay CT add turret mount and 2 small pulse laser. This should result im +4 accuracy. Much needed when light mechs get too friendly. That's 3 tons.
RA gets 2 large pulse lasers and 2 DHS added. 12 tons?
LA gets 2 medium pulse lasers. Optional would be 1 Lg and 1 Medium pulse in each arm.
A single DHS is in arm too. 5 tons.
Last Ton would be a TC or ECM . I tend to ECM more than Targeting Computers.
The chin turret accuracy bonus on top of small pulses is enough for when it really matters anyway.
So 2 large pulse
2 medium pulse
2 small pulse in chin turret
ECM or TC
Gives mech range options and better heat management.
If I got lg pulse weight wrong then change turreted lasers to er smalls.
For ilclan. Er clan lgs x 3 and 2 DHS each. 18 tons
TC for sniping or actve probe 1 ton
ECM 1 ton
Last ton pod space put 2 LMG and half ton ammo in preferred torso
Or 4 micro lasers 1 each side torso and 2 in CT
Anyone refine this?
Looks good to me.
Close enough to Mayberry. NC is nice
:D
It’s looks like a bushwacker . . . Man the accent, I thought we were from van sandy. Thank you for this history. My knowledge of post 3080 mech is poor. Love the new look. I wonder if you con configure a bushwacker load outs ?

We need many more mechs that look like a Bushwacker
But... the future is Crab.
Is this a clan version of the bushwhacked?
It's the House Steiner Omni-Mech version of their own Bushwacker.
Well howdy, i reckon that there gauntlet looks an aweful lot like the ol' bushwacker

All done with the Clan second liners?
Still a few out there - Horned Owl at the very least
Nope, just took a little detour.
Wait, you've got 20 dissipation on that Gauntlet why NOT get an ERLL on the arm? Just to keep Cbils/BV down?
This is why we can't have nice things.
Clan Steel Falcon? 8:48
Yeah I caught that just before compiling. Oops.
We have a Bushwhacker at home meme.
Only there is literally a bushwacker at home... and this glorious baby next to it.
The only decent variant is the MML version. That said I prefer the Bushwacker for more sane weapons configurations.
You have high standards. That's ok.
I did link it with Bushwacker.
Lots of common parts.
It's a Bushwacker Mk2, what's not to love?
I know, right?
Like a beefy Bushwhacker.
I like time version but prefer an ERLL instead.
It's a Bushwhacker with the zoomies! What's not to love about this mech? :D
Maybe that it's not packed with clan weapons and painted Jade Falcon green?
@@MechanicalFrog Bushwacker IIC when? :D
Not soon enough.
A very solid base but none of the standard configs tickle my pickle. I feel like all the new configs trend towards trying to be cute with their ginmicks instead of focusing on outtinf warheads on foreheads.
I generally agree.
Ive never seen, nor even heard of this design, which very odd given its obvious design heritage. Thanks for the lesson Frog, keep up the great work.
Edit: It honestly looks like a Bushwacker and a Kit Fox/Uller had a drunken one night stand. With maybe a bit of jenner in the family line somewhere 😂
A BushFox!
The thing is Guantlet... never mentions the Bushwacker in its TRO entry..... its only implied among the player base... is there commonality in its manufactures or system makers?
Its one of those ideas I dare speculate: before the advent of current remodeling of the art, there are several attempts to make some units visually simular (example the Celestials and several Dark Age Comstar units) so that TPTB did NOT have to make a mold for the purpose of reuse: do you need a mini for the CN10 Centurion or 70ton Jagermech?
Admittedly it drives me nuts. Suppose to be an omni Bushwacker but yet it doesn't feel like it at all. I just look at its father design and its latest iteration the Bushwacker 4x which is stellar and feels like very much like the original which is a mech I really really like. Gauntlet just doesn't feel like it at all. I guess also getting a bunch of the new Davion and Marik new toys it just feels very underwhelming.
Ah well... at least they tried?
Is this not a bushwacker?
Ahh I now see that it is in fact not a bushwacker
And all is right in the world... well, yeah...
Love your videos, but you could use some more proofreading. There are some noticeable mistakes here and there between the editing and narration.
Thankfully, I only make mistakes on days that end in y.
It's worth noting that the blaming of the social general and disdain for production delays was likely mere Republican propaganda to distract from how their imposed arms restrictions undercut mech procurement for their supposed allies. Stories like the chaos irregulars clearly illustrate how during the reigns of Peter and later Adam those who would otherwise be considered social generals were at best able to secure posts in out of the way and largely irrelevant units stationed in mostly peaceful and/or near periphery regions. Even the most infamous social general of the period, Thomas Hogarth, depended far more on skillful manipulation of public perception and a very real record of excellence and tangible battlefield success (no matter how implausibly misrepresentative of his skills it may have been) than any familial or financial connections. Similarly, in the aftermath of things like the actual Lyran scout lance and lightning brigade not only becoming standard but highly praised and respected within the LCAF, AFFC, LAAF, and again LCAF, the comical distain for mediums and lights Lyrans were known for in the succession war was long gone.
