    Spot on with the lack of arch support for a "stability" shoe (you're the only reviewer I found who specifically addressed this). I have PF and ended up using an arch support insole with it. Also, due of the softer foam it does feel a bit unsteady walking/standing while carrying weight. But running on hard surface is very comfortable and helping immensely with my overpronation. Thank you for this very good review!

      Thanks for letting me know! Glad the support insole worked too! I think this will help a lot of people!

      I don’t need arch support and I don’t like a shoe with an intrusive arch support. But I agree with you about the shoe being unstable under heavy loads. I’ve actually tried on different running shoes while walking or running g with a weighted backpack. The 860v14 performs poorly. Even my Saucony Triumph 20 feels better while I have on a weighted backpack. That being said, the 860v14 is very stable for me overall and it feels very good with normal walking.

      @trailandkale Looking for a trainer that come is 4E and is good for high arches. Any suggestions? Would the 860 be worth a shot?

    I have not noticed the lack of arch support after 150 miles in the shoe despite having a higher arch on one of my feet. I have found this shoe to be very comfortable and enjoy the 8 mm drop. Thank you for your reviews.

    I haven’t seen you before on UA-cam, but your review on the NB860v14 was interesting. I had earlier versions of this shoe in the past and those were 10mm drop but I quite liked them. NB then changed the 860 at (I think) version 10 and I didn’t get on with them and got rid. I then noticed this year, that NB released the 860 (version 14) in an 8mm drop and being a long time user of Saucony’s Guide series, which were 8mm drop up until version 17, I decided to try the 860v14. I’m 60 or so, miles into the NB’s and I’m pretty impressed with them. I’m a bit chunky in build with a flat left foot, but I’ve been running regularly since 2016 and I know what’s right for me shoe wise. My favourite running shoes are the Saucony Tempus which has an 8mm drop. I’m holding out for the Tempus 2’s which are coming out very soon, but in the meantime, I’ll keep using the NB 860’s as a daily trainer.

      Glad you finally found my channel! And thank you for sharing your detailed experience with NB and Saucony! I appreciate you taking the time to share it all! The 860v14 is a great shoe for most runners.

    I never noticed the arch. Shoe was surprisingly decent

      Oh good, I’m glad you’re not noticing that. This happened on only my right foot so I wonder if my right arch is higher than my left

    What shoes do you recommend for a mid to forefoot striker?

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  5 місяців тому +1

      Any shoes sitting on the lower end of a medium drop or a low drop shoe. Here’s a selection of recent reviews of those: www.trailandkale.com/shoe-reviews/drop/medium/

    Thoughts on non pronators wearing this one for longer runs to help form when you get fatigued?

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes it will certainly help improve form as fatigue sets in. Always good training in a supportive shoe 👍🏼

    I've currently on same 860 V13s and on 450 miles. Still comfortable to run in. Would yous say it's worth buying these or waiting for the V15s?

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  2 місяці тому

      These are definitely worth buying if you enjoy the v13

    So I see that people say it's instable for larger people does it collapse or what. It's the first pair of NB 860 v14 for me. Just ordered them and mostly have used asics 27-29 before that and also booth asics kayano 30-31 but my right foot didnt like em.
    So now I'm using Brooks adrenaline gts 22 and it's a good shoe just a bit boring also sometimes.mlstly the colors.
    I'm like 190cm and weights around 120kg. Don't run mostly walk nowdays.
    Might i have done a.istake ordering theese shoes? Don't want to throw away 205$ with shipping. I pronate some but not much but want something with atleast 8mm drop and stability and also good and a plush ride while using them.

      They’re a good stable shoe (they’re stability shoes). Here are my top rated alternatives right now but i don’t see why you won’t enjoy your new 860s: www.trailandkale.com/gear/best-stability-running-shoes/

      I hope these worked out for you. I've just ordered some 860V14s to try out as an alternative to my Brooks Adrenaline 22s. The toe box looks a bit wider which was something I was looking for. Like you I mostly walk so I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on these in the time you've tried them.

      I weigh all my shoes in my studio, and I have no idea how this happened but you’re absolutely right!!! There must have been something up with my scales! Thank you for pointing this out. They weigh 298g (10.5oz)
