      @@oakiewoodsman exactly exactly like his except mine has two clamps on it.
      I think you used the regular bucket with the grapple.
      The feel of using it will be exactly the same. Same strategy for gripping the log or brush. Opens about the same amount.
      A grapple because it has sides on the bucket.

    I share your huge smile Lucus. You will really enjoy the more seat time you will be getting. TIP:::::When picking up sod and brush try driving into the pile bucket low ,then roll the bucket over the pile as you are slowly driving forward then close the thumb you will be amazed at how much you can fit into that bucket. It is impressive what that BX is capable of lifting. When I first saw that rock bucket with the grapple I thought to myself, "now that's a useful setup." Can't blame you for being giddy about it.

    That looks absolutely awesome! That is a great setup for your Kubota B series tractor. I really do like that bucket for sure it you certainly have a great use case for that. What a way to learn, do it by playing around before you really need to use it! Hahaha.. the first time I ran something like that was at @rockhillfarmyt and I was miserable at it trying to get work done. He was far more proficient with it for sure!

    I want that rock bucket and grapple so badly. I am in Canada (Ontario) though, and it doesn't look like they have a Canadian distributor. Might be a bit much to get things shipped up. Will have to investigate more. As always thanks for sharing! At the very least I may buy their third function as I don't have one yet...

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

    I guess I DID hit the nail on the head when I suggested a grapple to you yesterday LOL. But when somebody adds a 3rd function or diverter kit to their front end, that's pretty much their intended use for the diverter 99% of the time, so it's not like I was Sherlock Holmes!! Congratulations, and it looks like it'll suit your needs pretty well.
    I'm not sure which BX model you have, but mine (the 2350) doesn't have much lift capacity. Which model is yours? Boy does that clamp open and close awfully fast. I don't think there's an easy way to slow that (the hydraulic flow) down, other than idling down when clamping or opening the jaw, but that just seemed to open and close much faster than I'd like. So, I'd probably just idle down whenever I was about to pick something up to clamp on, or drop a log, and it might make that a little more controllable.
    I DO HAVE the Woodland Mills stump grinder on my Kubota, and LOVE IT. As a matter of fact, I ground about 20 stumps yesterday, and am planning on doing some more today if we don't get rained out. I also have the Woodland Mills chipper on my larger tractor (they make a smaller one that would be perfect for the BX as well). I love both of the Woodland Mills products that I have, and I'm pretty sure that they'd suit you well too. So, when you get around to it, and when the money situation permits or relationship with manufacturers reaches that point, you may want to consider that brand for those two things.
    Good video Lucas!

    • @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
      @PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead  6 місяців тому +1

      Thanks! The grapple does open and close fast, but it seems very manageable. I can slow it down by how hard I push the lever too. I also work the throttle when I am doing more sensitive work. I’m still learning how to get the most out of it.
      Woodland Mills is a great company, they have great products and great customer service. I have started working with a company called MechMaxx and they source many of their products from the same place. I am hopeful that a stump grinder is coming soon. I have plenty of stumps to deal with!

    Lucas: this is excellent info. Have you tried to lift a big rock yet? I have lots of big rocks here and it would hopefully work well. Take care and stay safe PS: you know that you can get a chin strap for your hat, so you don' forget to wear it. 😃
